Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever!
¡Alabado sea Yahvé! Dad gracias a Yahvé, porque es bueno, porque su bondad es eterna.
2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?
¿Quién puede pronunciar los actos poderosos de Yahvé? o declarar plenamente todas sus alabanzas?
3 Happy are they who have regard to justice, Who practise righteousness at all times!
Dichosos los que guardan la justicia. Dichoso el que hace lo correcto en todo momento.
4 Remember me, O LORD! with the favor promised to thy people; O visit me with thy salvation!
Acuérdate de mí, Yahvé, con el favor que muestras a tu pueblo. Visítame con tu salvación,
5 That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the joy of thy people, That I may glory with thine inheritance!
para que vea la prosperidad de tus elegidos, para que me regocije en la alegría de tu nación, para que me gloríe con tu herencia.
6 We have sinned with our fathers; We have committed iniquity; we have done wickedly.
Hemos pecado con nuestros padres. Hemos cometido una iniquidad. Hemos hecho maldades.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not regard thy wonders; They remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; But rebelled at the sea, the Red sea.
Nuestros padres no entendieron tus maravillas en Egipto. No recordaron la multitud de tus bondades amorosas, pero fueron rebeldes en el mar, incluso en el Mar Rojo.
8 Yet he saved them for his own name's sake. That he might make his mighty power to be known.
Sin embargo, los salvó por su nombre, para dar a conocer su poderoso poder.
9 He rebuked the Red sea, and it was dried up, And he led them through the deep as through a desert.
También reprendió al Mar Rojo, y se secó; por lo que los condujo a través de las profundidades, como a través de un desierto.
10 He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
Los salvó de la mano del que los odiaba, y los redujo de la mano del enemigo.
11 The waters covered their enemies; There was not one of them left.
Las aguas cubrieron a sus adversarios. No quedaba ni uno de ellos.
12 Then believed they his words, And sang his praise.
Entonces creyeron en sus palabras. Cantaron sus alabanzas.
13 But they soon forgot his deeds, And waited not for his counsel.
Pronto olvidaron sus obras. No esperaron su consejo,
14 They gave way to appetite in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert;
pero cedió al deseo en el desierto, y puso a prueba a Dios en el páramo.
15 And he gave them their request, But sent upon them leanness.
Les concedió su petición, sino que enviaron a su alma la delgadez.
16 They also envied Moses in the camp, And Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.
También envidiaban a Moisés en el campamento, y Aarón, el santo de Yahvé.
17 Then the earth opened, and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram,
La tierra se abrió y se tragó a Datán, y cubrió la compañía de Abiram.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; The flames burned up the wicked.
Se encendió un fuego en su compañía. La llama quemó a los malvados.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image;
Hicieron un becerro en Horeb, y adoraron una imagen fundida.
20 They changed their God of glory Into the image of a grass-eating ox.
Así intercambiaron su gloria para una imagen de un toro que come hierba.
21 They forgot God, their saviour, Who had done such great things in Egypt,
Se olvidaron de Dios, su Salvador, que había hecho grandes cosas en Egipto,
22 Such wonders in the land of Ham. Such terrible things at the Red sea.
obras maravillosas en la tierra de Cam, y cosas impresionantes junto al Mar Rojo.
23 Then he said that he would destroy them; Had not Moses, his chosen, stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, that he might not destroy them.
Por eso dijo que los destruiría, si Moisés, su elegido, no se hubiera puesto delante de él en la brecha, para alejar su ira, para que no los destruya.
24 They also despised the pleasant land, And believed not his word;
Sí, despreciaron la tierra agradable. No creyeron en su palabra,
25 But murmured in their tents, And would not hearken to the voice of the LORD.
sino que murmuraban en sus tiendas, y no escucharon la voz de Yahvé.
26 Then he lifted up his hand against them, And swore that he would make them fall in the wilderness;
Por eso les juró que los derrocaría en el desierto,
27 That he would overthrow their descendants among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.
que él derrocaría a su descendencia entre las naciones, y dispersarlos en las tierras.
28 They also gave themselves to the worship of Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to lifeless idols.
También se unieron a Baal Peor, y comieron los sacrificios de los muertos.
29 Thus they provoked his anger by their practices, And a plague broke in upon them.
Así le provocaron la ira con sus actos. La peste se abatió sobre ellos.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment, And the plague was stayed.
Entonces Finees se levantó y ejecutó el juicio, por lo que la plaga fue detenida.
31 And this was counted to him for righteousness, To all generations for ever.
Eso se le acreditó como justicia, para todas las generaciones venideras.
32 They provoked him also at the waters of Meribah [[strife]], And evil befell Moses on their account.
También lo enfurecieron en las aguas de Meribá, por lo que Moisés se preocupó por ellos;
33 For they provoked his spirit, So that he spake inconsiderately with his lips.
porque eran rebeldes a su espíritu, habló precipitadamente con los labios.
34 They did not destroy the nations, As Jehovah had commanded them.
No destruyeron los pueblos, como les ordenó Yahvé,
35 They mingled themselves with the peoples, And learned their practices.
sino que se mezclaron con las naciones, y aprendieron sus obras.
36 They even worshipped their idols, Which became to them a snare.
Servían a sus ídolos, que se convirtió en una trampa para ellos.
37 Their sons and their daughters they sacrificed to demons,
Sí, sacrificaron a sus hijos e hijas a los demonios.
38 And shed innocent blood, The blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.
Derramaron sangre inocente, incluso la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron a los ídolos de Canaán. La tierra estaba contaminada con sangre.
39 Thus they defiled themselves with their works, And played the harlot with their practices.
Así se contaminaron con sus obras, y se prostituyeron en sus actos.
40 Then burned the anger of the LORD against his people, So that he abhorred his own inheritance.
Por eso Yahvé ardió de ira contra su pueblo. Aborrecía su herencia.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the nations, And they who hated them ruled over them.
Los entregó en manos de las naciones. Los que los odiaban los gobernaban.
42 Their enemies oppressed them, And they were bowed down under their hand.
Sus enemigos también los oprimieron. Fueron sometidos bajo su mano.
43 Many times did he deliver them; But they provoked him by their devices, And they were brought low for their iniquities.
Los rescató muchas veces, pero fueron rebeldes en su consejo, y fueron abatidos en su iniquidad.
44 Yet, when he heard their cries, He had regard to their affliction;
Sin embargo, él consideró su angustia, cuando escuchó su grito.
45 He remembered his covenant with them, And repented according to the greatness of his mercy,
Se acordó por ellos de su pacto, y se arrepintió según la multitud de sus bondades.
46 And caused them to find pity Among all that carried them captive.
También hizo que se compadecieran de ellos por todos aquellos que los llevaron cautivos.
47 Save us, O Jehovah, our God! and gather us from among the nations, That we may give thanks to thy holy name, And glory in thy praise!
Sálvanos, Yahvé, nuestro Dios, reunirnos de entre las naciones, para dar gracias a tu santo nombre, ¡para triunfar en tu alabanza!
48 [Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise ye Jehovah!]
Bendito sea Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, ¡desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad! Que todo el pueblo diga: “Amén”. ¡Alabado sea Yah!
