Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Let us continue in sin, that grace may abound still more?
| אם כן מה נאמר הנעמד בחטא למען ירבה החסד׃ |
2 God forbid! How shall we, who died to sin, live any longer in it?
| חלילה לנו כי מתנו לחטא ואיך נוסיף לחיות בו׃ |
3 Are ye ignorant, that all of us who were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death?
| או האינכם ידעים כי כלנו הנטבלים למשיח ישוע למותו נטבלנו׃ |
4 We then by this baptism into his death were buried with him; that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
| לכן נקברנו אתו בטבילה למות למען כאשר נעור המשיח מן המתים בכבוד האב כן נתהלך גם אנחנו בחיים מחדשים׃ |
5 For if we have been made completely like him in his death, we shall be made like him in his resurrection also;
| כי אם נדבקנו בדמיון מותו אכן גם נהיה דבוקים לתחיתו׃ |
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin;
| באשר ידעים אנחנו כי נצלב אתו האדם הישן אשר בנו למען תבטל גוית החטא לבלתי היותנו עוד עבדים לחטא׃ |
7 for he that hath died hath been set free from sin.
| כי אשר מת הוא נקה מן החטא׃ |
8 And if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him;
| והנה אם מתנו עם המשיח נאמין כי גם נחיה עמו׃ |
9 since we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dieth no more; death hath dominion over him no longer.
| באשר ידענו כי המשיח אחרי אשר נעור מן המתים לא ימות עוד והמות לא ישלט בו עוד׃ |
10 For in that he died, he died to sin once for all; but in that he liveth, he liveth to God.
| כי אשר מת מת לחטא פעם אחת ואשר חי חי הוא לאלהים׃ |
11 Thus do ye too consider yourselves as dead to sin, but alive to God, through Jesus Christ.
| וכן גם אתם חשבו אתכם מתים לחטא וחיים לאלהים במשיח ישוע אדנינו׃ |
12 Let not then sin reign in your mortal body, bringing you into subjection to its lusts,
| אם כן אפוא אל תמלך החטאת בגופכם אשר ימות לנטות אחריה בתאותיו׃ |
13 nor yield up your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but yield up yourselves to God, as being alive from the dead, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
| גם אל תכינו את אבריכם להיות כלי עול לחטא אך תכינו את נפשכם לאלהים כחיים מעם המתים ואבריכם כלי צדקה לאלהים כי החטא לא יוכל למשל עוד בכם יען אינכם תחת יד התורה כי אם תחת יד החסד׃ |
14 For sin shall not hold dominion over you; for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.
15 What then? Are we to sin, because we are not under the Law, but under grace? God forbid!
| ועתה מה הנחטא יען איננו תחת יד התורה כי אם תחת יד החסד חלילה׃ |
16 Know ye not, that whomever ye choose to obey as a master, his bondmen ye are, whether of sin whose fruit is death, or of obedience whose fruit is righteousness?
| הלא ידעתם כי לאשר תתנו את נפשכם להיות עבדיו לסור למשמעתו הן עבדים אתם לאשר תשמעו לו אם לחטא אלי מות אם למשמעת אלי צדקה׃ |
17 But thanks be to God that, though ye were the bondmen of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching which was delivered to you;
| אבל תודת לאלהים כי הייתם עבדי החטא ואחר שמעתם בכל לבבכם אל תכונת הלקח אשר נמסרתם לו׃ |
18 and being made free from sin, ye became the bondmen of righteousness.
| שחררתם מידי החטא לכן השתעבדתם לצדקה׃ |
19 I speak in a way common among men on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as ye once yielded your members as slaves to impurity and to iniquity, in order to commit iniquity, so now yield your members as bondmen to righteousness in order to become holy.
| כדרך בני אדם אני מדבר מפני רפיון בשרכם כי כאשר לפנים הכינותם את אבריכם לעבודת החטאה והרשע להרשיע כן עתה הכינו את אבריכם לעבודת הצדקה להתקדש׃ |
20 For when ye were the slaves of sin, ye were not the bondmen of righteousness.
| כי בעת היותכם עבדי החטא חפשים הייתם מן הצדקה׃ |
21 What fruit then had ye at that time from those things of which ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
| ומה אפוא הפרי שהיה לכם אז מן המעשים אשר עתה תבשו מהם כי אחריתם המות׃ |
