Genesis 29
1 Then Jacob [Supplanter] went on his journey, and came to the land of the children of the east.
௧யாக்கோபு பயணம்செய்து, கிழக்கு தேசத்தாரிடத்தில் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தான்.
2 He looked, and behold, a well in the field, and, behold, three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.
௨அங்கே வயல்வெளியிலே ஒரு கிணற்றையும், அதின் அருகே சேர்க்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற மூன்று ஆட்டுமந்தைகளையும் கண்டான்; அந்தக் கிணற்றிலே மந்தைகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டுவார்கள்; அந்தக் கிணறு ஒரு பெரிய கல்லினால் மூடப்பட்டிருந்தது.
3 There all the flocks were gathered. They rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again on the well’s mouth in its place.
௩அந்த இடத்தில் மந்தைகள் எல்லாம் சேர்ந்தபின் கிணற்றை மூடியிருக்கும் கல்லை மேய்ப்பர்கள் புரட்டி, ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டி, மறுபடியும் கல்லை முன்பிருந்ததுபோல கிணற்றை மூடிவைப்பார்கள்.
4 Jacob [Supplanter] said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran [Mountaineer].”
௪யாக்கோபு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: “சகோதரர்களே, நீங்கள் எந்த ஊரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்” என்றான்; அவர்கள், “நாங்கள் ஆரான் ஊரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்” என்றார்கள்.
5 He said to them, “Do you know Laban [White], the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”
௫அப்பொழுது அவன்: “நாகோரின் மகனாகிய லாபானை அறிவீர்களா” என்று கேட்டான்; “அறிவோம்” என்றார்கள்.
6 He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel [Ewe sheep], his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”
௬“அவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறானா” என்று விசாரித்தான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “சுகமாயிருக்கிறான்; அவனுடைய மகளாகிய ராகேல், அதோ, ஆடுகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டு வருகிறாள்” என்று சொன்னார்கள்.
7 He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”
௭அப்பொழுது அவன்: “இன்னும் அதிக நேரமிருக்கிறதே; இது மந்தைகளைச் சேர்க்கிற நேரமல்லவே, ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டி, இன்னும் மேயவிடலாம்” என்றான்.
8 They said, “We can’t, until all the flocks are gathered together, and they roll the stone from the well’s mouth. Then we water the sheep.”
௮அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “எல்லா மந்தைகளும் சேருமுன்னே அப்படிச் செய்யக்கூடாது; சேர்ந்தபின் கிணற்றை மூடியிருக்கிற கல்லைப் புரட்டுவார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டுவோம்” என்றார்கள்.
9 While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel [Ewe sheep] came with her father’s sheep, for she kept them.
௯அவர்களோடு அவன் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே, தன் தகப்பனுடைய ஆடுகளை மேய்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த ராகேல் அந்த ஆடுகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டு வந்தாள்.
10 When Jacob [Supplanter] saw Rachel [Ewe sheep] the daughter of Laban [White], his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban [White], his mother’s brother, Jacob [Supplanter] went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban [White] his mother’s brother.
௧0யாக்கோபு தன் தாயின் சகோதரனான லாபானுடைய மகளாகிய ராகேலையும், தன் தாயின் சகோதரனாகிய லாபானின் ஆடுகளையும் கண்டபோது, யாக்கோபு போய், கிணற்றை மூடியிருந்த கல்லைப் புரட்டி, தன் தாயின் சகோதரனாகிய லாபானின் ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டினான்.
11 Jacob [Supplanter] kissed Rachel [Ewe sheep], and lifted up his voice, and wept.
௧௧பின்பு யாக்கோபு ராகேலை முத்தம்செய்து, சத்தமிட்டு அழுது,
12 Jacob [Supplanter] told Rachel [Ewe sheep] that he was her father’s brother, and that he was Rebekah [Securely bound]’s son. She ran and told her father.
௧௨தான் அவள் தகப்பனுடைய மருமகனென்றும், ரெபெக்காளின் மகனென்றும் ராகேலுக்கு அறிவித்தான். அவள் ஓடிப்போய்த் தன் தகப்பனுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.
13 When Laban [White] sh'ma ·heard obeyed· the news of Jacob [Supplanter], his sister’s son, he ran to meet Jacob [Supplanter], and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. Jacob [Supplanter] told Laban [White] all these things.
௧௩லாபான் தன் சகோதரியின் மகனாகிய யாக்கோபுடைய செய்தியைக் கேட்டபோது, அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டோடி, அவனைத் தழுவி முத்தம்செய்து, தன் வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; அவன் தன் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் விவரமாக லாபானுக்குச் சொன்னான்.
14 Laban [White] said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” He lived with him for a month.
௧௪அப்பொழுது லாபான்: “நீ என் எலும்பும் என் மாம்சமுமானவன்” என்றான். ஒரு மாதம்வரைக்கும் யாக்கோபு அவனிடத்தில் தங்கினான்.
15 Laban [White] said to Jacob [Supplanter], “Because you are my brother, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”
௧௫பின்பு லாபான் யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: “நீ என் மருமகனாயிருப்பதால், சும்மா எனக்கு வேலைசெய்யலாமா? சம்பளம் எவ்வளவு கேட்கிறாய்”, சொல் என்றான்.
16 Laban [White] had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah [Weary], and the name of the younger was Rachel [Ewe sheep].
௧௬லாபானுக்கு இரண்டு மகள்கள் இருந்தார்கள்; மூத்தவள் பெயர் லேயாள், இளையவள் பெயர் ராகேல்.
17 Leah [Weary]’s eyes were weak, but Rachel [Ewe sheep] was beautiful in form and attractive.
௧௭லேயாளுடைய கண்கள் கூச்சப்பார்வையாயிருந்தது; ராகேலோ ரூபவதியும் பார்ப்பதற்கு அழகுள்ளவளாக இருந்தாள்.
18 Jacob [Supplanter] 'ahav ·affectionately loved· Rachel [Ewe sheep]. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel [Ewe sheep], your younger daughter.”
௧௮யாக்கோபு ராகேல் மீது பிரியப்பட்டு: “உம்முடைய இளைய மகளாகிய ராகேலுக்காக உம்மிடத்தில் ஏழு வருடங்கள் வேலை செய்கிறேன்” என்றான்.
19 Laban [White] said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”
௧௯அதற்கு லாபான்: “நான் அவளை வேறொருவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறதைவிட, அவளை உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிறது உத்தமம், என்னிடத்தில் தங்கியிரு” என்றான்.
20 Jacob [Supplanter] served seven years for Rachel [Ewe sheep]. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.
௨0அந்தப்படியே யாக்கோபு ராகேலுக்காக ஏழு வருடங்கள் வேலை செய்தான்; அவள் மேலிருந்த பிரியத்தினாலே அந்த வருடங்கள் அவனுக்குக் கொஞ்ச நாளாகத் தோன்றினது.
21 Jacob [Supplanter] said to Laban [White], “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.”
௨௧பின்பு யாக்கோபு லாபானை நோக்கி: “என் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறிவிட்டதால், என் மனைவியிடத்தில் நான் சேரும்படி அவளை எனக்குத் தரவேண்டும்” என்றான்.
22 Laban [White] gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
௨௨அப்பொழுது லாபான் அந்த இடத்து மனிதர்கள் எல்லோரையும் கூடிவரச்செய்து விருந்துசெய்தான்.
23 In the evening, he took Leah [Weary] his daughter, and brought her to him. He went in to her.
௨௩அன்று இரவிலே அவன் தன் மகளாகிய லேயாளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவனிடத்தில் விட்டான்; அவளை அவன் சேர்ந்தான்.
24 Laban [White] gave Zilpah [Frailty] his servant to his daughter Leah [Weary] for a servant.
௨௪லாபான் தன் வேலைக்காரியாகிய சில்பாளைத் தன் மகளாகிய லேயாளுக்கு வேலைக்காரியாகக் கொடுத்தான்.
25 In the morning, behold, it was Leah [Weary]. He said to Laban [White], “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel [Ewe sheep]? Why then have you deceived me?”
௨௫காலையிலே, இதோ, அவள் லேயாள் என்று யாக்கோபு கண்டு, லாபானை நோக்கி: “ஏன் எனக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தீர்? ராகேலுக்காக அல்லவா உம்மிடத்தில் வேலைசெய்தேன்; பின்பு ஏன் என்னை ஏமாற்றினீர்” என்றான்.
26 Laban [White] said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.
௨௬அதற்கு லாபான்: “மூத்தவள் இருக்க இளையவளைக் கொடுப்பது இந்த இடத்தின் வழக்கம் இல்லை.
27 Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me yet seven other years.”
௨௭இவளுடைய ஏழு நாட்களை நிறைவேற்று; அவளையும் உனக்குத் தருவேன்; அவளுக்காகவும் நீ இன்னும் ஏழு வருடங்கள் என்னிடத்திலே வேலைசெய்” என்றான்.
28 Jacob [Supplanter] did so, and fulfilled her week. He gave him Rachel [Ewe sheep] his daughter as wife.
௨௮அப்படியே யாக்கோபு, இவளுடைய ஏழு நாட்களை நிறைவேற்றினான். அப்பொழுது தன் மகளாகிய ராகேலையும் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தான்.
29 Laban [White] gave to Rachel [Ewe sheep] his daughter Bilhah [Bashful], his servant, to be her servant.
௨௯மேலும் லாபான் தன் வேலைக்காரியாகிய பில்காளைத் தன் மகளாகிய ராகேலுக்கு வேலைக்காரியாகக் கொடுத்தான்.
30 He went in also to Rachel [Ewe sheep], yet he 'ahav ·affectionately loved· Rachel [Ewe sheep] more than Leah [Weary]. Jacob [Supplanter] served Laban [White] yet seven other years.
௩0யாக்கோபு ராகேலையும் சேர்ந்தான்; லேயாளைவிட ராகேலை அவன் அதிகமாக நேசித்து, பின்னும் ஏழு வருடங்கள் அவனிடத்தில் வேலை செய்தான்.
31 Adonai saw that Leah [Weary] was hated, and he opened her womb, but Rachel [Ewe sheep] was barren.
௩௧லேயாள் அற்பமாக எண்ணப்பட்டாள் என்று யெகோவா கண்டு, அவள் கர்ப்பந்தரிக்கும்படி செய்தார்; ராகேலோ மலடியாயிருந்தாள்.
32 Leah [Weary] conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben [See, a son!]. For she said, “Because Adonai has looked at my affliction. For now my husband will 'ahav ·affectionately love· me.”
௩௨லேயாள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்று: “யெகோவா என் சிறுமையைப் பார்த்தருளினார்; இப்பொழுது என் கணவன் என்னை நேசிப்பார்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு ரூபன் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.
33 She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because Adonai has sh'ma ·heard obeyed· that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon [Hearing].
௩௩மறுபடியும் அவள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்று: “நான் அற்பமாக எண்ணப்பட்டதைக் யெகோவா கேட்டருளி, இவனையும் எனக்குத் தந்தார்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு சிமியோன் என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.
34 She conceived again, and bore a son. Said, “Now this time will my husband be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi [United with].
௩௪பின்னும் அவள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்று: “என் கணவனுக்கு மூன்று மகன்களைப் பெற்றதால் அவர் இப்பொழுது என்னோடு சேர்ந்திருப்பார்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு லேவி என்று பெயரிட்டாள்.
35 She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time will I yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai.” Therefore she named him Judah [Praised]. Then she stopped bearing.
௩௫மறுபடியும் அவள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்று: “இப்பொழுது யெகோவாவைத் துதிப்பேன்” என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு யூதா என்று பெயரிட்டாள்; பின்பு அவளுக்குப் பிள்ளைப்பேறு நின்றுபோனது.
