Psalms 108
1 “A psalm of David.” O God! my heart is strengthened! I will sing and give thanks.
En Sang. En Salme af David.
2 Awake, my soul! awake, my psaltery and harp! I will wake with the early dawn.
Mit Hjerte er trøstigt, Gud, mit Hjerte er trøstigt; jeg vil synge og lovprise dig, vaagn op, min Ære!
3 I will praise thee, O LORD! among the nations; I will sing to thee among the peoples!
Harpe og Citer, vaagn op, jeg vil vække Morgenrøden.
4 For thy mercy reacheth to the heavens, And thy truth above the clouds.
Jeg vil takke dig, HERRE, blandt Folkeslag, lovprise dig blandt Folkefærd;
5 Exalt thyself, O God! above the heavens, And thy glory above all the earth!
thi din Miskundhed naar til Himlen, din Sandhed til Skyerne.
6 That thy beloved ones may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer me!
Løft dig, o Gud, over Himlen, din Herlighed være over al Jorden!
7 God promiseth in his holiness; I will rejoice; I shall yet divide Shechem, And measure out the valley of Succoth;
Til Frelse for dine elskede hjælp med din højre, bønhør os!
8 Gilead shall be mine, and mine Manasseh; Ephraim shall be my helmet, And Judah my sceptre.
Gud talede i sin Helligdom: »Jeg vil udskifte Sikem med Jubel, udmaale Sukkots Dal;
9 Moab shall be my washbowl; Upon Edom shall I cast my shoe; I shall triumph over Philistia.
mit er Gilead, mit er Manasse, Efraim er mit Hoveds Værn, Juda min Herskerstav,
10 Who will bring me to the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom?
Moab min Vaskeskaal, paa Edom kaster jeg min Sko, over Filisterland jubler jeg.«
11 Wilt not thou, O God! who didst forsake us, Who didst not go forth with our armies?
Hvo bringer mig til den befæstede By, hvo leder mig hen til Edom?
12 Give us thine aid in our distress, For vain is the help of man!
Har du ikke, Gud, stødt os fra dig? Du ledsager ej vore Hære.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly; For he will tread down our enemies.
Giv os dog Hjælp mod Fjenden! Blændværk er Menneskers Støtte. Med Gud skal vi øve vældige Ting, vore Fjender træder han ned!
