< Romans 1 >
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, set apart to preach the gospel of God,
Pawl, Jesu Kri ih tamna, Sithaw tamthanglok hoih pongah, pahoe ih kami ah kaom, patoeh ih kami ah kawk ih kami mah,
2 which he had promised before by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures,
(to tamthanglok hoih loe kaciim Cabunawk thungah angmah ih tahmaanawk rang hoiah anih mah tangsuek na hoi lokkamhaih to sak boeh, )
3 the gospel concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David as to the flesh,
taksa ah David ih atii ah kaom, a Capa aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri ih tamthang to;
4 and shown with power to be the Son of God as to his spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord;
Muithla ciimcaihaih baktiah, duekhaih thung hoi angthawk moe, thacakhaih hoiah Sithaw Capa ni, tiah taphong:
5 through whom we received grace and the office of an apostle in behalf of his name, in order to produce obedience to the faith among all nations;
Anih ih ahmin pongah, prae kaminawk boih mah lok to tahngaih o moe, tanghaih tawnh o thai hanah, anih rang hoiah ni tahmenhaih hoi patoeh ih kaminawk mah sak ih tok to a hnuk o:
6 among whom are ye also, the called of Jesus Christ;
nangcae doeh Jesu Kri mah kawk ih kami ah nathum o toeng boeh:
7 to all the beloved of God at Rome, called, holy: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sithaw mah palung moe, kaciim kami ah oh han kawk ih, Rom vangpui ah kaom kaminawk boih khaeah, Aicae Ampa Sithaw hoi Angraeng Jesu Kri khae ih monghaih hoi tahmenhaih nangcae khaeah om nasoe.
8 In the first place, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Hmaloe koekah, na tang o haih to long pum ah thuih o boeh pongah, Jesu Kri rang hoiah nangcae boih han, Sithaw khaeah kawnhaih lok ka thuih.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how constantly I make mention of you, always in my prayers
Boeng ai ah nangcae han lawk ka thuih toepsoep, ka palungthin boih hoiah kahoih a Capa ih tamthanglok to ka thuih, tiah a tok ka sak pae ih Sithaw mah panoek.
10 supplicating that, if it be possible, I may at last through the will of God be favored with an opportunity of coming to you.
Sithaw koehhaih hoiah nangcae khae angzoh thai hanah, lawk ka thuih.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, which may be for your confirmation;
Thoemto Muithla tangqum nangcae han pazet moe, hnukkhuem ah tha na cak o thai hanah, nangcae hnuk han ka koeh parai.
12 that is, that I may be edified among you, and you also, through each other's faith, both yours and mine.
To tiah ni aicae mah tanghaih bangah maeto hoi maeto tha angpaek o thai tih.
13 But I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that I often purposed to come to you, though I have been hindered hitherto, that I might have some fruit of my labors among you also, as among the other gentiles.
Nawkamyanawk, kalah Gentelnawk khaeah athaih ka pakhrik baktih toengah, nangcae khaeah doeh athaih ka pakhrik thai toeng hanah, nangcae ohhaih ahmuen ah angzoh han kam sak khing boeh, (toe vaihi khoek to pakaakung oh vop, ) tiah panoeksak han ka koeh.
14 I am debtor both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the wise and the unwise.
Kai loe Grik kaminawk, tuinuen kaham kaminawk, palungha kaminawk hoi palungha ai kaminawk khaeah doeh laiba ka tawnh.
15 So, according to my ability, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also in Rome.
To pongah, Rom vangpui ah kaom nangcae khaeah doeh, ka thuih thai tawk kahoih tamthanglok to thuih hanah ka koeh.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel; for to every believer, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, it is the power of God unto salvation.
Kri ih kahoih tamthanglok pongah azathaih ka tawn ai: kahoih tamthanglok loe tang kaminawk boih pahlong hanah, Sithaw thacakhaih ah oh, hmaloe koekah Judahnawk hanah oh, to pacoengah Gentelnawk han doeh oh.
17 For therein is revealed the righteousness which is of God from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
Katoeng kami loe tanghaih hoiah hing tih, tiah tarik ih oh baktih toengah, tanghaih rang hoiah kaom Sithaw toenghaih loe, tanghaih rang hoiah ni amtueng.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all impiety and unrighteousness of men, who keep down the truth in unrighteousness.
Sithaw palungphuihaih loe van bang hoiah Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk, katoeng ai kaminawk hoi loktang to katoeng ai ah patoh kaminawk boih khaeah amtueng boeh.
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest within them; for God made it manifest to them.
Sithaw mah nihcae khaeah hnuksak pongah, panoek han koi Sithaw ih hmuennawk to nihcae khaeah amtueng pae.
20 For, ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, even his eternal power and divinity, being perceived from his works, are clearly seen, so that they might be without excuse. (aïdios )
Long oh tangsuek na hoi amtueng ai hmuennawk to kamtueng ah hnuk thai boeh, dungzan a thacakhaih hoi Sithaw ah ohhaih to, a sak ih hmuenawk rang hoiah kamtueng ah panoek boeh pongah, a sak o ih zaehaih to nihcae mah angphat o thai mak ai. (aïdios )
21 Because though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful to him; but became perverse in their reasonings, and their senseless minds were darkened;
Nihcae loe Sithaw panoek o, toe Anih to Sithaw baktiah pakoeh o ai, kawnhaih lok doeh thui o ai; nihcae poekhaih loe tidoeh avang ai, nihcae amthuhaih palung loe khoving baktiah tahmuep.
22 professing to be wise, they became fools,
Angmacae hoi angmacae to palungha kami ah poek o, toe nihcae loe kamthu kami ni,
23 and for the glory of the incorruptible God they substituted images of corruptible man, and of birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.
amro thai ai Sithaw lensawkhaih to amro thaih kami baktiah sakcop ih krang, tavaanawk, khok palito kaom moinawk hoi long ah kavak hmuennawk baktiah a sak pakhraih o ving.
24 Wherefore God also gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to debase their bodies with one another;
To pongah angmacae zae sak koehhaih palungthin baktih toengah, angmacae hoi angmacae salakah angmacae ih takpum to azatsak hanah, Sithaw mah nihcae han kaciim ai poekhaih to paek.
25 because they changed the true God for false gods, and adored and worshipped created things rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Nihcae loe loktang Sithaw to amsawn lok hoiah athlaeng o ving moe, dungzan tahamhoihaih ah kaom, Sahkung pongah, sak ih hmuen to a bok o lat. Amen. (aiōn )
26 For this cause God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women indulged in unnatural lust,
Hae pongah Sithaw mah nihcae khaeah kasae sak koehhaih palungthin to paek: nongpatanawk loe sakzong ih hmuen baktiah sah o ai ah, sakzong ai ih hmuen to a sak o lat:
27 and in like manner the men also, neglecting the natural use of the female, burned with lust for one another, men with men practising that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due recompense of their error.
to baktih toengah nongpanawk mah doeh, nongpata hoi angkom zonghaih to pahnawt o moe, maeto hoi maeto zae sak koehhaih palungthin hmai baktiah bet o pongah, azat kaom hmuen ah kaom nongpa hoi nongpa zaehaih to a sak o, to tiah a sakpazae o ih hmuen baktih toengah nihcae mah atho to hnuk o.
28 And as they did not choose to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do things which are shameful;
Nihcae loe Sithaw panoek han koeh o ai pongah, sak kahoih ai hmuennawk to saksak hanah, Sithaw mah kamro poekhaih to nihcae hanah paek;
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, malice, covetousness, wickedness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; backbiters,
nihcae loe zaehaih congca, toeng ai ah khosakhaih, zu sava laep ah nongpa hoi nongpata zae sakhaih, poeksethaih, kamthlai hmoek koehhaih, hnukmahaih, uthaih, humhaih, angaekhaih, alinghaih, poeksethaih, kami pronghaih hoiah koi o,
30 slanderers, hated of God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of mischief, disobedient to parents,
ahmin kasae thui kami, Sithaw hnuma kami, kami khet patoek kami, poeksang kami, amoek kami, kahoih ai hmuennawk sah kami, amno hoi ampa lok tahngai ai kami,
31 senseless, faithless, without natural affection, without pity;
panoek thai ai kami, oepthok ai kami, amlunghaih tawn ai kami, misa koeh kami, palungnathaih tawn ai kami ah oh o.
32 who, although knowing the ordinance of God, that they who practise such things deserve death, not only do them themselves, but approve of those who do them.
To baktih toksah kami loe duek han krak, tiah Sithaw lokcaekhaih to nihcae mah panoek o, toe nihcae loe to baktih hmuennawk sak khue to khawt ai, to baktih hmuen sak hanah kaminawk to thapaek o.
