Psalms 95
1 O come, let us sing to the LORD; Let us raise a voice of joy to the rock of our salvation!
Venez, chantons avec allégresse à l’Éternel! Poussons des cris de joie vers le rocher de notre salut.
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving, And sing joyfully to him with psalms!
Allons au-devant de lui avec des louanges, Faisons retentir des cantiques en son honneur!
3 For Jehovah is a great God; Yea, a great king over all gods.
Car l’Éternel est un grand Dieu, Il est un grand roi au-dessus de tous les dieux.
4 In his hands are the depths of the earth; His also are the heights of the mountains.
Il tient dans sa main les profondeurs de la terre, Et les sommets des montagnes sont à lui.
5 The sea is his, and he made it; The dry land also his hands formed.
La mer est à lui, c’est lui qui l’a faite; La terre aussi, ses mains l’ont formée.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down! Let us kneel before the LORD, our maker!
Venez, prosternons-nous et humilions-nous, Fléchissons le genou devant l’Éternel, notre créateur!
7 For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture and the flock of his hand. O that ye would now hear his voice!
Car il est notre Dieu, Et nous sommes le peuple de son pâturage, Le troupeau que sa main conduit… Oh! Si vous pouviez écouter aujourd’hui sa voix!
8 “Harden not your hearts as at Meribah [[the strife]], As in the day of temptation [[Massah]] in the wilderness,
N’endurcissez pas votre cœur, comme à Meriba, Comme à la journée de Massa, dans le désert,
9 Where your fathers tempted me And tried me, although they had seen my works.
Où vos pères me tentèrent, M’éprouvèrent, quoiqu’ils vissent mes œuvres.
10 Forty years was I offended with that generation: And I said, 'They are a people of a perverse heart, And who have no regard to my ways.'
Pendant quarante ans j’eus cette race en dégoût, Et je dis: C’est un peuple dont le cœur est égaré; Ils ne connaissent pas mes voies.
11 Therefore I sware, in my wrath, That they should not enter into my rest.”
Aussi je jurai dans ma colère: Ils n’entreront pas dans mon repos!
