Psalms 1

1 “BOOK I” Happy the man who walketh not in the counsel of the unrighteous, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers;

¡Inmensamente feliz es el varón que no anduvo en consejo de impíos, Ni se detuvo en camino de pecadores, Ni se sentó en silla de burladores!

2 But whose delight is in the law of the LORD, And who meditateth on his precepts day and night.

Sino en la Ley de Yavé halla complacencia, Y en su Ley reflexiona de día y de noche.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaves also do not wither: All that he doeth shall prosper.

Será como árbol plantado junto a corrientes de agua Que da su fruto a su tiempo Y su follaje no se marchita. Todo lo que hace tendrá éxito.

4 Not so the unrighteous; They are like chaff, which the wind driveth away.

No así los impíos, Que son como cáscara de grano levantada por el viento.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the just.

Por tanto, no se levantarán los impíos en el juicio.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked leadeth to ruin.

Porque Yavé conoce el camino de los justos, Pero la senda de los impíos lleva a destrucción.
