Song of Solomon 3

1 [[M.]] Upon my bed, in the night, I sought him whom my soul loveth; I sought him, but found him not.

Na swoim łożu wśród nocy szukałam tego, którego miłuje moja dusza. Szukałam go, ale go nie znalazłam.

2 I will arise now [[said I]], and go about the city; In the streets and the broad ways will I seek him whom my soul loveth; I sought him, but found him not.

Wstanę więc już i obiegnę miasto, po ulicach i placach będę szukać tego, którego miłuje moja dusza. Szukałam go, ale nie znalazłam.

3 The watchmen who go about the city found me; “Have you seen [[said I]] him whom my soul loveth?”

Znaleźli mnie strażnicy, którzy obchodzili miasto, i [spytałam]: Widzieliście tego, którego miłuje moja dusza?

4 I had but just passed them, When I found him whom my soul loveth; I held him, and would not let him go, Till I had brought him into my mother's house, Into the apartment of her that bore me.

A gdy ledwie od nich odeszłam, zaraz znalazłam tego, którego miłuje moja dusza. Uchwyciłam go i nie puszczę, aż go wprowadzę do domu mojej matki, do pokoju mojej rodzicielki.

5 [[Lov.]] I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem! By the gazelles, and by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till she please.

Zaklinam was, córki Jerozolimy, na sarny i łanie polne: Nie budźcie mego umiłowanego i nie przerywajcie [jego] snu, dopóki nie zechce.

6 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all the powders of the merchant?

Kim jest ta, która wyłania się z pustyni jak słupy dymu, owiana wonią mirry i kadzidła oraz wszelkim wonnym proszkiem od kupca?

7 Behold, the carriage of Solomon! Threescore valiant men are around it, Of the valiant men of Israel.

Oto łoże Salomona, dokoła którego [stoi] sześćdziesięciu dzielnych wojowników spośród dzielnych Izraela.

8 They all wear swords, Being skilled in war. Every one hath his sword girt upon his thigh, On account of danger in the night.

Wszyscy trzymają miecz, wyćwiczeni w boju. Każdy z nich ma swój miecz u boku przez wzgląd na strach nocny.

9 King Solomon made for himself a carriage Of the wood of Lebanon.

Król Salomon uczynił sobie lektykę z drzewa Libanu.

10 The pillars thereof he made of silver, The railing of gold, The seat of purple, Its interior curiously wrought by a lovely one of the daughters of Jerusalem.

Jej słupki uczynił ze srebra, jej pokład ze złota, podniebienie z purpury, a wnętrze wyścielone miłością córek Jerozolimy.

11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion! And behold King Solomon In the crown with which his mother crowned him, In the day of his espousals, In the day of the gladness of his heart.

Wyjdźcie, córki Syjonu, i popatrzcie na króla Salomona w koronie, którą ukoronowała go jego matka w dniu jego zaręczyn i w dniu radości jego serca.
