Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever!
Dicsérjétek az Urat. Magasztaljátok az Urat, mert jó; mert örökkévaló az ő kegyelme.
2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?
Ki beszélhetné el az Úr nagy tetteit? és jelenthetné ki minden dicsőségét?
3 Happy are they who have regard to justice, Who practise righteousness at all times!
Boldog, a ki megtartja a törvényt, és igazán cselekszik minden időben.
4 Remember me, O LORD! with the favor promised to thy people; O visit me with thy salvation!
Emlékezzél reám, Uram, népedhez való jóságodért; jőjj el hozzám szabadításoddal,
5 That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the joy of thy people, That I may glory with thine inheritance!
Hogy láthassam választottaidhoz való jóvoltodat, és örvendezhessek néped örömében; hogy dicsekedjem a te örökségeddel!
6 We have sinned with our fathers; We have committed iniquity; we have done wickedly.
Vétkeztünk atyáinkkal együtt; bűnösök, gonoszok valánk.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not regard thy wonders; They remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; But rebelled at the sea, the Red sea.
Atyáink nem értették meg Égyiptomban csodáidat, nem emlegették meg kegyelmed nagyságát, hanem daczoskodtak a tengernél, a veres tengernél.
8 Yet he saved them for his own name's sake. That he might make his mighty power to be known.
De ő megsegíté őket az ő nevéért, hogy megismertesse a maga erejét.
9 He rebuked the Red sea, and it was dried up, And he led them through the deep as through a desert.
Rákiálta a veres tengerre és kiszáradt, s úgy vivé őket a mélységeken, mint egy síkon.
10 He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
És kisegíté őket a gyűlölő kezéből; kimentette őket ellenség kezéből.
11 The waters covered their enemies; There was not one of them left.
Szorongatóikat víz borította el, egy sem maradt meg belőlük.
12 Then believed they his words, And sang his praise.
És hittek az ő beszédeinek, és énekelték az ő dicséretét.
13 But they soon forgot his deeds, And waited not for his counsel.
Hirtelen elfeledék cselekedeteit; nem várák az ő tanácsát!
14 They gave way to appetite in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert;
Epekedés epeszté őket a pusztában, és próbára tevék Istent a sivatagon.
15 And he gave them their request, But sent upon them leanness.
És megadá nékik, a mit kivántak; és ösztövérséget bocsáta lelkökbe.
16 They also envied Moses in the camp, And Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.
És irigységre indulának Mózes ellen a táborban, az Úr szentje, Áron ellen.
17 Then the earth opened, and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram,
Megnyilt a föld és elnyelé Dátánt, és beborítá Abirám seregét.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; The flames burned up the wicked.
És tűz gyulladt fel azok seregében, láng égeté el a gonoszokat.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image;
Borjút csináltak a Hóreb alatt, és hajlongtak az öntött bálvány előtt.
20 They changed their God of glory Into the image of a grass-eating ox.
Felcserélték az ő dicsőségöket: ökörnek képével, a mely füvet eszik.
21 They forgot God, their saviour, Who had done such great things in Egypt,
Elfeledkezének Istenről, szabadítójokról, a ki nagy dolgokat művelt Égyiptomban,
22 Such wonders in the land of Ham. Such terrible things at the Red sea.
Csodákat a Khám országában, félelmetes dolgokat a veres tenger mellett.
23 Then he said that he would destroy them; Had not Moses, his chosen, stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, that he might not destroy them.
Gondolta, hogy kipusztítja őket; de Mózes, az ő választottja, elébe állott a résre, hogy elfordítsa haragját, hogy el ne veszítse őket.
24 They also despised the pleasant land, And believed not his word;
És becsmérelték a kivánatos földet, nem hittek az ő igéretének.
25 But murmured in their tents, And would not hearken to the voice of the LORD.
És morgolódtak sátraikban, és nem hallgattak az Úr szavára.
26 Then he lifted up his hand against them, And swore that he would make them fall in the wilderness;
De ő felemelé kezét reájok, hogy lesújtsa őket a pusztában;
27 That he would overthrow their descendants among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.
S hogy a pogányok közé dobja magvaikat, és szétszórja őket a tartományokban.
28 They also gave themselves to the worship of Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to lifeless idols.
Majd hozzácsapódtak a Baál-Peorhoz, és ették a holtak áldozatait.
29 Thus they provoked his anger by their practices, And a plague broke in upon them.
És felingerelték cselekedeteikkel, és zúdult reájok a csapás.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment, And the plague was stayed.
Ekkor felállott Fineás és ítélt; és a csapásnak vége lőn.
31 And this was counted to him for righteousness, To all generations for ever.
És igazságul tulajdoníttaték néki firól-fira mindörökké.
32 They provoked him also at the waters of Meribah [[strife]], And evil befell Moses on their account.
Megharagíták a Meribáh vizeinél is, és baja támadt Mózesnek miattok,
33 For they provoked his spirit, So that he spake inconsiderately with his lips.
Mert megkeseríték az ő szívét, és gondatlanul szólt ajkaival.
34 They did not destroy the nations, As Jehovah had commanded them.
Nem irtották ki a népeket sem, a mint utasította őket az Úr.
35 They mingled themselves with the peoples, And learned their practices.
Sőt összeelegyedtek a pogányokkal, és eltanulták cselekedeteiket.
36 They even worshipped their idols, Which became to them a snare.
És tisztelték azoknak bálványait, és tőrré levének azok reájok.
37 Their sons and their daughters they sacrificed to demons,
És feláldozák fiaikat és leányaikat az ördögöknek,
38 And shed innocent blood, The blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.
És ártatlan vért ontának: fiaik és leányaik vérét, a kiket Kanaán bálványainak áldoztak, és megfertőzteték a föld öldökléssel.
39 Thus they defiled themselves with their works, And played the harlot with their practices.
És tisztátalanokká lőnek cselekedeteikben, és paráznákká tetteikben.
40 Then burned the anger of the LORD against his people, So that he abhorred his own inheritance.
De felgyúlt az Úr haragja népe ellen, és megútálta az ő örökségét.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the nations, And they who hated them ruled over them.
És odaadá őket pogányok kezébe, és gyűlölőik uralkodtak rajtok.
42 Their enemies oppressed them, And they were bowed down under their hand.
És sanyargatták őket ellenségeik, és görnyedtek azoknak hatalma alatt!
43 Many times did he deliver them; But they provoked him by their devices, And they were brought low for their iniquities.
Számtalanszor megmentette őket, de ők felháboríták szándékaikkal, és mélyebben merültek bűneikbe.
44 Yet, when he heard their cries, He had regard to their affliction;
De reájok tekintett a nyomorúság napján, mikor meghallgatá rimánkodásukat;
45 He remembered his covenant with them, And repented according to the greatness of his mercy,
És megemlékezett velök kötött szövetségéről, és nagy kegyelmessége szerint megengesztelődék.
46 And caused them to find pity Among all that carried them captive.
És könyörületességre indítá irántok mindazokat, a kik őket fogva elvivék.
47 Save us, O Jehovah, our God! and gather us from among the nations, That we may give thanks to thy holy name, And glory in thy praise!
Segíts meg minket, Urunk Istenünk, és gyűjts össze minket a pogányok közül, hogy dicsőítsük a te szent nevedet, és dicsekedjünk a te dicséreteddel.
48 [Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise ye Jehovah!]
Áldott legyen az Úr, Izráel Istene örökkön örökké, és minden nép mondja: Ámen. Dicsérjétek az Urat.
