Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

१आशीर्वादित आहे तो मनुष्य, जो दुष्टांच्या सल्ल्याने चालत नाही, किंवा पापी जनांच्या मार्गात उभा राहत नाही, आणि थट्टा करणाऱ्यांच्या सभेत बसत नाही.

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

२परंतु परमेश्वराच्या शास्त्रात तो आनंद मानतो, आणि त्याच्या नियमशास्त्रावर तो रात्र व दिवस ध्यान लावतो.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

३तो पाण्याच्या प्रवाहाजवळ लावलेल्या, आपल्या ऋतुत फळ देणाऱ्या, ज्याची पाने कधी कोमेजत नाहीत, अशा झाडासारखा होईल व तो जे काही करेल ते साध्य होईल.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

४परंतु दुष्ट लोक असे नसतात, ते वाऱ्याने उडून जाणाऱ्या भुशासारखे असतात.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

५म्हणून दुष्ट लोक न्यायात व पापी न्यायींच्या सभेत उभे राहावयाचे नाहीत.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

६कारण परमेश्वर न्यायींच्या मार्गाला मंजूरी देतो. परंतु दुष्टांचा मार्ग नष्ट होईल.
