Psalms 58
1 “For the leader of the music. To the tune of “Do not destroy.” A psalm of David.” Do ye, indeed, administer justice faithfully, ye mighty ones? Do ye judge with uprightness, ye sons of men?
Přednímu z kantorů, jako: Nevyhlazuj, Davidův žalm zlatý. Právě-liž vy, ó shromáždění, spravedlnost vypovídáte? Upřímě-liž soudy činíte, vy synové lidští?
2 Nay, in your hearts ye contrive iniquity; Your hands weigh out violence in the land!
Anobrž raději nepravosti v srdci ukládáte, a násilí rukou svých v zemi této odvažujete.
3 The wicked are estranged, from their very birth; The liars go astray as soon as they are born.
Uchýlili se bezbožníci hned od narození, pobloudili hned od života matky, mluvíce lež.
4 They have poison, like the poison of a serpent; Like the deaf adder's, which stoppeth her ear;
Jed v sobě mají jako jedovatý had, jako lítý had hluchý, kterýž zacpává ucho své,
5 Which listeneth not to the voice of the charmer, And of the sorcerer, skilful in incantations.
Aby neslyšel hlasu zaklinačů, a čarodějníka v čářích vycvičeného.
6 Break their teeth, O God! in their mouths! Break out the great teeth of the lions, O LORD!
Ó Bože, potři jim zuby v ústech jejich, střenovní zuby lvíčat těch polámej, Hospodine.
7 May they melt like waters, which flow away; May their arrows, when they aim them, be as if cut in pieces!
Nechť se rozplynou jako voda, a zmizejí; ať jsou jako ten, kterýž napíná luk, jehož však střely se lámí,
8 May they be like the snail, which melteth away as it goeth; Like the abortion of a woman, that seeth not the sun!
Jako hlemejžď, kterýž tratí se a mizí, jako nedochůdče ženy, ješto nespatřilo slunce.
9 Before your pots feel the heat of the thorns, Whether fresh, or burning, may they be blown away!
Prvé než lidé pocítí trní jejich a bodláku, hned za živa zapálením jako vichřicí zachváceni budou.
10 The righteous shall rejoice, when he seeth such vengeance; He shall bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
I bude se veseliti spravedlivý, když uzří pomstu, nohy své umyje ve krvi bezbožníka.
11 Then shall men say, “Truly there is a reward for the righteous! Truly there is a God who is judge upon the earth!”
Ano dí každý: V pravdě, žeť má užitek spravedlivý, jistě, žeť jest Bůh soudce na zemi.
