Revelation 9
1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fallen out of heaven to the earth, and to him was given the key of the pit of the abyss; (Abyssos g12)
Le cinquième ange sonna de la trompette, et je vis du ciel une étoile qui était tombée sur la terre. La clé du puits de l'abîme lui fut donnée. (Abyssos g12)
2 and he opened the pit of the abyss. And there went up a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos g12)
Il ouvrit le puits de l'abîme, et de la fumée monta du puits, comme la fumée d'une fournaise ardente. Le soleil et l'air s'obscurcirent à cause de la fumée qui sortait du puits. (Abyssos g12)
3 And out of the smoke went forth locusts upon the earth, and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power;
Alors, de la fumée sortirent des sauterelles sur la terre, et un pouvoir leur fut donné, comme un pouvoir aux scorpions de la terre.
4 and it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only those men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads;
On leur dit qu'elles ne devaient pas faire de mal à l'herbe de la terre, ni à aucune verdure, ni à aucun arbre, mais seulement aux personnes qui n'ont pas le sceau de Dieu sur le front.
5 and it was given to them that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when it hath struck a man.
Ils reçurent le pouvoir, non pas de les tuer, mais de les tourmenter pendant cinq mois. Leur tourment était semblable au tourment d'un scorpion quand il frappe une personne.
6 And in those days men will seek death, and shall not find it; and will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
En ces jours-là, les gens chercheront la mort, et ils ne la trouveront pas. Ils désireront mourir, et la mort les fuira.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men;
Les sauterelles avaient la forme de chevaux préparés pour la guerre. Sur leurs têtes il y avait quelque chose comme des couronnes d'or, et leurs visages étaient comme des visages d'hommes.
8 and they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
Elles avaient des cheveux comme des cheveux de femme, et leurs dents étaient comme celles des lions.
9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
Ils avaient des cuirasses comme des cuirasses de fer. Le bruit de leurs ailes était comme le bruit de beaucoup de chars et de chevaux qui se précipitent à la guerre.
10 And they have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men five months.
Ils avaient des queues semblables à celles des scorpions, avec des aiguillons. Dans leurs queues, ils ont le pouvoir de faire du mal aux hommes pendant cinq mois.
11 They have over them a king, the angel of the abyss, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek he hath for his name Apollyon. (Abyssos g12)
Ils ont sur eux comme roi l'ange de l'abîme. Son nom en hébreu est « Abaddon », mais en grec, il porte le nom d' « Apollyon ». (Abyssos g12)
12 The first woe is past; behold, two woes more are yet to come.
Le premier malheur est passé. Voici, il y a encore deux malheurs qui viennent après celui-ci.
13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice out of the four horns of the golden altar, which is before God,
Le sixième ange sonna de la trompette. Et j'entendis une voix venant des cornes de l'autel d'or qui est devant Dieu,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Loose the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.
et disant au sixième ange qui avait la trompette: « Libérez les quatre anges qui sont liés au grand fleuve d'Euphrate! »
15 And the four angels were loosed, who were in readiness for the hour, and day, and month, and year, to slay the third part of men.
Les quatre anges furent libérés qui avaient été préparés pour cette heure, ce jour, ce mois et cette année, afin qu'ils tuent un tiers de l'humanité.
16 And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred thousand thousand; I heard the number of them.
Le nombre des armées des cavaliers était de deux cent millions. J'en entendis le nombre.
17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of a fiery, and a dark blue, and a brimstone color; and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions, and out of their mouths issued fire, and smoke, and brimstone.
C'est ainsi que je vis dans la vision les chevaux et ceux qui les montaient, ayant des cuirasses d'un rouge ardent, d'un bleu d'hyacinthe et d'un jaune de soufre; et les têtes des chevaux ressemblaient à des têtes de lions. De leurs bouches sortent du feu, de la fumée et du soufre.
18 By these three plagues was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and the smoke, and the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Par ces trois fléaux, un tiers du genre humain fut tué: par le feu, la fumée et le soufre, qui sortaient de leurs bouches.
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouth, and in their tails; for their tails are like to serpents, having heads; and with them they do hurt.
Car la puissance des chevaux est dans leurs bouches et dans leurs queues. Car leurs queues sont comme des serpents, et elles ont des têtes; et c'est avec elles qu'ils font du mal.
20 And the rest of men, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can neither see; nor hear, nor walk;
Le reste de l'humanité, qui n'a pas été tué par ces fléaux, ne s'est pas repenti des œuvres de ses mains pour ne pas adorer les démons et les idoles d'or, d'argent, d'airain, de pierre et de bois, qui ne peuvent ni voir, ni entendre, ni marcher.
21 and they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Ils ne se sont pas repentis de leurs meurtres, de leurs enchantements, de leur immoralité sexuelle, ni de leurs vols.
