< Psalms 106 >
1 Praise ye the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever!
Louwe SENYÈ la! O bay remèsiman a SENYÈ a, paske Li bon, paske lanmou dous Li an se pou tout tan.
2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?
Se kilès ki kab pale sou zèv pwisan a SENYÈ yo, Oswa fè vin parèt tout lwanj Li yo?
3 Happy are they who have regard to justice, Who practise righteousness at all times!
4 Remember me, O LORD! with the favor promised to thy people; O visit me with thy salvation!
Sonje mwen, O SENYÈ, nan favè Ou anvè pèp Ou a. Vizite mwen avèk sali Ou,
5 That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the joy of thy people, That I may glory with thine inheritance!
pou m kab wè (sila) ke Ou te chwazi yo byen reyisi; pou m kab rejwi nan kè kontan a nasyon Ou an, pou m ka bay glwa de eritaj Ou.
6 We have sinned with our fathers; We have committed iniquity; we have done wickedly.
Nou te peche menm jan ak papa zansèt nou yo. Nou te fè inikite; nou te aji mal.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not regard thy wonders; They remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; But rebelled at the sea, the Red sea.
Papa zansèt nou yo an Égypte pa t konprann mèvèy Ou yo. Yo pa t sonje lamou dous Ou, men yo te fè rebèl bò lanmè a, nan Lanmè Wouj la.
8 Yet he saved them for his own name's sake. That he might make his mighty power to be known.
Sepandan, Li te sove yo pou koz non Li, pou L te kab fè pwisans Li rekonèt.
9 He rebuked the Red sea, and it was dried up, And he led them through the deep as through a desert.
Konsa, Li te repwoche Lanmè Wouj, e li te vin sèch, Li te mennen yo pase nan fon yo, menm jan yo te pase nan dezè a.
10 He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
Konsa, Li te sove yo depi nan men a (sila) ki te rayi yo, e te rachte yo soti nan men a lènmi an.
11 The waters covered their enemies; There was not one of them left.
Dlo yo te kouvri advèsè yo. Nanpwen nan yo ki te rete.
12 Then believed they his words, And sang his praise.
Nan lè sa a, yo te kwè nan pawòl Li yo. Yo te chante lwanj Li.
13 But they soon forgot his deeds, And waited not for his counsel.
Men byen vit, yo te bliye zèv Li yo. Yo pa t tann konsèy Li,
14 They gave way to appetite in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert;
men yo te vin gen gwo anvi nan savann nan, e te pase Bondye a leprèv nan dezè a.
15 And he gave them their request, But sent upon them leanness.
Pou sa, Li te ba yo sa yo te mande a, men te voye yon maladi epwizan pami yo.
16 They also envied Moses in the camp, And Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.
Yo te vin jalou a Moïse nan kan an, ak Aaron, fidèl sen a SENYÈ a.
17 Then the earth opened, and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram,
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; The flames burned up the wicked.
Konsa, yon gwo dife te vin monte nan mitan konpanyen yo. Flanm nan te manje mechan yo.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image;
Yo te fè yon jèn bèf nan Horeb. Yo te adore yon imaj fonn.
20 They changed their God of glory Into the image of a grass-eating ox.
Yo te fè echanj glwa yo pou imaj a yon bèf ki manje zèb.
21 They forgot God, their saviour, Who had done such great things in Egypt,
22 Such wonders in the land of Ham. Such terrible things at the Red sea.
mèvèy nan peyi Cham yo, ak bagay mèvèy bò Lanmè Wouj la.
23 Then he said that he would destroy them; Had not Moses, his chosen, stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, that he might not destroy them.
Akoz sa, Li te di Li ta detwi yo, men se te Moïse ki te kanpe nan brèch la devan Li, pou detounen kòlè Li pou l pa t detwi yo.
24 They also despised the pleasant land, And believed not his word;
Alò, yo te meprize bèl peyi a. Yo pa t kwè nan pawòl Li,
25 But murmured in their tents, And would not hearken to the voice of the LORD.
men te plenyen nan tant yo. Yo pa t koute vwa SENYÈ a.
26 Then he lifted up his hand against them, And swore that he would make them fall in the wilderness;
Akoz sa, Li te sèmante a yo ke Li ta jete yo nan dezè a,
27 That he would overthrow their descendants among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.
ke Li ta voye desandan yo pami nasyon yo, e gaye yo nan peyi yo.
28 They also gave themselves to the worship of Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to lifeless idols.
29 Thus they provoked his anger by their practices, And a plague broke in upon them.
Konsa, yo te pwovoke Li a lakòlè ak zèv yo. E yon epidemi te kase vin parèt nan mitan yo.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment, And the plague was stayed.
Epi Phinées te kanpe pou te entèsede, epi epidemi an te vin sispann.
31 And this was counted to him for righteousness, To all generations for ever.
32 They provoked him also at the waters of Meribah [[strife]], And evil befell Moses on their account.
Anplis, yo te pwovoke Li a lakòlè bò dlo Meriba yo, Jiskaske sa te sòti byen mal pou Moïse sou kont yo.
33 For they provoked his spirit, So that he spake inconsiderately with his lips.
Akoz yo te fè rebèl kont Lespri Li a, Li te pale san reflechi avèk lèv li.
34 They did not destroy the nations, As Jehovah had commanded them.
Yo pa t detwi lòt pèp yo, jan SENYÈ a te kòmande yo a,
35 They mingled themselves with the peoples, And learned their practices.
men yo te fè melanj ak nasyon yo. Yo te aprann abitid yo.
36 They even worshipped their idols, Which became to them a snare.
37 Their sons and their daughters they sacrificed to demons,
Se te menm pwòp fi ak fis yo ke yo ofri kon sakrifis a dyab yo.
38 And shed innocent blood, The blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.
Yo te vèse san inosan, san a pwop fis ak fi yo, ke yo te bay kon sakrifis a zidòl Canaan yo. Peyi a te kontamine nèt ak san.
39 Thus they defiled themselves with their works, And played the harlot with their practices.
40 Then burned the anger of the LORD against his people, So that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the nations, And they who hated them ruled over them.
Konsa, Li te bay yo nan men a nasyon yo, pou (sila) ki te rayi yo vin renye sou yo.
42 Their enemies oppressed them, And they were bowed down under their hand.
Lènmi yo, anplis, te oprime yo, e yo te oblije soumèt anba pouvwa yo.
43 Many times did he deliver them; But they provoked him by their devices, And they were brought low for their iniquities.
Anpil fwa, Li te delivre yo. Malgre, yo menm te plen rebelyon nan konsèy yo, e te plonje desann nan inikite yo.
44 Yet, when he heard their cries, He had regard to their affliction;
Sepandan, Li te gade twoub yo lè Li te tande kri yo.
45 He remembered his covenant with them, And repented according to the greatness of his mercy,
Li te vin sonje akò Li pou koz yo menm, e te vin ralanti selon grandè lanmou dous Li a.
46 And caused them to find pity Among all that carried them captive.
47 Save us, O Jehovah, our God! and gather us from among the nations, That we may give thanks to thy holy name, And glory in thy praise!
Sove nou, O SENYÈ, Bondye nou an. Ranmase nou pami nasyon yo, pou bay remèsiman a non sen Ou an, avèk viktwa ki sòti nan lwanj Ou yo.
48 [Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise ye Jehovah!]
Louwe SENYÈ a!
