< Psalms 86 >

1 “A prayer of David.” Incline thine ear, O LORD! and hear me, For I am poor and distressed!
A Prayer of David. Bow down thy ear, O LORD, hear me: for I [am] poor and needy.
2 Preserve my life, for I am devoted to thee! Save, O thou my God! thy servant who trusteth in thee!
Preserve my soul; for I [am] holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
3 Have pity upon me, O Lord! For to thee do I cry daily!
Be merciful to me, O LORD: for I cry to thee daily.
4 Revive the soul of thy servant, For to thee, O Lord! do I lift up my soul!
Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for to thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; Yea, rich in mercy to all that call upon thee!
For thou, LORD, [art] good, and ready to forgive; and abundant in mercy to all them that call upon thee.
6 Give ear, O LORD! to my prayer, And attend to the voice of my supplication!
Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I call upon thee, For thou dost answer me!
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like thee, O Lord! And there are no works like thy works!
Among the gods [there is] none like thee, O LORD; neither [are there any works] like thy works.
9 All the nations which thou hast made must come and worship before thee, O Lord! And glorify thy name!
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O LORD; and shall glorify thy name.
10 For great art thou, and wondrous are thy works; Thou alone art God!
For thou [art] great, and doest wondrous things: thou [art] God alone.
11 Teach me, O LORD! thy way, That I may walk in thy truth; Unite all my heart to fear thy name!
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord, my God! with my whole heart; I will give glory to thy name for ever!
I will praise thee, O LORD my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
13 For thy kindness to me hath been great; Thou hast delivered me from the depths of the underworld! (Sheol h7585)
For great [is] thy mercy towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. (Sheol h7585)
14 O God! the proud have risen against me; Bands of cruel men seek my life, And set not thee before their eyes.
O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent [men] have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
15 But thou, O Lord! art a God full of compassion and kindness, Long-suffering, rich in mercy and truth!
But thou, O LORD, [art] a God full of compassion, and gracious; long-suffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.
16 Look upon me, and have compassion upon me! Give thy strength to thy servant, And save the son of thy handmaid!
O turn to me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.
17 Show me a token for good, That my enemies may see it and be confounded; Because thou, O LORD! helpest and comfortest me!
Show me a token for good; that they who hate me may see [it], and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast helped me, and comforted me.
