Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

Bem-aventurado o homem que não anda no conselho dos maus, nem fica parado no caminho dos pecadores, nem se senta junto dos escarnecedores.

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

Mas sim, que tem seu prazer na Lei do SENHOR; e medita em sua Lei de dia e de noite.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

Porque ele será como uma árvore, plantada junto a ribeiros de águas, que dá fruto a seu [devido] tempo, e suas folhas não caem; e tudo quanto fizer prosperará.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

Os maus não são assim; mas são como a palha que o vento dispersa.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

Por isso os maus não subsistirão no julgamento, nem os pecadores no ajuntamento dos justos.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

Porque o SENHOR conhece o caminho dos justos; porém o caminho dos maus perecerá.
