Titus 1
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Christ Jesus, for the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
அநந்தஜீவநஸ்யாஸா²தோ ஜாதாயா ஈஸ்²வரப⁴க்தே ர்யோக்³யஸ்ய ஸத்யமதஸ்ய யத் தத்வஜ்ஞாநம்’ யஸ்²ச விஸ்²வாஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்யாபி⁴ருசிதலோகை ர்லப்⁴யதே தத³ர்த²ம்’ (aiōnios g166)
2 in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised from the most ancient times, (aiōnios g166)
யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப்ரேரித ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய தா³ஸ: பௌலோ(அ)ஹம்’ ஸாதா⁴ரணவிஸ்²வாஸாத் மம ப்ரக்ரு’தம்’ த⁴ர்ம்மபுத்ரம்’ தீதம்’ ப்ரதி லிக²மி|
3 but in his own seasons manifested his word through the preaching with which I was intrusted by the commandment of God our Saviour:
நிஷ்கபட ஈஸ்²வர ஆதி³காலாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ தத் ஜீவநம்’ ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாதவாந் ஸ்வநிரூபிதஸமயே ச கோ⁴ஷணயா தத் ப்ரகாஸி²தவாந்|
4 to Titus, true child after the common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
மம த்ராதுரீஸ்²வரஸ்யாஜ்ஞயா ச தஸ்ய கோ⁴ஷணம்’ மயி ஸமர்பிதம் அபூ⁴த்| அஸ்மாகம்’ தாத ஈஸ்²வர: பரித்ராதா ப்ரபு⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்²ச துப்⁴யம் அநுக்³ரஹம்’ த³யாம்’ ஸா²ந்திஞ்ச விதரது|
5 For this cause I left thee behind in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed thee;
த்வம்’ யத்³ அஸம்பூர்ணகார்ய்யாணி ஸம்பூரயே ர்மதீ³யாதே³ஸா²ச்ச ப்ரதிநக³ரம்’ ப்ராசீநக³ணாந் நியோஜயேஸ்தத³ர்த²மஹம்’ த்வாம்’ க்ரீத்யுபத்³வீபே ஸ்தா²பயித்வா க³தவாந்|
6 if any one is without reproach, the husband of one wife, having believing children, that are not accused of dissoluteness, or unruly.
தஸ்மாத்³ யோ நரோ (அ)நிந்தி³த ஏகஸ்யா யோஷித: ஸ்வாமீ விஸ்²வாஸிநாம் அபசயஸ்யாவாத்⁴யத்வஸ்ய வா தோ³ஷேணாலிப்தாநாஞ்ச ஸந்தாநாநாம்’ ஜநகோ ப⁴வதி ஸ ஏவ யோக்³ய: |
7 For a bishop must be without reproach, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,
யதோ ஹேதோரத்³யக்ஷேணேஸ்²வரஸ்ய க்³ரு’ஹாத்³யக்ஷேணேவாநிந்த³நீயேந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’| தேந ஸ்வேச்சா²சாரிணா க்ரோதி⁴நா பாநாஸக்தேந ப்ரஹாரகேண லோபி⁴நா வா ந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’
8 but hospitable, a lover of what is good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,
கிந்த்வதிதி²ஸேவகேந ஸல்லோகாநுராகி³ணா விநீதேந ந்யாய்யேந தா⁴ர்ம்மிகேண ஜிதேந்த்³ரியேண ச ப⁴விதவ்யம்’,
9 holding fast the sure word according to what he was taught, that he may be able by sound teaching both to exhort, and to refute the gainsayers.
உபதே³ஸே² ச விஸ்²வஸ்தம்’ வாக்யம்’ தேந தா⁴ரிதவ்யம்’ யத: ஸ யத்³ யதா²ர்தே²நோபதே³ஸே²ந லோகாந் விநேதும்’ விக்⁴நகாரிணஸ்²ச நிருத்தராந் கர்த்தும்’ ஸ²க்நுயாத் தத்³ ஆவஸ்²யகம்’|
10 For there are many unruly vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision;
யதஸ்தே ப³ஹவோ (அ)வாத்⁴யா அநர்த²கவாக்யவாதி³ந: ப்ரவஞ்சகாஸ்²ச ஸந்தி விஸே²ஷதஸ்²சி²ந்நத்வசாம்’ மத்⁴யே கேசித் தாத்³ரு’ஸா² லோகா: ஸந்தி|
11 whose mouths must be stopped, since they overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of base gain.
தேஷாஞ்ச வாக்³ரோத⁴ ஆவஸ்²யகோ யதஸ்தே குத்ஸிதலாப⁴ஸ்யாஸ²யாநுசிதாநி வாக்யாநி ஸி²க்ஷயந்தோ நிகி²லபரிவாராணாம்’ ஸுமதிம்’ நாஸ²யந்தி|
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said: “The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful gluttons.”
தேஷாம்’ ஸ்வதே³ஸீ²ய ஏகோ ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதீ³ வசநமித³முக்தவாந், யதா², க்ரீதீயமாநவா: ஸர்வ்வே ஸதா³ காபட்யவாதி³ந: | ஹிம்’ஸ்ரஜந்துஸமாநாஸ்தே (அ)லஸாஸ்²சோத³ரபா⁴ரத: ||
13 This testimony is true; for which cause rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
ஸாக்ஷ்யமேதத் தத்²யம்’, அதோ ஹேதோஸ்த்வம்’ தாந் கா³ட⁴ம்’ ப⁴ர்த்ஸய தே ச யதா² விஸ்²வாஸே ஸ்வஸ்தா² ப⁴வேயு
14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
ர்யிஹூதீ³யோபாக்²யாநேஷு ஸத்யமதப்⁴ரஷ்டாநாம்’ மாநவாநாம் ஆஜ்ஞாஸு ச மநாம்’ஸி ந நிவேஸ²யேயுஸ்ததா²தி³ஸ²|
15 To the pure all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.
ஸு²சீநாம்’ க்ரு’தே ஸர்வ்வாண்யேவ ஸு²சீநி ப⁴வந்தி கிந்து கலங்கிதாநாம் அவிஸ்²வாஸிநாஞ்ச க்ரு’தே ஸு²சி கிமபி ந ப⁴வதி யதஸ்தேஷாம்’ பு³த்³த⁴ய: ஸம்’வேதா³ஸ்²ச கலங்கிதா: ஸந்தி|
16 They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and for every good work reprobate.
ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஜ்ஞாநம்’ தே ப்ரதிஜாநந்தி கிந்து கர்ம்மபி⁴ஸ்தத்³ அநங்கீ³குர்வ்வதே யதஸ்தே க³ர்ஹிதா அநாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிண: ஸர்வ்வஸத்கர்ம்மணஸ்²சாயோக்³யா: ஸந்தி|
