Psalms 20

1 “For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” May Jehovah hear thee in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend thee!

Керівнику хору. Псалом Давидів. Нехай відповість тобі Господь у день скорботи. Нехай підніме тебе ім’я Бога Якова.

2 May he send thee help from his sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion!

Нехай пошле Він тобі допомогу зі Святилища і підтримає тебе із Сіону.

3 May he have regard to all thine offerings, And accept thy burnt sacrifice! (Pause)

Нехай Він згадає усі твої жертвоприношення [з прихильністю] і твоїми цілопаленнями задоволений буде. (Села)

4 May he grant thee thy heart's desire, And fulfill all thy purposes!

Нехай Він дасть тобі те, чого бажає твоє серце, здійснить усі твої наміри.

5 We will rejoice in thy protection, And in the name of our God will we set up our banners, When Jehovah hath fulfilled all thy petitions.

Ми радісно гукатимемо про твою перемогу, і в ім’я Бога нашого піднімемо знамена. Нехай виконає Господь усі прохання твої.

6 Now I know that Jehovah helpeth his anointed; That he heareth him from his holy heaven, And aideth him with the saving strength of his right hand.

Тепер я знаю, що рятує Господь помазанця Свого, відповідає йому зі святих небес Своїх переможною силою правиці Своєї.

7 Some glory in chariots, and some in horses, But we in the name of Jehovah our God.

Дехто [хвалиться] колісницями, дехто – конями, а ми хвалитися будемо іменем Господа, Бога нашого.

8 They stumble and fall, But we stand and are erect.

Вони похилилися й впали, а ми встали й зміцнюємося.

9 The LORD save the king! May he hear us when we call!

Господи, даруй перемогу! Нехай Цар відповість нам того дня, коли ми кличемо до Нього!
