Psalms 16
1 “A psalm off David.” Preserve me, O God! for to thee do I look for help.
En sång av David. Bevara mig, Gud, ty jag tager min tillflykt till dig.
2 I have said to Jehovah, Thou art my Lord; I have no happiness beyond thee!
Jag säger till HERREN: »Du är ju Herren; för mig finnes intet gott utom dig;
3 The holy that are in the land, and the excellent, —in them is all my delight.
de heliga som finnas i landet, de äro de härliga till vilka jag har allt mitt behag.»
4 They who hasten after other gods shall have multiplied sorrows; Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.
Men de som taga sig en annan gud, de hava stora vedermödor; jag vill icke offra deras drickoffer av blod eller taga deras namn på mina läppar.
5 Jehovah is my portion and my cup; Thou wilt maintain my lot!
HERREN är min beskärda del och bägare; du är den som uppehåller min arvedel.
6 My portion hath fallen to me in pleasant places; Yea, I have a goodly inheritance.
En lott har tillfallit mig i det ljuvliga, ja, ett arv som behagar mig väl.
7 I will bless the LORD, who careth for me; Yea, in the night my heart admonisheth me.
Jag vill lova HERREN, ty han giver mig råd; ännu om natten manar mig mitt innersta.
8 I set the LORD before me at all times; Since he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.
Jag har haft HERREN för mina ögon alltid; ja, han är på min högra sida, jag skall icke vackla.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my spirit rejoiceth; Yea, my flesh dwelleth in security.
Fördenskull gläder sig mitt hjärta, och min ära fröjdar sig; jämväl min kropp får bo i trygghet.
10 For thou wilt not give me up to the underworld; Nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see the pit. (Sheol h7585)
Ty du skall icke lämna min själ åt dödsriket, du skall icke låta din fromme få se graven. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life; In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Du skall kungöra mig livets väg; inför ditt ansikte är glädje till fyllest, ljuvlighet i din högra hand evinnerligen.
