Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

धन्य हुन् तिनीहरू, जो दुष्‍टहरूको सल्‍लाहमा हिँड्दैनन्, जो पापीहरूको मार्गमा खडा हुँदैनन्, जो गिल्‍ला गर्नेहरूको सङ्गतमा बस्दैनन्।

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

तर तिनीहरू याहवेहको व्यवस्थामा नै प्रसन्‍न रहन्छन्, र दिनरात उहाँकै व्यवस्थामा नै मनन गर्छन्।

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

तिनीहरू नदीको किनारमा रोपेको रूखजस्तै हुन्छन्, जसले आफ्नो ऋतुमा फल दिन्छ; र जसको पात कहिल्यै ओइलाउँदैन; तिनीहरूले जे काम गर्छन्, त्यसमा सफल हुन्छन्।

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

दुष्‍टहरू त्यस्ता हुँदैनन्; तर तिनीहरूचाहिँ बतासले उडाइलैजाने भुसजस्तै हुन्छन्।

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

यसकारण दुष्‍टहरू न्यायमा खडा रहनेछैनन्, न त धर्मीहरूको सभामा पापीहरूले स्थान पाउनेछन्।

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

किनकि याहवेहले धर्मीहरूको मार्गको रक्षा गर्नुहुन्छ; तर दुष्‍टहरूको मार्गले विनाशमा पुर्‍याउँछ।
