< Psalms 111 >
1 Praise ye the LORD! I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, In the assembly of the righteous, and in the congregation.
Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all my heart, in the assembled congregation of his people.
2 The works of the LORD are great, Sought out by all who have pleasure in them.
Great are the things that the Lord has done, worthy of study by those who love them.
3 His deeds are honorable and glorious, And his righteousness endureth for ever.
Majestic and glorious is his work, and his righteousness abides forever.
4 He hath established a memorial of his wonders; The LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
For his marvelous deeds he has won renown; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
5 He giveth meat to them that fear him; He is ever mindful of his covenant.
Food he gives to those who fear him, always he remembers his covenant.
6 He showed his people the greatness of his works, When he gave them the inheritance of the heathen.
His mighty works he has shown to his people, in giving to them the nations for heritage.
7 The deeds of his hands are truth and justice; All his commandments are sure;
All that he does is faithful and right, all his behests are firm and sure.
8 They stand firm for ever and ever, Being founded in truth and justice.
They are established for ever and ever, executed with truth and uprightness.
9 He sent redemption to his people; He established his covenant for ever; Holy, and to be had in reverence, is his name.
To his people he sent redemption, he has appointed his covenant forever. His name is holy and awe-inspiring.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they who keep his commandments; His praise endureth for ever.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom those who keep it are wise indeed. His praise abides for ever and ever.
