Titus 1

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Christ Jesus, for the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

అనన్తజీవనస్యాశాతో జాతాయా ఈశ్వరభక్తే ర్యోగ్యస్య సత్యమతస్య యత్ తత్వజ్ఞానం యశ్చ విశ్వాస ఈశ్వరస్యాభిరుచితలోకై ర్లభ్యతే తదర్థం (aiōnios g166)

2 in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised from the most ancient times, (aiōnios g166)

యీశుఖ్రీష్టస్య ప్రేరిత ఈశ్వరస్య దాసః పౌలోఽహం సాధారణవిశ్వాసాత్ మమ ప్రకృతం ధర్మ్మపుత్రం తీతం ప్రతి లిఖమి|

3 but in his own seasons manifested his word through the preaching with which I was intrusted by the commandment of God our Saviour:

నిష్కపట ఈశ్వర ఆదికాలాత్ పూర్వ్వం తత్ జీవనం ప్రతిజ్ఞాతవాన్ స్వనిరూపితసమయే చ ఘోషణయా తత్ ప్రకాశితవాన్|

4 to Titus, true child after the common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.

మమ త్రాతురీశ్వరస్యాజ్ఞయా చ తస్య ఘోషణం మయి సమర్పితమ్ అభూత్| అస్మాకం తాత ఈశ్వరః పరిత్రాతా ప్రభు ర్యీశుఖ్రీష్టశ్చ తుభ్యమ్ అనుగ్రహం దయాం శాన్తిఞ్చ వితరతు|

5 For this cause I left thee behind in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed thee;

త్వం యద్ అసమ్పూర్ణకార్య్యాణి సమ్పూరయే ర్మదీయాదేశాచ్చ ప్రతినగరం ప్రాచీనగణాన్ నియోజయేస్తదర్థమహం త్వాం క్రీత్యుపద్వీపే స్థాపయిత్వా గతవాన్|

6 if any one is without reproach, the husband of one wife, having believing children, that are not accused of dissoluteness, or unruly.

తస్మాద్ యో నరో ఽనిన్దిత ఏకస్యా యోషితః స్వామీ విశ్వాసినామ్ అపచయస్యావాధ్యత్వస్య వా దోషేణాలిప్తానాఞ్చ సన్తానానాం జనకో భవతి స ఏవ యోగ్యః|

7 For a bishop must be without reproach, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,

యతో హేతోరద్యక్షేణేశ్వరస్య గృహాద్యక్షేణేవానిన్దనీయేన భవితవ్యం| తేన స్వేచ్ఛాచారిణా క్రోధినా పానాసక్తేన ప్రహారకేణ లోభినా వా న భవితవ్యం

8 but hospitable, a lover of what is good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

కిన్త్వతిథిసేవకేన సల్లోకానురాగిణా వినీతేన న్యాయ్యేన ధార్మ్మికేణ జితేన్ద్రియేణ చ భవితవ్యం,

9 holding fast the sure word according to what he was taught, that he may be able by sound teaching both to exhort, and to refute the gainsayers.

ఉపదేశే చ విశ్వస్తం వాక్యం తేన ధారితవ్యం యతః స యద్ యథార్థేనోపదేశేన లోకాన్ వినేతుం విఘ్నకారిణశ్చ నిరుత్తరాన్ కర్త్తుం శక్నుయాత్ తద్ ఆవశ్యకం|

10 For there are many unruly vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision;

యతస్తే బహవో ఽవాధ్యా అనర్థకవాక్యవాదినః ప్రవఞ్చకాశ్చ సన్తి విశేషతశ్ఛిన్నత్వచాం మధ్యే కేచిత్ తాదృశా లోకాః సన్తి|

11 whose mouths must be stopped, since they overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of base gain.

తేషాఞ్చ వాగ్రోధ ఆవశ్యకో యతస్తే కుత్సితలాభస్యాశయానుచితాని వాక్యాని శిక్షయన్తో నిఖిలపరివారాణాం సుమతిం నాశయన్తి|

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said: “The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful gluttons.”

తేషాం స్వదేశీయ ఏకో భవిష్యద్వాదీ వచనమిదముక్తవాన్, యథా, క్రీతీయమానవాః సర్వ్వే సదా కాపట్యవాదినః| హింస్రజన్తుసమానాస్తే ఽలసాశ్చోదరభారతః||

13 This testimony is true; for which cause rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

సాక్ష్యమేతత్ తథ్యం, అతో హేతోస్త్వం తాన్ గాఢం భర్త్సయ తే చ యథా విశ్వాసే స్వస్థా భవేయు

14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

ర్యిహూదీయోపాఖ్యానేషు సత్యమతభ్రష్టానాం మానవానామ్ ఆజ్ఞాసు చ మనాంసి న నివేశయేయుస్తథాదిశ|

15 To the pure all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.

శుచీనాం కృతే సర్వ్వాణ్యేవ శుచీని భవన్తి కిన్తు కలఙ్కితానామ్ అవిశ్వాసినాఞ్చ కృతే శుచి కిమపి న భవతి యతస్తేషాం బుద్ధయః సంవేదాశ్చ కలఙ్కితాః సన్తి|

16 They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and for every good work reprobate.

ఈశ్వరస్య జ్ఞానం తే ప్రతిజానన్తి కిన్తు కర్మ్మభిస్తద్ అనఙ్గీకుర్వ్వతే యతస్తే గర్హితా అనాజ్ఞాగ్రాహిణః సర్వ్వసత్కర్మ్మణశ్చాయోగ్యాః సన్తి|
