Psalms 91

1 He who sitteth under the shelter of the Most High Maketh his abode in the shadow of the Almighty.

Celui qui s'abrite sous la protection du Très-Haut repose à l'ombre du Tout-Puissant.

2 I say to the LORD, Thou art my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.

Je dis à Yahweh: " Tu es mon refuge et ma forteresse, mon Dieu en qui je me confie. "

3 Surely he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the wasting pestilence;

Car c'est lui qui te délivre du filet de l'oiseleur et de la peste funeste.

4 He will cover thee with his feathers, And under his wings shalt thou find refuge; His faithfulness shall be thy shield and buckler.

Il te couvrira de ses ailes, et sous ses plumes tu trouveras un refuge. Sa fidélité est un bouclier et une cuirasse.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night, Nor of the arrow that flieth by day;

Tu n'auras à craindre ni les terreurs de la nuit, ni la flèche qui vole pendant le jour,

6 Nor of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor of the plague that destroyeth at noonday.

ni la peste qui marche dans les ténèbres, ni la contagion qui ravage en plein midi.

7 A thousand shall fall by thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But thee it shall not touch.

Que mille tombent à ton côté, et dix mille à ta droite, tu ne seras pas atteint.

8 Thou shalt only behold with thine eyes, And see the recompense of the wicked.

De tes yeux seulement tu regarderas, et tu verras la rétribution des méchants.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD thy refuge, And the Most High thy habitation,

Car tu as dit: " Tu es mon refuge, Yahweh! " tu as fait du Très-Haut ton asile.

10 No evil shall befall thee, Nor any plague come near thy dwelling.

Le malheur ne viendra pas jusqu'à toi, aucun fléau n'approchera de ta tente.

11 For he will give his angels charge over thee, To guard thee in all thy ways.

Car il ordonnera à ses anges de te garder dans toutes tes voies.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Ils te porteront sur leurs mains, de peur que ton pied ne heurte contre la pierre.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder; The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under foot.

Tu marcheras sur le lion et sur l'aspic, tu fouleras le lionceau et le dragon. —

14 “Because he loveth me, I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knoweth my name.

" Puisqu'il s'est attaché à moi, je le délivrerai; je le protégerai, puisqu'il connaît mon nom.

15 When he calleth upon me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and bring him to honor.

Il m'invoquera et je l'exaucerai; je serai avec lui dans la détresse. " Je le délivrerai et le glorifierai.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.”

Je le rassasierai de longs jours, et je lui ferai voir mon salut. "
