Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

Dichoso el hombre que no anda en el consejo de los malvados, ni se detiene en el camino de los pecadores, ni sienta en la silla de los burlones;

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

sino que su deleite está en la ley de Yahvé. En su ley medita de día y noche.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

Será como un árbol plantado junto a las corrientes de agua, que produce su fruto en su temporada, cuya hoja tampoco se marchita. Todo lo que haga prosperará.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

Los malvados no son así, sino que son como la paja que el viento se lleva.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

Por lo tanto, los impíos no levantarán en el juicio, ni los pecadores en la congregación de los justos.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

Porque Yahvé conoce el camino de los justos, pero el camino de los impíos perecerá.
