Psalms 15

1 “A psalm of David.” LORD, who shall abide at thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell upon thy holy hill?

Een psalm van David. HEERE, wie zal verkeren in Uw tent? Wie zal wonen op den berg Uwer heiligheid?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and doeth righteousness, And speaketh the truth from his heart;

Die oprecht wandelt, en gerechtigheid werkt, en die met zijn hart de waarheid spreekt;

3 He that slandereth not with his tongue, That doeth no injury to his neighbor, And uttereth no reproach against his neighbor;

Die met zijn tong niet achterklapt, zijn metgezellen geen kwaad doet, en geen smaadrede opneemt tegen zijn naaste;

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; But who honoreth them that fear the LORD; Who sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not;

In wiens ogen de verworpene veracht is, maar hij eert degenen, die den HEERE vrezen; heeft hij gezworen tot zijn schade, evenwel verandert hij niet;

5 He that lendeth not his money for interest, And taketh not a bribe against the innocent: He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Die zijn geld niet geeft op woeker, en geen geschenk neemt tegen den onschuldige. Die deze dingen doet, zal niet wankelen in eeuwigheid.
