< Psalms 65 >

1 “For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” To thee belongeth trust, to thee praise, O God in Zion! And to thee shall the vow be performed!
For the leader. A psalm of David. A song. It is seemly to praise you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall the vow be performed in Jerusalem.
2 O Thou that hearest prayer! To thee shall all flesh come!
O you who hear prayer, unto you shall all flesh come.
3 My iniquities are heavy upon me; But thou wilt forgive our transgressions!
Our sins are too mighty for us, our transgressions you only can cover them.
4 Happy is he whom thou choosest, And bringest near thee to dwell in thy courts! May we be satisfied with the blessings of thy house, Thy holy temple!
Happy the person who you choose to live beside you in your courts. O may we be filled with the joys of your house, of your holy temple.
5 By wonderful deeds dost thou answer us in thy goodness, O God, our salvation! Who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of the most distant seas!
In dread deeds you loyally answer us, O God of our salvation, whom all ends of the earth put their trust in, and islands far away.
6 Thou makest fast the mountains by thy power, Being girded with strength!
By your strength you establish the hills, you are armed with might;
7 Thou stillest the roar of the sea, The roar of its waves, And the tumult of the nations.
you still the roaring of seas, and the turmoil of nations,
8 They who dwell in the ends of the earth are awed by thy signs; Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to rejoice!
so that those who live at earth’s bounds are awed at your signs: the lands of the sunrise and sunset you make to ring with joy.
9 Thou visitest the earth and waterest it; Thou enrichest it exceedingly; The river of God is full of water. Thou suppliest the earth with corn, When thou hast thus prepared it.
You visit and water the earth; you greatly enrich her with the river of God, which is full of water. You prepare the corn thereof,
10 Thou waterest its furrows, And breakest down its ridges; Thou makest it soft with showers, And blessest its increase.
watering her furrows, settling her ridges; you make her soft with showers, and bless what grows thereon.
11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; Thy footsteps drop fruitfulness;
You crown the year with your goodness, your chariot tracks drip with fatness.
12 They drop it upon the pastures of the wilderness, And the hills are girded with gladness.
The desert pastures are lush, the hills greened with joy.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks, And the valleys are covered with corn; They shout, yea, they sing for joy.
The meadows are clothed with flocks, the valleys are covered with corn; they shout to each other and sing.
