Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

Heureux l'homme qui ne suit pas les conseils des méchants, ni se tenir sur le chemin des pécheurs, ni s'asseoir sur le siège des moqueurs;

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

mais son plaisir est dans la loi de Yahvé. Il médite jour et nuit sur sa loi.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

Il sera comme un arbre planté près des ruisseaux d'eau, qui produit son fruit en sa saison, dont la feuille ne se fane pas non plus. Tout ce qu'il fait sera prospère.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

Les méchants ne sont pas ainsi, mais sont comme la paille que le vent chasse.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

C'est pourquoi les méchants ne tiendront pas dans le jugement, ni les pécheurs dans la congrégation des justes.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

Car Yahvé connaît la voie des justes, mais la voie des méchants périra.
