Psalms 48

1 “A psalm of the sons of Korah.” Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, upon his holy mountain.

Cântico e salmo, dos filhos de Coré: O SENHOR [é] grande e muito louvável, na cidade de nosso Deus, [no] monte de sua santidade.

2 Beautiful in its elevation is Mount Zion, The joy of the whole earth; The joy of the farthest North is the city of the great king;

Belo de se ver e alegria de toda a terra [é] o monte de Sião, nas terras do norte; a cidade do grande Rei.

3 In her palaces God is known as a refuge.

Deus [está] em seus palácios, [e] é conhecido como alto refúgio.

4 For, lo! kings were assembled against it; They passed away together.

Porque eis que os reis se reuniram; eles juntamente passaram

5 As soon as they saw, they were astonished; They were confounded, and hasted away.

Eles, [quando] a viram, ficaram maravilhados; assombraram-se, fugiram apressadamente.

6 There terror seized upon them, —Pain, as of a woman in travail;

Ali o temor os tomou, [e sentiram] dores como as de parto.

7 As when the east wind breaketh in pieces The ships of Tarshish.

Com o vento do oriente tu quebras os navios de Társis.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish it for ever. (Pause)

Assim como nós ouvimos, também vimos na cidade do SENHOR dos exércitos, na cidade do nosso Deus; Deus a firmará para sempre. (Selá)

9 We think of thy loving-kindness, O God! In the midst of thy temple!

Deus, nós reconhecemos tua bondade no meio de teu templo.

10 As thy name, O God! so thy praise, extendeth to the ends of the earth; Thy right hand is full of righteousness.

Conforme o teu nome, ó Deus, assim é o louvor a ti, até os confins da terra; tua mão direita está cheia de justiça.

11 Mount Zion rejoiceth, The daughters of Judah exult, On account of thy righteous judgments.

Alegre-se o monte de Sião, fiquem contentes as filhas de Judá, por causa de teus juízos.

12 Go round about Zion; number her towers;

Andai ao redor de Sião, e a circundai; contai suas torres.

13 Mark well her bulwarks; count her palaces; That ye may tell it to the next generation!

Ponde vosso coração em seus muros de defesa, prestai atenção em seus palácios, para que conteis deles à geração seguinte.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide unto death.

Porque este Deus [é] nosso Deus para todo o sempre; ele nos acompanhará até a morte.
