Titus 1

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Christ Jesus, for the faith of God's elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

അനന്തജീവനസ്യാശാതോ ജാതായാ ഈശ്വരഭക്തേ ര്യോഗ്യസ്യ സത്യമതസ്യ യത് തത്വജ്ഞാനം യശ്ച വിശ്വാസ ഈശ്വരസ്യാഭിരുചിതലോകൈ ർലഭ്യതേ തദർഥം (aiōnios g166)

2 in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised from the most ancient times, (aiōnios g166)

യീശുഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ പ്രേരിത ഈശ്വരസ്യ ദാസഃ പൗലോഽഹം സാധാരണവിശ്വാസാത് മമ പ്രകൃതം ധർമ്മപുത്രം തീതം പ്രതി ലിഖമി|

3 but in his own seasons manifested his word through the preaching with which I was intrusted by the commandment of God our Saviour:

നിഷ്കപട ഈശ്വര ആദികാലാത് പൂർവ്വം തത് ജീവനം പ്രതിജ്ഞാതവാൻ സ്വനിരൂപിതസമയേ ച ഘോഷണയാ തത് പ്രകാശിതവാൻ|

4 to Titus, true child after the common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.

മമ ത്രാതുരീശ്വരസ്യാജ്ഞയാ ച തസ്യ ഘോഷണം മയി സമർപിതമ് അഭൂത്| അസ്മാകം താത ഈശ്വരഃ പരിത്രാതാ പ്രഭു ര്യീശുഖ്രീഷ്ടശ്ച തുഭ്യമ് അനുഗ്രഹം ദയാം ശാന്തിഞ്ച വിതരതു|

5 For this cause I left thee behind in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed thee;

ത്വം യദ് അസമ്പൂർണകാര്യ്യാണി സമ്പൂരയേ ർമദീയാദേശാച്ച പ്രതിനഗരം പ്രാചീനഗണാൻ നിയോജയേസ്തദർഥമഹം ത്വാം ക്രീത്യുപദ്വീപേ സ്ഥാപയിത്വാ ഗതവാൻ|

6 if any one is without reproach, the husband of one wife, having believing children, that are not accused of dissoluteness, or unruly.

തസ്മാദ് യോ നരോ ഽനിന്ദിത ഏകസ്യാ യോഷിതഃ സ്വാമീ വിശ്വാസിനാമ് അപചയസ്യാവാധ്യത്വസ്യ വാ ദോഷേണാലിപ്താനാഞ്ച സന്താനാനാം ജനകോ ഭവതി സ ഏവ യോഗ്യഃ|

7 For a bishop must be without reproach, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,

യതോ ഹേതോരദ്യക്ഷേണേശ്വരസ്യ ഗൃഹാദ്യക്ഷേണേവാനിന്ദനീയേന ഭവിതവ്യം| തേന സ്വേച്ഛാചാരിണാ ക്രോധിനാ പാനാസക്തേന പ്രഹാരകേണ ലോഭിനാ വാ ന ഭവിതവ്യം

8 but hospitable, a lover of what is good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

കിന്ത്വതിഥിസേവകേന സല്ലോകാനുരാഗിണാ വിനീതേന ന്യായ്യേന ധാർമ്മികേണ ജിതേന്ദ്രിയേണ ച ഭവിതവ്യം,

9 holding fast the sure word according to what he was taught, that he may be able by sound teaching both to exhort, and to refute the gainsayers.

ഉപദേശേ ച വിശ്വസ്തം വാക്യം തേന ധാരിതവ്യം യതഃ സ യദ് യഥാർഥേനോപദേശേന ലോകാൻ വിനേതും വിഘ്നകാരിണശ്ച നിരുത്തരാൻ കർത്തും ശക്നുയാത് തദ് ആവശ്യകം|

10 For there are many unruly vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision;

യതസ്തേ ബഹവോ ഽവാധ്യാ അനർഥകവാക്യവാദിനഃ പ്രവഞ്ചകാശ്ച സന്തി വിശേഷതശ്ഛിന്നത്വചാം മധ്യേ കേചിത് താദൃശാ ലോകാഃ സന്തി|

11 whose mouths must be stopped, since they overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of base gain.

തേഷാഞ്ച വാഗ്രോധ ആവശ്യകോ യതസ്തേ കുത്സിതലാഭസ്യാശയാനുചിതാനി വാക്യാനി ശിക്ഷയന്തോ നിഖിലപരിവാരാണാം സുമതിം നാശയന്തി|

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said: “The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful gluttons.”

തേഷാം സ്വദേശീയ ഏകോ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീ വചനമിദമുക്തവാൻ, യഥാ, ക്രീതീയമാനവാഃ സർവ്വേ സദാ കാപട്യവാദിനഃ| ഹിംസ്രജന്തുസമാനാസ്തേ ഽലസാശ്ചോദരഭാരതഃ||

13 This testimony is true; for which cause rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

സാക്ഷ്യമേതത് തഥ്യം, അതോ ഹേതോസ്ത്വം താൻ ഗാഢം ഭർത്സയ തേ ച യഥാ വിശ്വാസേ സ്വസ്ഥാ ഭവേയു

14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

ര്യിഹൂദീയോപാഖ്യാനേഷു സത്യമതഭ്രഷ്ടാനാം മാനവാനാമ് ആജ്ഞാസു ച മനാംസി ന നിവേശയേയുസ്തഥാദിശ|

15 To the pure all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.

ശുചീനാം കൃതേ സർവ്വാണ്യേവ ശുചീനി ഭവന്തി കിന്തു കലങ്കിതാനാമ് അവിശ്വാസിനാഞ്ച കൃതേ ശുചി കിമപി ന ഭവതി യതസ്തേഷാം ബുദ്ധയഃ സംവേദാശ്ച കലങ്കിതാഃ സന്തി|

16 They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and for every good work reprobate.

ഈശ്വരസ്യ ജ്ഞാനം തേ പ്രതിജാനന്തി കിന്തു കർമ്മഭിസ്തദ് അനങ്ഗീകുർവ്വതേ യതസ്തേ ഗർഹിതാ അനാജ്ഞാഗ്രാഹിണഃ സർവ്വസത്കർമ്മണശ്ചായോഗ്യാഃ സന്തി|
