Revelation 16
1 And I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go, and pour out the seven vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
J'entendis du temple une voix forte qui disait aux sept anges: « Allez, versez sur la terre les sept coupes de la colère de Dieu. »
2 And the first departed, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and who worshipped his image.
La première alla répandre sa coupe sur la terre, et elle devint un ulcère douloureux pour les gens qui avaient la marque de la bête et qui adoraient son image.
3 And the second poured out his vial into the sea; and it became blood, as of a dead man, and every living thing died, that was in the sea.
Le second ange versa sa coupe dans la mer, qui devint du sang comme celui d'un mort. Tous les êtres vivants de la mer moururent.
4 And the third poured out his vial into the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
Le troisième versa sa coupe dans les fleuves et les sources d'eau, et ils devinrent du sang.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and wast holy, because thou hast judged thus;
J'entendis l'ange des eaux qui disait: « Tu es juste, toi qui es et qui étais, ô Saint, car tu as jugé ces choses.
6 for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; they deserve it.
Car ils ont répandu le sang des saints et des prophètes, et tu leur as donné du sang à boire. Ils méritent cela. »
7 And I heard the altar saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty! true and righteous are thy judgments.
J'ai entendu l'autel dire: « Oui, Seigneur Dieu, le Tout-Puissant, tes jugements sont vrais et justes. »
8 And the fourth poured out his vial upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire;
Le quatrième versa sa coupe sur le soleil, et il lui fut donné de brûler les hommes par le feu.
9 and men were scorched with great heat. And men blasphemed the name of God, who had the power over these plagues; and they repented not, to give him glory.
Les gens furent brûlés par une grande chaleur, et les gens blasphémèrent le nom de Dieu qui a le pouvoir sur ces fléaux. Ils ne se sont pas repentis et ne lui ont pas rendu gloire.
10 And the fifth poured out his vial upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Le cinquième versa sa coupe sur le trône de la bête, et son royaume fut obscurci. Ils se rongeaient la langue à cause de la douleur,
11 and blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their pains and because of their sores; and they repented not of their deeds.
et ils blasphémaient le Dieu du ciel à cause de leurs douleurs et de leurs ulcères. Ils ne se sont toujours pas repentis de leurs œuvres.
12 And the sixth poured out his vial upon the great river, the Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings who are from the rising of the sun might be prepared.
Le sixième versa sa coupe sur le grand fleuve, l'Euphrate. Ses eaux tarirent, afin que le chemin fût préparé pour les rois qui viendront du soleil levant.
13 And I saw come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;
Je vis sortir de la bouche du dragon, de la bouche de la bête et de la bouche du faux prophète, trois esprits impurs, semblables à des grenouilles;
14 for they are the spirits of demons, working signs, which go forth to the kings of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God l Almighty.
car ce sont des esprits de démons, qui font des prodiges, et qui vont vers les rois de toute la terre habitée, afin de les rassembler pour le combat du grand jour de Dieu le Tout-Puissant.
15 Behold, I come as a thief; blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, that he may not walk naked, and his shame be seen.
« Voici, je viens comme un voleur. Heureux celui qui veille et qui garde ses vêtements, afin qu'il ne marche pas nu, et qu'on ne voie pas sa honte. »
16 And he gathered them together into the place called in the Hebrew tongue, Harmegedon.
Il les rassembla dans le lieu qui s'appelle en hébreu « Harmagedon ».
17 And the seventh poured out his vial upon the air; and there came forth a loud voice from the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Le septième versa sa coupe dans l'air. Et une voix forte sortit du temple du ciel, du trône, en disant: « C'est fait! ».
18 And there followed lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and there was a great earthquake, such as there was not since there was a man upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Il y eut des éclairs, des sons, des tonnerres, et un grand tremblement de terre, tel qu'il n'y en a jamais eu depuis qu'il y a des hommes sur la terre, un tremblement de terre si grand et si puissant.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
La grande ville fut divisée en trois parties, et les villes des nations tombèrent. On se souvint de Babylone la grande aux yeux de Dieu, pour lui donner la coupe du vin de l'ardeur de sa colère.
20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were found;
Toutes les îles s'enfuirent, et les montagnes ne furent pas retrouvées.
21 and there came down from heaven upon men a great storm of hail, every stone weighing about a talent; and men blasphemed God on account of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
De gros grêlons, du poids d'un talent, tombaient du ciel sur les gens. On blasphémait Dieu à cause du fléau de la grêle, car ce fléau était extrêmement violent.
