Psalms 66
1 “For the leader of the music. A psalm.” Shout joyfully unto God. all ye lands!
Veisuunjohtajalle; laulu, virsi. Kohottakaa Jumalalle riemuhuuto, kaikki maa,
2 Sing ye the honor of his name; Make his praise glorious!
veisatkaa hänen nimensä kunniaa, antakaa hänelle kunnia ja ylistys.
3 Say unto God, How terrible are thy doings! Through the greatness of thy power thine enemies are suppliants to thee!
Sanokaa Jumalalle: "Kuinka peljättävät ovat sinun tekosi!" Sinun suuren voimasi tähden sinun vihollisesi matelevat sinun edessäsi.
4 Let all the earth worship thee; Let it sing praise to thee, let it sing praise to thy name! (Pause)
Kaikki maa kumartakoon sinua ja veisatkoon sinun kiitostasi, veisatkoon sinun nimesi kiitosta. (Sela)
5 Come, behold the works of God! How terrible his doings among the sons of men!
Tulkaa ja katsokaa Jumalan töitä: hän on peljättävä teoissansa ihmisten lapsia kohtaan.
6 He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the deep on foot; Then we rejoiced in him.
Meren hän muutti kuivaksi maaksi, jalkaisin käytiin virran poikki; silloin me iloitsimme hänestä.
7 By his power he ruleth for ever; His eyes are fixed upon the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves! (Pause)
Hän hallitsee voimallansa iankaikkisesti, hänen silmänsä vartioitsevat kansoja; niskoittelijat älkööt nostako päätänsä. (Sela)
8 O bless our God, ye nations. And make the voice of his praise to be heard!
Kiittäkää, te kansat, meidän Jumalaamme, korkealle kaiuttakaa hänen ylistystänsä.
9 It is he who preserveth our lives, And suffereth not our feet to stumble.
Hän antaa meidän sielullemme elämän eikä salli meidän jalkamme horjua.
10 Thou hast, indeed, proved us, O God! Thou hast tried us as silver is tried.
Sillä sinä, Jumala, olet koetellut meitä, olet sulattanut meitä, niinkuin hopea sulatetaan.
11 Thou broughtest us into a snare, And didst lay a heavy burden upon our backs;
Sinä veit meidät verkkoon, panit kuorman meidän lanteillemme.
12 Thou didst cause men to ride upon our heads, And we have gone through fire and water: But thou hast brought us to a place of abundance.
Sinä annoit ihmisten ajaa päämme päällitse, me jouduimme tuleen ja veteen. Mutta sinä veit meidät yltäkylläisyyteen.
13 I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings! I will pay thee my vows, —
Minä tuon sinun huoneeseesi polttouhreja, täytän sinulle lupaukseni,
14 The vows which my lips uttered. Which my mouth promised in my trouble.
joihin minun huuleni avautuivat ja jotka minun suuni hädässäni lausui.
15 Burnt sacrifices of fatlings will I offer to thee with the fat of rams; Bullocks, with he-goats, will I sacrifice to thee. (Pause)
Lihavat polttouhrit minä sinulle uhraan ynnä oinasten uhrituoksun; minä uhraan sinulle härkiä ja kauriita. (Sela)
16 Come and hear, all ye who fear God, And I will relate what he hath done for me!
Tulkaa, kuulkaa, niin minä kerron teille, kaikki te Jumalaa pelkääväiset, mitä hän on minun sielulleni tehnyt.
17 I called upon him with my mouth, And praise is now upon my tongue.
Häntä minä suullani huusin, ja ylistys tuli minun kielelleni.
18 If I had meditated wickedness in my heart, The Lord would not have heard me:
Jos minulla olisi vääryys sydämessäni, ei Herra minua kuulisi.
19 But surely God hath heard me; He hath had regard to the voice of my supplication.
Mutta Jumala kuuli minua ja otti vaarin minun rukoukseni äänestä.
20 Blessed be God, who did not reject my prayer, Nor withhold his mercy from me!
Kiitetty olkoon Jumala, joka ei hyljännyt minun rukoustani eikä ottanut minulta pois armoansa.
