Revelation 16
1 And I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go, and pour out the seven vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
Nun hörte ich eine laute Stimme aus dem Tempel zu den sieben Engeln sagen: "Geht, gießt jetzt die sieben Schalen des Zornes Gottes auf die Erde aus!"
2 And the first departed, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and who worshipped his image.
Da ging der erste Engel hin und goß seine Schale auf die Erde. Da kamen bösartige, verderbliche Geschwüre auf alle, die des Tieres Zeichen trugen und sein Bild anbeteten.
3 And the second poured out his vial into the sea; and it became blood, as of a dead man, and every living thing died, that was in the sea.
Der zweite Engel goß seine Schale auf das Meer. Da wurde es zu Blut, wie Leichenblut, und alle Lebewesen, die im Meer waren, starben.
4 And the third poured out his vial into the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
Der dritte Engel goß seine Schale auf die Flüsse und die Wasserquellen. Da wurden sie in Blut verwandelt.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and wast holy, because thou hast judged thus;
Dann hörte ich den Engel der Gewässer sagen: "Gerecht bist du, der ist und der da war, du Heiliger, daß du also gerichtet hast!
6 for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; they deserve it.
Weil sie der Heiligen und Propheten Blut vergossen haben, hast du auch Blut sie trinken lassen. Sie haben's so verdient."
7 And I heard the altar saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty! true and righteous are thy judgments.
Und ich hörte den Altar sagen: "Ja, Herr Gott, du Allgewaltiger, wahrhaftig und gerecht sind deine Urteilssprüche."
8 And the fourth poured out his vial upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire;
Der vierte Engel goß seine Schale auf die Sonne, und sie empfing Gewalt, die Menschen mit Feuerglut zu quälen.
9 and men were scorched with great heat. And men blasphemed the name of God, who had the power over these plagues; and they repented not, to give him glory.
Da wurden die Menschen von gewaltiger Glut versengt. Trotzdem lästerten sie den Namen Gottes, der Macht hat über diese Plagen, und bekehrten sich nicht dazu, ihm Ehre zu geben.
10 And the fifth poured out his vial upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Der fünfte Engel goß seine Schale auf den Thron des Tieres. Da ward sein Reich mit Finsternis bedeckt. Ja die Menschen zerbissen sich vor Schmerz die Zungen
11 and blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their pains and because of their sores; and they repented not of their deeds.
und lästerten den Gott des Himmels wegen ihrer Schmerzen und Geschwüre. Aber von ihren bösen Werken bekehrten sie sich nicht.
12 And the sixth poured out his vial upon the great river, the Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings who are from the rising of the sun might be prepared.
Der sechste Engel goß seine Schale auf den großen Euphratstrom. Da trocknete sein Wasser aus, damit den Königen, die von Osten kommen sollen, der Weg gebahnt würde.
13 And I saw come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;
Dann sah ich aus des Drachen Maul und aus des Tieres Maul und aus dem Mund des falschen Propheten drei unreine Geister kommen, die Fröschen ähnlich waren
14 for they are the spirits of demons, working signs, which go forth to the kings of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God l Almighty.
- es gibt ja böse Geister, die Wunderzeichen tun —. Die zogen aus zu den Königen der ganzen Erde, um sie zu sammeln für den Kampf, der an dem großen Tag Gottes, des Allgewaltigen, gehalten werden soll.
15 Behold, I come as a thief; blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, that he may not walk naked, and his shame be seen.
"Sieh, ich komme wie ein Dieb! Selig ist, der wacht und seine Kleider bereit hat, damit er nicht nackt gehen und seine Blöße zeigen müsse!"
16 And he gathered them together into the place called in the Hebrew tongue, Harmegedon.
Die bösen Geister sammelten die Könige an dem Ort, der auf hebräisch Harmagedon heißt.
17 And the seventh poured out his vial upon the air; and there came forth a loud voice from the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Der siebente Engel goß seine Schale in die Luft. Da kam eine laute Stimme aus dem Tempel vom Thron her, die sprach: "Es ist geschehen!"
18 And there followed lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and there was a great earthquake, such as there was not since there was a man upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Nun folgten Blitze und laute Donnerschläge; und es entstand ein großes Erdbeben, wie noch nie eins dagewesen ist, solange Menschen auf Erden wohnen, so furchtbar und so schrecklich!
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Die große Stadt barst in drei Teile auseinander, und die Städte der Völker sanken in Trümmer. So gedachte Gott des großen Babylon und reichte ihm dar den Becher des Glutweins seines Zornes.
20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were found;
Alle Inseln verschwanden, und Berge waren nicht mehr zu sehen.
21 and there came down from heaven upon men a great storm of hail, every stone weighing about a talent; and men blasphemed God on account of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
Große Hagelstücke, etwa einen halben Zentner schwer, fielen auf die Menschen nieder. Aber die Menschen lästerten Gott wegen der Plage des Hagelwetters, denn diese Plage war sehr groß.
