Psalms 94
1 O LORD! thou God of vengeance! O thou God of vengeance! shine forth!
Ó Deus das vinganças, SENHOR Deus das vinganças, mostra-te com teu brilho!
2 Rouse thyself, thou judge of the earth! Render a recompense to the proud!
Exalta-te, ó Juiz da terra! Retribui com punição aos arrogantes.
3 How long, O LORD! shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?
Até quando os perversos, SENHOR, até quando os perversos se alegrarão?
4 How long shall their lips pour forth insolence? How long shall all the evil-doers boast?
Eles falam [demais], e dizem palavras soberbas; todos os que praticam a maldade se orgulham.
5 O LORD! they trample upon thy people, And oppress thine inheritance!
Eles despedaçam ao teu povo, SENHOR, e humilham a tua herança.
6 They slay the widow, and the stranger, And murder the fatherless;
Eles matam a viúva e o estrangeiro, e tiram a vida dos órfãos.
7 And they say, “The LORD doth not see, The God of Jacob doth not regard!”
E dizem: O SENHOR não vê [isso], e o Deus de Jacó não está prestando atenção.
8 Be instructed, ye most stupid of mankind! O when, ye fools, will ye be wise?
Entendei, ó tolos dentre o povo; e vós [que sois] loucos, quando sereis sábios?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Por acaso aquele que criou os ouvidos não ouviria? Aquele que formou os olhos não veria?
10 He that chastiseth nations, shall not he punish? He that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
Aquele que disciplina as nações não castigaria? É ele o que ensina o conhecimento ao homem.
11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of men, That they are vanity.
O SENHOR conhece os pensamentos do homem, que são inúteis.
12 Happy the man, O LORD! whom thou correctest, Whom by thy teaching thou makest wise;
Bem-aventurado é o homem a quem tu disciplinas, SENHOR, e em tua Lei o ensinas;
13 To give him peace in the days of adversity, Until a pit be digged for the wicked!
Para tu lhe dares descanso dos dias de aflição, até que seja cavada a cova para o perverso.
14 For the LORD will not forsake his people, Nor abandon his own inheritance.
Pois o SENHOR não abandonará o seu povo, nem desamparará a sua herança.
15 For judgment shall return to justice, And all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Porque o juízo restaurará a justiça, e todos os corretos de coração o seguirão.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evil-doers?
Quem se levantará em meu favor contra os malfeitores? Quem se porá em meu favor contra os praticantes de perversidade?
17 If the LORD had not been my help, I had well nigh dwelt in the land of silence.
Se o SENHOR não tivesse sido meu socorro, minha alma logo teria vindo a morar no silêncio [da morte].
18 When I think that my foot is slipping, Thy goodness, O LORD! holdeth me up.
Quando eu dizia: Meu pé está escorregando; Tua bondade, ó SENHOR, me sustentava.
19 In the multitude of anxieties within me, Thy consolations revive my soul.
Quando minhas preocupações se multiplicavam dentro de mim, teus consolos confortaram a minha alma.
20 Shall with thee be allied the throne of iniquity, Which deviseth mischief against law?
Por acaso teria comunhão contigo o trono da maldade, que faz leis opressivas?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.
Muitos se juntam contra a alma do justo, e condenam o sangue inocente.
22 But the LORD is my fortress, And my God the rock of my refuge.
Mas o SENHOR é meu alto retiro, e meu Deus a rocha de meu refúgio.
23 He will bring upon them their own iniquity; Yea, through their own wickedness he will cut them off; Yea, the LORD, our God, will cut them off.
E ele fará voltar sobre eles suas próprias perversidades, e por suas maldades ele os destruirá; o SENHOR nosso Deus os destruirá.
