Zechariah 2
1 I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring-line in his hand.
Potem podniosłem oczy swoje i ujrzałem, a oto mąż, w którego ręce był sznur pomiarowy.
2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
I rzekłem: Dokąd idziesz? I rzekł do mnie: Abym rozmierzył Jeruzalem, i obaczył, jako wielka jest szerokość jego, i jako wielka długość jego.
3 And behold, the angel who talked with me went forth, and another angel went forth to meet him,
A oto gdy on Anioł, który rozmawiał zemną, wychodził, inszy Anioł wychodził przeciwko niemu.
4 and said to him, Run, speak to that young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls On account of the multitude of men and of cattle within her.
I rzekł do niego: Bież, rzecz do tego młodzieńca, mówiąc: Jeruzalemczycy po wsiach mieszkać będą dla mnóstwa ludu i bydła w pośrodku jego.
5 And I will be to her, saith Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And glory will I be within her.
A ja będę, mówi Pan, murem jego ognistym w około, i będę sławą w pośrodku jego.
6 Ho! ho! flee ye out of the land of the North, saith Jehovah; For toward the four winds of heaven have I scattered you abroad, saith Jehovah.
Nuże, nuże! Ucieczcie już z ziemi północnej, mówi Pan, ponieważ na cztery strony świata, mówi Pan, rozproszyłem was.
7 Ho, Zion, escape, Thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon!
Nuże Syonie! który mieszkasz u córki Babilońskiej, wyswobódź się.
8 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: For glory hath he sent me to the nations which plundered you; (For he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.)
Bo tak mówi Pan zastępów: Posłał mię po sławę przeciwko tym narodom, którzy was złupili; bo kto się was dotyka, dotyka się źrenicy oka mego.
9 For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, And they shall be a spoil to those that served them; And ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.
Albowiem oto Ja podniosę rękę moję przeciwko nim, i będą łupem sługom swoim, a dowiecie się, iż mię Pan zastępów posłał.
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For, behold, I will come, And I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah;
Zaśpiewaj a rozraduj się, córko Syońska! bo oto Ja przyjdę, a mieszkać będę w pośrodku ciebie, mówi Pan.
11 And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, And shall be my people; And I will dwell in the midst of thee; And thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me to thee.
I przyłączy się w on dzień wiele narodów do Pana, i będą ludem moim, i będę mieszkał w pośród ciebie, a dowiesz się, iż Pan zastępów posłał mię do ciebie.
12 And Jehovah will possess Judah as his portion in the holy land, And will again choose Jerusalem.
Tedy Pan Judę weźmie w osiadłość za dział swój w ziemi świętej, i obierze zaś Jeruzalem.
13 Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah! For he riseth up from his holy habitation.
Niech umilknie wszelkie ciało przed obliczem Pańskiem; albowiem się ocuci z mieszkania świętobliwości swojej.
