Psalms 29

1 “A psalm of David.” Give to Jehovah, O ye sons of God! Give to Jehovah glory and praise!

Psalmus David, In consummatione tabernaculi. Afferte Domino filii Dei: afferte Domino filios arietum:

2 Give to Jehovah the glory due to his name; Worship Jehovah in holy attire!

Afferte Domino gloriam et honorem, afferte Domino gloriam nomini eius: adorate Dominum in atrio sancto eius.

3 The voice of Jehovah is heard above the waters; The God of glory thundereth, -Jehovah above the great waters.

Vox Domini super aquas, Deus maiestatis intonuit: Dominus super aquas multas.

4 The voice of Jehovah is powerful; The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty;

Vox Domini in virtute: vox Domini in magnificentia.

5 The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars; Yea, Jehovah breaketh the cedars of Lebanon;

Vox Domini confringentis cedros: et confringet Dominus cedros Libani:

6 Yea, he maketh them to leap like a calf, —Lebanon and Sirion like a young buffalo.

Et comminuet eas tamquam vitulum Libani: et dilectus quemadmodum filius unicornium.

7 The voice of Jehovah divideth the flames of fire.

Vox Domini intercidentis flammam ignis:

8 The voice of Jehovah maketh the wilderness tremble; Yea, Jehovah maketh the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.

vox Domini concutientis desertum: et commovebit Dominus desertum Cades.

9 The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds bring forth, And layeth bare the forests; While, in his palace, every one declareth his glory.

Vox Domini præparantis cervos, et revelabit condensa: et in templo eius omnes dicent gloriam.

10 Jehovah sitteth above the flood; Yea, Jehovah sitteth king for ever.

Dominus diluvium inhabitare facit: et sedebit Dominus rex in æternum.

11 Jehovah will give strength to his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.

Dominus virtutem populo suo dabit: Dominus benedicet populo suo in pace.
