Psalms 97
1 The LORD reigneth, let the earth rejoice! Let the multitude of isles be glad!
Yahwe anatawala; nchi ishangilie; visiwa vingi na vifurahi.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him; Justice and equity are the foundation of his throne.
Mawingu na giza vyamzunguka. Haki na hukumu ndio msingi wa kiti chake.
3 Before him goeth a fire, Which burneth up his enemies around.
Moto huenda mbele zake nao huwateketeza adui zake pande zote.
4 His lightnings illumine the world; The earth beholdeth and trembleth.
Taa yake huangaza ulimwengu; nchi huona na kutetemeka.
5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
Milima huyeyuka kama nta mbele za Yahwe, Bwana wa dunia yote.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, And all nations behold his glory.
Mbingu hutangaza haki yake, na mataifa yote huuona utukufu wake.
7 Confounded be they who worship graven images, Who glory in idols! To him, all ye gods, bow down!
Wale wote waabuduo sanamu za kuchonga wataaibishwa, wale wanao jivuna katika sanamu zisizo na maana mpigieni yeye magoti, enyi miungu wote!
8 Zion hath heard, and is glad, And the daughters of Judah exult On account of thy judgments, O LORD!
Sayuni ilisikia na kufurahi, na miji ya Yuda ilishangilia kwa sababu ya amri zako za haki, Yahwe.
9 For thou, O LORD! art most high above all the earth; Thou art far exalted above all gods!
Kwa kuwa wewe, Yahwe, ndiye uliye juu sana, juu ya nchi yote. Umetukuka sana juu ya miungu yote.
10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil! He preserveth the lives of his servants, And delivereth them from the hand of the wicked.
Ninyi ambao mnampenda Yahwe, chukieni uovu! Yeye hulinda uhai wa watakatifu wake, naye huwatoa mikononi mwa waovu.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, And joy for the upright in heart.
Nuru imepandwa kwa ajili ya wenye haki na furaha kwa ajili ya wanyoofu wa moyo.
12 Rejoice, O ye righteous, in the LORD, And praise his holy name!
Furahini katika Yahwe, enyi wenye haki; na mpeni shukurani mkumbukapo utakatifu wake.
