Psalms 37
1 “A psalm of David.” Be not thou angry on account of the wicked, Nor be envious of those who do iniquity.
Não te indignes por causa dos malfeitores, nem tenhas inveja dos que obram a iniquidade.
2 For soon shall they be cut down like grass, And wither like the green herb.
Porque cedo serão ceifados como a herva, e murcharão como a verdura.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Abide in the land, and delight in faithfulness.
Confia no Senhor e faze o bem; habitarás na terra, e verdadeiramente serás alimentado.
4 Place thy delight in the LORD. And he will give thee thy heart's desires.
Deleita-te tambem no Senhor, e te concederá os desejos do teu coração.
5 Commit thy way to the LORD; Trust in him, and he will give thee success!
Entrega o teu caminho ao Senhor; confia n'elle, e elle o fará.
6 He will cause thy justice to shine forth like the light, And thy righteousness like the noonday's brightness.
E elle fará sobresair a tua justiça como a luz, e o teu juizo como o meio-dia.
7 Hope thou patiently on the LORD, And in him place thy trust! Be not angry on account of the prosperous, —On account of him that deviseth deceit!
Descança no Senhor, e espera n'elle; não te indignes por causa d'aquelle que prospera em seu caminho, por causa do homem que executa astutos intentos.
8 Cease from anger; give not way to wrath; Be not provoked, so as to do evil!
Deixa a ira, e abandona o furor: não te indignes para fazer sómente o mal.
9 For evil-doers shall be rooted out; But they who trust in the LORD, they shall inherit the land.
Porque os malfeitores serão desarreigados; mas aquelles que esperam no Senhor herdarão a terra.
10 Yet a little while, and the wicked shall be no more; Thou mayst look for his place, and he will not be found.
Pois ainda um pouco, e o impio não existirá; olharás para o seu logar, e não apparecerá.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land, And delight themselves in the fulness of prosperity.
Mas os mansos herdarão a terra, e se deleitarão na abundancia de paz.
12 The wicked man plotteth against the just, And gnasheth at him with his teeth.
O impio maquina contra o justo, e contra elle range os dentes.
13 The Lord laugheth at him; For he seeth that his day is coming.
O Senhor se rirá d'elle, pois vê que vem chegando o seu dia.
14 The wicked draw the sword, And bend their bow, To cast down the afflicted and the needy, And to slay the upright.
Os impios puxaram da espada e entesaram o arco, para derribarem o pobre e necessitado, e para matarem os de recta conversação.
15 Their swords shall enter their own hearts, And their bows shall be broken in pieces.
Porém a sua espada lhes entrará no coração, e os seus arcos se quebrarão.
16 Better is the little of the righteous man Than the great abundance of the wicked;
Vale mais o pouco que tem o justo, do que as riquezas de muitos impios.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD will uphold the righteous.
Pois os braços dos impios se quebrarão, mas o Senhor sustem os justos.
18 The LORD careth for the life of the upright, And their inheritance shall endure for ever.
O Senhor conhece os dias dos rectos, e a sua herança permanecerá para sempre.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall have enough.
Não serão envergonhados nos dias maus, e nos dias de fome se fartarão.
20 But the wicked shall perish; Yea, the enemies of the LORD shall be consumed, like the glory of the fields; They shall be consumed into smoke.
Mas os impios perecerão, e os inimigos do Senhor serão como a gordura dos cordeiros; desapparecerão, e em fumo se desfarão.
21 The wicked borroweth, and repayeth not; But the righteous is merciful and bountiful.
O impio toma emprestado, e não paga; mas o justo se compadece, e dá.
22 For they who are blessed by God shall inherit the land, And they who are cursed by him shall be rooted out.
Porque aquelles que elle abençoa herdarão a terra, e aquelles que forem por elle amaldiçoados serão desarreigados.
23 The steps of the good man are directed by the LORD; He delighteth himself in his way.
Os passos de um homem bom são confirmados pelo Senhor, e deleita-se no seu caminho.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, For the LORD holdeth him by the hand.
Ainda que caia, não ficará prostrado, pois o Senhor o sustem com a sua mão.
25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his offspring begging bread.
Fui moço, e agora sou velho; mas nunca vi desamparado o justo, nem a sua semente a mendigar o pão.
26 He is ever merciful and lendeth, And his offspring shall be blessed.
Compadece-se sempre, e empresta, e a sua semente é abençoada.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; So thou shalt dwell in the land for ever.
Aparta-te do mal e faze o bem; e habita para sempre.
28 For the LORD loveth righteousness, And forsaketh not his servants; They are preserved for ever; But the posterity of the wicked shall be rooted out.
Porque o Senhor ama o juizo e não desampara os seus sanctos; elles são preservados para sempre; mas a semente dos impios será desarreigada.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, And shall dwell therein for ever.
Os justos herdarão a terra e habitarão n'ella para sempre.
30 The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And his tongue speaketh what is right.
A bocca do justo falla a sabedoria: a sua lingua falla do juizo.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; His footsteps shall not slip.
A lei do seu Deus está em seu coração; os seus passos não resvallarão.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him;
O impio espreita ao justo, e procura matal-o.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor suffer him to be condemned, when he is judged.
O Senhor não o deixará em suas mãos, nem o condemnará quando fôr julgado.
34 Trust in the LORD, and keep his way, And he will exalt thee to the possession of the land, Whilst thou shalt see the destruction of the wicked!
Espera no Senhor, e guarda o seu caminho, e te exaltará para herdares a terra: tu o verás quando os impios forem desarreigados.
35 I have seen a wicked man in great power, And spreading himself like a green cedar;
Vi o impio com grande poder espalhar-se como a arvore verde na terra natal.
36 But he passed away, and, lo! he was no more; Yea, I sought him, but he was not found.
Mas passou e já não apparece: procurei-o, mas não se poude encontrar.
37 Mark the righteous man, and behold the upright, That posterity is to the man of peace!
Nota o homem sincero, e considera o recto, porque o fim d'esse homem é a paz.
38 But transgressors will all be destroyed; The posterity of the wicked shall be rooted out.
Emquanto aos transgressores serão á uma destruidos, e as reliquias dos impios serão destruidas.
39 The salvation of the just is from the LORD. He is their strength in the time of trouble.
Mas a salvação dos justos vem do Senhor; elle é a sua fortaleza no tempo da angustia.
40 The LORD will help and deliver them; He will deliver them from their enemies, and save them, Because they trust in him.
E o Senhor os ajudará e os livrará; elle os livrará dos impios e os salvará, porquanto confiam n'elle.
