Psalms 131

1 “A psalm of the steps, or the goings up. Of David.” O LORD! my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty; I employ not myself on great things, or things too wonderful for me!

Drottinn, ég er hvorki stoltur né hrokafullur. Ég álít sjálfan mig ekki betri en aðra. Ég læt ekki sem ég viti alla hluti.

2 Yea, I have stilled and quieted my soul As a weaned child upon his mother; My soul within me is like a weaned child.

Ég er hljóður fyrir Drottni, eins og barn sem vanið hefur verið af brjósti. Ég er hættur að suða og nauða.

3 O Israel! trust in the LORD, Henceforth even for ever!

Ísrael, ver þú hljóður og treystu Drottni, nú og ævinlega.
