Zechariah 10
1 Ask ye of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain! It is Jehovah that maketh the lightning; And he will give you abundant showers, To every one the herb of the field.
Mwombeni Bwana mvua wakati wa vuli; ndiye Bwana atengenezaye mawingu ya tufani. Huwapa watu manyunyu ya mvua, pia mimea ya shambani kwa ajili ya kila mtu.
2 For the teraphim speak falsehood, And the diviners see a lie, And the dreams speak falsehood; Vain are their consolations. Therefore they wander as a flock; They are in distress, because there is no shepherd.
Sanamu huzungumza udanganyifu, waaguzi huona maono ya uongo; husimulia ndoto ambazo si za kweli, wanatoa faraja batili. Kwa hiyo watu wanatangatanga kama kondoo walioonewa kwa kukosa mchungaji.
3 My anger is kindled against the shepherds, And the bucks will I punish; For Jehovah of hosts will visit his flock, the house of Judah, And make them as his goodly horse in battle.
“Hasira yangu inawaka dhidi ya wachungaji, nami nitawaadhibu viongozi; kwa kuwa Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote atalichunga kundi lake, nyumba ya Yuda, naye atawafanya kuwa kama farasi mwenye kiburi akiwa vitani.
4 From him shall come forth the corner-stone, From him the nail, From him the battle-bow; From him shall every leader come forth.
Kutoka Yuda litatokea Jiwe la pembeni, kutoka kwake vitatoka vigingi vya hema, kutoka kwake utatoka upinde wa vita, kutoka kwake atatoka kila mtawala.
5 And they shall be as mighty men, Who tread down their enemies in battle as the mire of the streets, And they shall fight, because Jehovah is with them, So that the riders on horses shall be confounded.
Kwa pamoja watakuwa kama mashujaa wanaokanyaga barabara za matope wakati wa vita. Kwa sababu Bwana yu pamoja nao, watapigana na kuwashinda wapanda farasi.
6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, And give victory to the house of Joseph, And I will set them in their dwellings, because I have compassion upon them; And they shall be as though I had not cast them off; For I am Jehovah, their God, and I will hear them.
“Nitaiimarisha nyumba ya Yuda na kuiokoa nyumba ya Yosefu. Nitawarejesha kwa sababu nina huruma juu yao. Watakuwa kama watu ambao sijawahi kuwakataa kwa sababu mimi ndimi Bwana Mungu wao, nami nitawajibu.
7 And Ephraim shall be as a mighty man, And their heart shall rejoice, as through wine; And their sons shall see it and rejoice, Their hearts shall rejoice in Jehovah.
Waefraimu watakuwa kama mashujaa, mioyo yao itafurahi kana kwamba ni kwa divai. Watoto wao wataona na kufurahi, mioyo yao itashangilia katika Bwana.
8 I will whistle for them, and will gather them; for I have redeemed them; And they shall increase as they increased before.
Nitawaashiria na kuwakusanya ndani. Hakika nitawakomboa, nao watakuwa wengi kama walivyokuwa mwanzoni.
9 Though I scatter them among the nations, Yet in far countries will they remember me; And they shall live with their children, and shall return.
Ijapokuwa niliwatawanya miongoni mwa mataifa, hata hivyo wakiwa katika nchi za mbali watanikumbuka mimi. Wao na watoto wao watanusurika katika hatari nao watarudi.
10 And I will bring them back from the land of Egypt, And from Assyria will I gather them; And I will bring them into the land of Gilead and of Lebanon, And there shall not be room enough for them.
Nitawarudisha kutoka Misri na kuwakusanya toka Ashuru. Nitawaleta katika nchi ya Gileadi na Lebanoni, na hapo hapatakuwa na nafasi ya kuwatosha.
11 And he shall pass through the sea of distress, And he shall smite the sea of waves, And all the depths of the river shall be dried up; And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, And the sceptre of Egypt shall depart.
Watapita katika bahari ya mateso; bahari iliyochafuka itatulizwa na vilindi vyote vya Mto Naili vitakauka. Kiburi cha Ashuru kitashushwa, nayo fimbo ya utawala ya Misri itatoweka.
12 And I will strengthen them through Jehovah, And in his name shall they walk, saith Jehovah.
Nitawaimarisha katika Bwana, na katika jina lake watatembea,” asema Bwana.
