Psalms 119
1 Happy are they who are upright in their way, Who walk in the law of the LORD!
Heureux ceux dont la conduite est intègre, Et qui suivent la loi de l'Éternel!
2 Happy are they who observe his ordinances, And seek him with their whole heart;
Heureux ceux qui obéissent à ses enseignements, Qui le recherchent de tout leur coeur,
3 Who also do no iniquity, But walk in his ways!
Et qui ne commettent pas d'iniquité, Mais qui marchent dans les voies de l'Éternel!...
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
Tu as donné tes commandements, ô Dieu, Pour qu'on les observe avec soin.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
Daigne diriger ma conduite, Afin que j'observe tes préceptes!
6 Then shall I not be put to shame, When I have respect to all thy commandments.
Alors je n'aurai point à rougir, Quand je fixerai les regards sur tous tes commandements.
7 I will praise thee in uprightness of heart, When I shall have learned thy righteous laws.
Je te célébrerai dans la droiture de mon coeur. Quand j'aurai appris tes justes jugements.
8 I will keep thy statutes; Do not utterly forsake me!
Je veux observer tes préceptes; Ne m'abandonne pas entièrement!
9 How shall a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed to it according to thy word.
Comment le jeune homme rendra-t-il pure sa conduite? C'est en restant fidèle à ta parole.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee; O let me not wander from thy commandments!
Je te cherche de tout mon coeur; Ne permets pas que je m'égare loin de tes commandements!
11 Thy word have I hid in my heart, That I might not sin against thee.
J'ai serré ta parole dans mon coeur. Afin de ne pas pécher contre toi.
12 Blessed be thou, O LORD! O teach me thy statutes!
Béni sois-tu, ô Éternel! Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
13 With my lips do I declare All the precepts of thy mouth.
Mes lèvres énumèrent Tous les jugements que ta bouche a prononcés.
14 In the way of thine ordinances I rejoice As much as in all riches.
Je trouve autant de joie à suivre tes enseignements, Qu'à posséder tous les trésors du monde.
15 I meditate on thy precepts, And have respect unto thy ways.
Je méditerai tes commandements, Et je fixerai mes regards sur tes sentiers.
16 I delight myself in thy statutes; I do not forget thy word.
Je ferai mes délices de tes préceptes, Et je n'oublierai point tes paroles.
17 Deal kindly with thy servant, that I may live, And have regard to thy word!
Accorde ce bienfait à ton serviteur: que je vive. Et que je garde ta parole!
18 Open thou mine eyes, That I may behold wondrous things out of thy law!
Dessille mes yeux. Afin que je contemple les merveilles de ta loi.
19 I am a stranger in the earth; O hide not thy precepts from me!
Je suis étranger sur la terre; Ne me cache pas tes commandements!
20 My soul breaketh within me, On account of longing for thy judgments at all times.
Mon âme est consumée par l'amour Que lui inspirent tes lois, en tout temps.
21 Thou rebukest the proud, the accursed, Who wander from thy commandments.
Tu menaces les orgueilleux, Ces maudits qui s'écartent de tes commandements.
22 Remove from me reproach and contempt, For I have kept thine ordinances!
Éloigne de moi l'opprobre et le mépris; Car j'obéis à tes enseignements.
23 Princes sit and speak against me, But thy servant meditateth on thy statutes.
Les puissants eux-mêmes se sont assis, Et ils ont parlé contre moi; Mais ton serviteur médite tes préceptes.
24 Thine ordinances are my delight; Yea, they are my counsellors.
Oui, tes enseignements font mes délices: Ils sont mes meilleurs conseillers.
25 My soul cleaveth to the dust; O revive me, according to thy word!
Mon âme est abattue dans la poussière; Fais-moi revivre, selon ta parole!
26 I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me; Teach me thy statutes!
Je t'ai fait connaître ma conduite, et tu m'as approuvé; Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts! So will I meditate upon thy wonders.
Montre-moi la voie que tu m'ordonnes de suivre. Et je méditerai tes merveilles.
28 My soul weepeth for trouble; O lift me up according to thy promise!
Mon âme attristée se fond en larmes; Relève-moi, selon ta parole!
29 Remove from me the way of falsehood, And graciously grant me thy law!
Éloigne-moi de la voie du mensonge; Accorde-moi comme une grâce la connaissance de ta loi!
30 I have chosen the way of truth, And set thy statutes before me.
J'ai choisi la voie de la fidélité; J'ai mis tes jugements devant mes yeux.
31 I cleave to thine ordinances; O LORD! let me not be put to shame!
Je me suis attaché à tes enseignements: Éternel, ne me rends pas confus!
32 I will run in the way of thy commandments, When thou shalt enlarge my heart.
Je m'élancerai dans la voie de tes commandements, Quand tu auras mis mon coeur au large.
33 Teach me, O LORD! the way of thy statutes, That I may keep it to the end!
Éternel, apprends-moi à suivre tes préceptes, Et je les observerai jusqu'à la fin.
34 Give me understanding, that I may keep thy law; That I may observe it with my whole heart!
Donne-moi l'intelligence, et j'observerai ta loi: Je la pratiquerai de tout mon coeur.
35 Cause me to tread in the path of thy commandments, For in it I have my delight.
Conduis-moi dans les sentiers de tes commandements; Car mon bonheur est de les suivre.
36 Incline my heart to thine ordinances, And not to the love of gain!
Incline mon coeur vers tes enseignements. Et non pas vers le gain.
37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity, And quicken me in thy law!
Détourne mes yeux de la contemplation des choses vaines; Que je trouve la vie en marchant dans tes voies.
38 Fulfill to thy servant thy promise, Which thou hast made to him who feareth thee!
Accomplis envers ton serviteur ta promesse: Tu l’as donnée pour qu’on te craigne.
39 Turn away the reproach which I fear; For thy judgments are good.
Détourne de moi l'opprobre que je redoute; Car tes jugements sont pleins de bonté.
40 Behold, I have longed for thy precepts; O quicken thou me in thy righteousness!
J'ai un ardent amour pour tes commandements! Fais-moi revivre par ta justice!
41 Let thy mercies come to me, O LORD! And thy help according to thy promise!
Éternel, que tes bontés et ton salut Descendent sur moi, selon ta promesse!
42 So shall I be able to answer him that reproacheth me; For I trust in thy promise.
Alors je saurai comment répondre à celui qui m'outrage; Car je me confie en ta parole.
43 O take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth! For I trust in thy judgments.
Ne me refuse pas entièrement la faveur De rendre témoignage à la vérité; Car je mets mon attente en tes jugements.
44 So shall I keep thy law continually, For ever and ever.
Alors j'observerai ta loi constamment. Sans l'abandonner jamais.
45 I shall walk in a wide path; For I seek thy precepts.
Je marcherai d'un pas libre; Car j'ai à coeur de suivre tes commandements.
46 I will speak of thine ordinances before kings, And will not be ashamed.
Je proclamerai tes volontés devant les rois. Et je n'en aurai aucune honte.
47 I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I love;
Je ferai mes délices de tes commandements: Ils sont l'objet de mon amour.
48 I will lift up my hands to thy precepts, which I love; I will meditate on thy statutes.
J'élèverai mes mains vers tes commandements que j'aime. Et je méditerai tes préceptes.
49 Remember thy promise to thy servant, Because thou hast caused me to hope!
Souviens-toi de la parole donnée à ton serviteur C'est sur elle que tu as fondé mon espérance.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction; For thy promise reviveth me.
Ce qui me console dans mon affliction, C'est que ta parole me rend la vie.
51 The proud have had me greatly in derision; Yet have I not swerved from thy law.
Des orgueilleux me couvrent de railleries; Mais je ne m'écarte pas de ta loi.
52 I remember thy judgments of old, O LORD! And I comfort myself.
Je me rappelle tes jugements d'autrefois, ô Éternel, Et j'y trouve ma consolation.
53 Indignation burneth within me, On account of the wicked who forsake thy law.
L'indignation me saisit, à cause des méchants Qui abandonnent ta loi.
54 Thy statutes have been my song In the house of my pilgrimage.
Tes préceptes sont le sujet de mes cantiques, Dans la maison où j'habite en étranger.
55 In the night, O LORD! I think of thy name, And keep thy law!
La nuit, je me rappelle ton nom, ô Éternel, Et j'observe ta loi.
56 This have I as my own, That I keep thy precepts.
Le bien qui m'est échu en partage. C'est de garder tes commandements.
57 Thou art my portion, O LORD! I have resolved that I will keep thy precepts.
Tu es ma part, ô Éternel. C'est pourquoi j'ai promis de garder tes paroles.
58 I have sought thy favor with my whole heart; Be gracious unto me according to thy promise!
Je t'ai imploré de tout mon coeur: Aie pitié de moi, selon ta promesse!
59 I think on my ways, And turn my feet to thy statutes;
J'ai fait l'examen de ma conduite, Et j'ai dirigé mes pas dans la voie de tes enseignements.
60 I make haste, and delay not, To keep thy commandments.
Je me hâte, je ne diffère point D'observer tes commandements.
61 The snares of the wicked surround me; Yet do I not forget thy law.
Les pièges des méchants m'ont environné; Je n'ai point oublié ta loi.
62 At midnight I rise to give thanks to thee On account of thy righteous judgments.
Au milieu de la nuit, je me lève pour te célébrer, A cause de tes justes jugements.
63 I am the companion of all who fear thee, And who obey thy precepts.
Je suis le compagnon de tous ceux qui te craignent Et qui observent tes commandements.
64 The earth, O LORD! is full of thy goodness; O teach me thy statutes!
Éternel, la terre est pleine de ta bonté! Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
65 Thou dost bless thy servant, O LORD! According to thy promise!
Tu as fait du bien à ton serviteur, Éternel, selon ta parole.
66 Teach me sound judgment and knowledge! For I have faith in thy commandments.
Donne-moi un sens droit, ainsi que la vraie sagesse; Car j'ai foi en tes commandements.
67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray; But now I keep thy word.
Avant d'être affligé, je m'égarais; Mais, maintenant, j'observe ta parole.
68 Thou art good and doest good; O teach me thy statutes!
Tu es bon, et tu manifestes ta bonté: Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
69 The proud forge lies against me, But I keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Des orgueilleux ont ourdi contre moi des mensonges; Mais moi, j'obéis de tout mon coeur à tes ordres.
70 Their heart is senseless like fat; But I delight in thy law.
Leur coeur est épaissi comme de la graisse; Moi, je trouve mes délices dans ta loi.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I might learn thy statutes.
Il m'est bon d'avoir été affligé: C'est ainsi que j'ai appris à connaître ta volonté.
72 The law of thy mouth is better to me Than thousands of gold and silver.
Les enseignements de ta bouche sont plus précieux pour moi Que des milliers de pièces d'or et d'argent.
73 Thy hands have made and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments!
Toi dont les mains m'ont formé et créé, Donne-moi l'intelligence, afin que je puisse apprendre tes lois.
74 They who fear thee shall see me and rejoice, Because I trust in thy word.
Ceux qui te craignent me verront, et ils se réjouiront; Car j'espère en ta parole.
75 I know, O LORD! that thy judgments are right, And that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.
Je sais, ô Éternel, que tes jugements ne sont que justice: C'est dans ta fidélité que tu m'as affligé.
76 O let thy loving-kindness be my comfort, According to thy promise to thy servant!
Que ta bonté soit donc ma consolation. Comme tu l'as promis à ton serviteur.
77 Let thy tender mercies come to me, that I may live! For thy law is my delight.
Que tes compassions s'étendent sur moi, et je vivrai; Car ta loi fait mes délices.
78 May the proud be put to shame, who wrong me without cause! But I will meditate on thy precepts.
Que les orgueilleux soient confus. Eux qui m'oppriment sans motif; Et moi, je méditerai tes commandements.
79 Let those who fear thee turn unto me, And they that know thine ordinances!
Qu'ils reviennent à moi, ceux qui te craignent Et qui connaissent tes enseignements!
80 May my heart be perfect in thy statutes, That I may not be put to shame!
Que mon coeur soit sincèrement attaché à tes préceptes, Afin que je n'aie pas à rougir de honte!
81 My soul fainteth for thy salvation; In thy promise do I trust.
Mon âme languit après son salut; J'espère en ta parole.
82 Mine eyes fail with looking for thy promise; When. say I, wilt thou comfort me?
Mes yeux se consument dans l'attente de ta promesse; Je dis: «Quand me consoleras-tu?»
83 Yea, I am become like a bottle in the smoke; Yet do I not forget thy statutes.
Je suis comme une outre dans un nuage de fumée; Mais je n'oublie pas tes préceptes.
84 How many are the days of thy servant? When wilt thou execute judgment upon my persecutors?
Combien courte est la vie de ton serviteur! Quand donc feras-tu justice de ceux qui me persécutent?
85 The proud have digged pits for me; They who do not regard thy law.
Les orgueilleux ont creusé des pièges sous mes pas; Car jamais ils n'agissent selon ta loi.
86 All thy commandments are faithful; They persecute me without cause; help thou me!
Tous tes commandements témoignent de ta fidélité. Mes ennemis me persécutent sans motif; aide-moi!
87 They had almost consumed me from the earth; But I forsook not thy precepts.
Encore un peu, et ils me faisaient disparaître de la terre! Mais je n'abandonne pas tes commandements.
88 Quicken me according to thy loving-kindness, That I may keep the law of thy mouth!
Fais-moi revivre, toi qui es plein de bonté. Et j'obéirai aux enseignements de ta bouche.
89 Thy word, O LORD! abideth for ever, Being established like the heavens;
Éternel, ta parole subsiste à jamais dans les cieux;
90 Thy faithfulness endureth to all generations. Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
Ta fidélité dure d'âge en âge! Tu as fondé la terre, et elle demeure ferme.
91 They continue to this day according to their ordinances; For they are all subject to thee.
Tout subsiste aujourd'hui selon tes lois; Car toutes choses te servent.
92 Had not thy law been my delight, I should have perished in my affliction.
Si ta loi n'eût fait mes délices. J'aurais déjà péri dans ma misère.
93 I will never forget thy precepts; For by them thou revivest me.
Jamais je n'oublierai tes commandements; Car c'est par eux que tu m'as fait revivre.
94 I am thine, help me! For I seek thy precepts.
Je suis à toi, sauve-moi; Car je m'applique à suivre tes commandements.
95 The wicked lie in wait to destroy me; But I will have regard to thine ordinances.
Les méchants m'ont épié pour me faire périr; Mais je suis attentif à tes enseignements.
96 I have seen an end of all perfection; But thy law is exceeding broad.
J'ai vu des bornes à tout ce qui est parfait; Mais ta loi est d'une étendue sans fin.
97 O how I love thy law! It is my daily (meditation)
Combien j'aime ta loi! Tout le jour, je m'applique à la méditer.
98 Thou hast made me wiser than my enemies by thy precepts; For they are ever before me.
Tes commandements me rendent plus sage Que mes ennemis, Parce qu'ils sont toujours présents à mon esprit.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers; For thine ordinances are my (meditation)
J'ai surpassé en sagesse tous ceux qui m'avaient instruit; Car tes enseignements sont l'objet de mes méditations.
100 I have more wisdom than the ancients, Because I keep thy precepts.
Je suis plus intelligent que les vieillards eux-mêmes; Car j'ai gardé tes commandements.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I might keep thy word.
J'ai détourné mes pas de tout mauvais chemin, Afin d'observer ta parole.
102 I depart not from thy statutes, For thou teachest me!
Je ne m'écarte point de tes lois, Parce que c'est toi qui m'as instruit.
103 How sweet are thy words to my taste; Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Combien tes paroles sont douces à mon palais, Plus douces que le miel à ma bouche!
104 From thy precepts I learn wisdom; Therefore do I hate every false way.
Tes commandements m'instruisent; C'est pourquoi je hais tous les sentiers trompeurs.
105 Thy word is a lamp to my feet, And a light to my path.
Ta parole est un flambeau qui guide mes pas, Une lumière sur mon sentier.
106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, That I will keep thy righteous statutes.
J'ai juré — et je tiendrai ma promesse. — D'observer tes justes lois.
107 I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O LORD! according to thy word!
Je suis extrêmement affligé: Éternel, fais-moi revivre, selon ta parole!
108 Accept, O LORD! the free-will offering of my mouth, And teach me thy statutes!
Agrée les chants de louange Que t'offre ma bouche, ô Eternel, Et enseigne-moi tes commandements!
109 My life is continually in my hand; Yet do I not forget thy law.
Ma vie est continuellement en danger; Mais je n'oublie point ta loi.
110 The wicked lay snares for me, Yet do I not go astray from thy precepts.
Les méchants m'ont tendu des pièges; Mais je ne me suis pas écarté de tes commandements.
111 I have made thine ordinances my possession for ever; For they are the joy of my heart.
Tes enseignements sont pour toujours mon héritage; Ils sont la joie de mon coeur.
112 I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes, Always, —even to the end.
J'ai rendu mon coeur docile à l'observation de tes préceptes, Pour toujours, jusqu'à la fin.
113 I hate impious men, And thy law I do love.
Je hais les hommes au coeur double; Mais j'aime ta loi.
114 Thou art my hiding-place and my shield; In thy word I put my trust!
Tu es mon refuge et mon bouclier; J'espère en ta parole.
115 Depart from me, ye evil-doers! For I will keep the commandments of my God.
Retirez-vous de moi, méchants! Je veux garder les commandements de mon Dieu.
116 Uphold me according to thy promise, that I may live; And let me not be ashamed of my hope!
Soutiens-moi, selon ta promesse, Afin que je vive, Et ne me fais pas rougir d'avoir mis en toi mon espérance!
117 Do thou hold me up, and I shall be safe, And I will have respect to thy statutes continually!
Soutiens-moi: je serai sauvé. Et j'aurai toujours les yeux sur tes préceptes!
118 Thou castest off all who depart from thy laws; For their deceit is vain.
Tu traites avec mépris tous ceux qui s'écartent de tes lois; Car toutes leurs machinations sont frappées d'impuissance.
119 Thou throwest away all the wicked of the earth, like dross; Therefore I love thine ordinances.
Tu rejettes, comme de l'écume. Tous les méchants de la terre. C'est pourquoi j'aime tes enseignements.
120 My flesh trembleth through fear of thee, And I am afraid of thy judgments.
Ma chair tremble de frayeur en ta présence. Et je crains tes jugements.
121 I have done justice and equity; O leave me not to mine oppressors.
J'ai pratiqué ce qui est droit et juste; Ne m'abandonne pas à mes oppresseurs!
122 Be surety for thy servant for good; Let not the proud oppress me!
Prends sous ta garde le bonheur de ton serviteur; Que les orgueilleux ne m'oppriment pas!
123 Mine eyes fail with looking for thy help, And for thy righteous promise.
Mes yeux se consument dans l'attente de ton salut Et de tes promesses, ô Dieu juste.
124 Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy, And teach me thy statutes!
Agis envers ton serviteur selon ta bonté, Et enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, That I may know thine ordinances!
Je suis ton serviteur; donne-moi l'intelligence, Afin que je puisse comprendre tes enseignements.
126 It is time for thee, O LORD! to act; For men have made void thy law.
Le temps est venu d'agir en ta faveur, ô Éternel; Car on viole ta loi.
127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; Yea, above fine gold.
C'est pourquoi j'aime tes commandements Plus que l'or, même que l'or fin.
128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; I hate every false way.
Ainsi je proclame que tous tes commandements sont droits, Et je hais tout sentier trompeur.
129 Wonderful are thine ordinances; Therefore do I observe them.
Tes enseignements sont admirables; Aussi mon âme les met-elle en pratique.
130 The communication of thy precepts giveth light; It giveth understanding to the simple.
Tes paroles sont une révélation qui éclaire; Elles donnent de l'intelligence aux simples.
131 I open my mouth and pant: For I long for thy commandments.
J'ouvre la bouche et je soupire; Car j'ai un grand amour pour tes commandements.
132 Look thou upon me, and be gracious to me, As is just to those who love thy name!
Regarde-moi et prends pitié de moi, Comme tu le fais pour ceux qui aiment ton nom.
133 Establish my footsteps in thy word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me!
Que ta parole affermisse mes pas. Et ne permets point que le péché domine sur moi.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of men, So will I keep thy precepts!
Délivre-moi de l'oppression des hommes. Afin que j'observe tes commandements!
135 Let thy face shine on thy servant, And teach me thy statutes!
Fais resplendir ta face sur ton serviteur, Et enseigne-moi tes préceptes!
136 Rivers of water run down mine eyes, Because men keep not thy law.
Des ruisseaux de larmes coulent de mes yeux. Parce que personne n'observe ta loi.
137 Righteous art thou, O LORD! And just are thy judgments!
Tu es juste, ô Éternel, Et tes jugements sont droits.
138 Just are the ordinances which thou hast ordained, And altogether righteous.
Tu prescris avec force, dans tes enseignements, La justice et la fidélité.
139 My zeal consumeth me, Because my enemies forget thy word.
Mon zèle me consume, Parce que mes ennemis ont oublié tes paroles.
140 Thy word is very pure, Therefore thy servant loveth it.
Ta parole est parfaitement pure; Aussi est-elle chère à ton serviteur.
141 Of mean condition am I, and despised; Yet do I not forget thy precepts.
Je suis petit et méprisé; Mais je n'oublie pas tes commandements.
142 Thy righteousness is everlasting righteousness, And thy law is truth.
Ta justice est une justice éternelle, Et ta loi n'est que vérité.
143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me, But thy laws are my delight.
La détresse et l'angoisse m'ont atteint; Mais tes commandements font mes délices.
144 The justice of thine ordinances is everlasting; Give me understanding, and I shall live!
Tes enseignements sont éternellement justes; Donne-m'en l'intelligence, afin que je vive!
145 I cry to thee with my whole heart; Hear me, O LORD! that I may keep thy statutes.
Je t'invoque de tout mon coeur; réponds-moi, ô Éternel, Et je garderai tes préceptes.
146 I cry unto thee; save me, And I will observe thine ordinances.
Je crie vers toi; sauve-moi, Et je suivrai tes enseignements.
147 I come before the dawn with my prayer; I trust in thy promise!
Je devance l'aurore, et je t'invoque: Je mets mon espoir en ta parole.
148 My eyes anticipate the night-watches, That I may meditate upon thy promise.
Mes yeux devancent les veilles de la nuit, Pour méditer ta promesse.
149 Hear my voice according to thy loving-kindness; O LORD! revive me according to thy mercy!
Dans ta bonté, ô Éternel, écoute ma voix; Dans ta justice, fais-moi revivre!
150 Near are they whose aim is mischief; They are far from thy law;
Les voilà près de moi, ceux qui se précipitent dans le crime Et qui se détournent de ta loi.
151 Yet thou art near, O LORD! And all thy commandments are truth!
Mais toi aussi, ô Éternel, tu t'approches de moi. Et tous tes commandements m'assurent de ta fidélité.
152 Long have I known concerning thine ordinances, That thou hast founded them for ever.
Depuis longtemps j'ai appris à connaître tes enseignements; Car tu les as établis pour toujours.
153 Look upon my affliction, and deliver me! For I do not forget thy law.
Regarde mon affliction, et délivre-moi; Car je n'ai pas oublié ta loi.
154 Maintain my cause, and redeem me; Revive me according to thy promise!
Défends ma cause, et délivre-moi; Fais-moi revivre, selon ta promesse!
155 Salvation is far from the wicked, Because they seek not thy statutes.
Le salut est loin des méchants. Parce qu'ils ne se soucient pas de tes préceptes.
156 Great is thy compassion, O LORD! Revive thou me according to thine equity!
Tes compassions sont en grand nombre, ô Éternel: Fais-moi revivre, suivant les arrêts de ta justice!
157 Many are my persecutors and my enemies, Yet do I not depart from thine ordinances.

160 The whole of thy word is truth, And all thy righteous judgments endure for ever.
Ta parole tout entière n'est que vérité, Et tous les arrêts de ta justice sont éternels.
161 Princes have persecuted me without cause; But my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
Les grands m'ont persécuté sans motif; Mais mon coeur n'a craint que tes paroles.
162 I rejoice in thy word, As one that hath found great spoil.
Je me réjouis de ta promesse. Comme celui qui a trouvé un grand trésor.
163 I hate and abhor lying, And thy law do I love.
Je hais, j'ai en horreur le mensonge. Et j'aime ta loi.
164 Seven times a day do I praise thee On account of thy righteous judgments.
Je te loue sept fois le jour. Pour les arrêts de ta justice.
165 Great peace have they who love thy law, And no evil shall befall them.
Grande est la paix de ceux qui aiment ta loi: Rien ne peut les faire chanceler.
166 O LORD! I wait for thy salvation, And keep thy commandments!
Éternel, j'attends ta délivrance, Et je pratique tes commandements.
167 My soul observeth thine ordinances, And loveth them exceedingly.
Mon âme obéit à tes enseignements, Et je les aime d'un grand amour.
168 I keep thy precepts and thine ordinances; For all my ways are before thee.
J'observe tes commandements et tes lois; Car toute ma conduite est présente à tes yeux.
169 Let my prayer come near before thee, O LORD! According to thy promise, give me understanding!
Éternel, que mon cri parvienne jusqu'à toi! Donne-moi l'intelligence, conformément à ta parole!
170 Let my supplication come before thee; O deliver me according to thy promise!
Que ma supplication s'élève jusqu'à toi! Délivre-moi, suivant ta promesse!
171 My lips shall pour forth praise; For thou teachest me thy statutes.
Mes lèvres proclameront ta louange, Quand tu m'auras enseigné tes préceptes.
172 My tongue shall sing of thy word; For all thy commandments are right.
Ma langue célébrera ta parole; Car tous tes commandements sont justes.
173 Let thy hand be my help; For I have chosen thy precepts!
Étends ta main pour me venir en aide; Car je veux obéir à tes commandements.
174 I long for thy salvation, O LORD! And thy law is my delight!
Je soupire après ton salut, ô Éternel, Et ta loi fait mes délices.
175 Let me live, and I will praise thee; Let thy judgments help me!

176 I wander like a lost sheep; seek thy servant, For I do not forget thy commandments!
