Zechariah 2
1 I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring-line in his hand.
তারপর আমি চোখ তুলে দেখলাম, আর সেখানে আমার সামনে মাপের দড়ি হাতে একজন লোক ছিল!
2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম, “আপনি কোথায় যাচ্ছেন?” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “জেরুশালেমকে মাপতে, সেটা কত চওড়া আর কত লম্বা তা দেখতে যাচ্ছি।”
3 And behold, the angel who talked with me went forth, and another angel went forth to meet him,
তারপর যে স্বর্গদূত আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন তিনি চলে যাচ্ছিলেন, এমন সময় আর একজন স্বর্গদূত তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে এলেন
4 and said to him, Run, speak to that young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls On account of the multitude of men and of cattle within her.
এবং তাঁকে বললেন, “আপনি দৌড়ে গিয়ে ওই যুবককে বলুন, ‘জেরুশালেমের মধ্যে মানুষ ও পশুর সংখ্যা বেশি হওয়ার দরুন তাতে কোনও প্রাচীর থাকবে না।
5 And I will be to her, saith Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And glory will I be within her.
এবং আমি নিজেই তার চারপাশে আগুনের প্রাচীর হব আর তার মধ্যে মহিমাস্বরূপ হব,’ সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।
6 Ho! ho! flee ye out of the land of the North, saith Jehovah; For toward the four winds of heaven have I scattered you abroad, saith Jehovah.
“এসো! এসো! উত্তর দেশ থেকে পালাও,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “কেননা আমি তোমাদের আকাশে বাতাসের মতো চারিদিকে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছি,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।
7 Ho, Zion, escape, Thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon!
“এসো, হে সিয়োন! তোমরা যারা ব্যাবিলনে বাস করছ, পালাও!”
8 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: For glory hath he sent me to the nations which plundered you; (For he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.)
কারণ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “সেই প্রতাপান্বিত জন যারা তোমাদের লুট করেছে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমাকে পাঠানোর পরে—কারণ যে কেউ তোমাদের স্পর্শ করে সে আমার চোখের মণি স্পর্শ করে—
9 For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, And they shall be a spoil to those that served them; And ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.
আমি নিশ্চয়ই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমার হাত উঠাব যাতে তাদের দাসেরা তাদের লুট করবে। তখন তারা জানতে পারবে যে সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For, behold, I will come, And I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah;
“হে সিয়োন-কন্যা, আনন্দগান করো এবং খুশি হও। কেননা আমি আসছি, এবং আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে বাস করব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।
11 And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, And shall be my people; And I will dwell in the midst of thee; And thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me to thee.
“সেদিন অনেক জাতি সদাপ্রভুর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়ে আমার লোক হবে। আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে বাস করব আর তোমরা জানবে যে সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু আমাকে তোমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছেন।
12 And Jehovah will possess Judah as his portion in the holy land, And will again choose Jerusalem.
সদাপ্রভু পবিত্র দেশে নিজের অংশ বলে যিহূদাকে অধিকার করবেন ও জেরুশালেমকে আবার মনোনীত করবেন।
13 Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah! For he riseth up from his holy habitation.
সমস্ত মানুষ, সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নীরব হও, কেননা তিনি নিজের পবিত্র বাসস্থানের মধ্য থেকে বের হয়ে এসেছেন।”
