< Proverbs 5 >

1 My son, attend to my wisdom. And bow thine ear to my understanding;
Ọmọ mi, fiyèsí ọgbọ́n mi, kí o sì dẹtí rẹ sí òye mi,
2 That thou mayest keep discretion, And that thy lips may preserve knowledge!
kí ìwọ sì lè ní ìṣọ́ra kí ètè rẹ sì le pa ìmọ̀ mọ́.
3 Truly, the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;
Nítorí ètè àwọn àjèjì obìnrin a máa sun bi oyin, ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ sì kúnná ju òróró lọ.
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
Ṣùgbọ́n ní ìgbẹ̀yìn gbẹ́yín, ó korò ju òróǹró lọ, ó mú bí idà olójú méjì.
5 Her feet go down to death; Her steps lay hold of the under-world. (Sheol h7585)
Ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ọ̀nà ikú ìgbésẹ̀ rẹ̀ lọ tààrà sí ibojì òkú. (Sheol h7585)
6 That she may not ponder the way of life, Her paths waver when she heedeth it not.
Kí ìwọ má ba à já ipa ọ̀nà ìyè; ọ̀nà rẹ̀ rí pálapàla, ṣùgbọ́n kò tilẹ̀ mọ́.
7 Hear me now, therefore, O children! And turn not away from the words of my mouth!
Nítorí náà, ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi, ẹ dẹtí sí mi, kí ẹ̀yin kí ó má ṣe yàgò kúrò nínú ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo sọ.
8 Remove thy way far from her. And come not nigh the door of her house:
Rìn ní ọ̀nà tí ó jìnnà sí ti rẹ̀, má ṣe súnmọ́ ẹnu-ọ̀nà ilé rẹ̀,
9 Lest thou give thy bloom to others, And thy years to a cruel one;
àìṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ ìwọ yóò gbé gbogbo ọlá rẹ lé ẹlòmíràn lọ́wọ́ àti ọjọ́ ayé rẹ fún ìkà ènìyàn.
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, And thine earnings be in the house of an alien;
Kí a má ba à fi ọrọ̀ rẹ fún àjèjì ènìyàn, kí làálàá rẹ sì sọ ilé ẹlòmíràn di ọlọ́rọ̀.
11 And lest thou mourn in thy latter end. When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Ní ìgbẹ̀yìn ayé rẹ ìwọ yóò kérora, nígbà tí agbára rẹ àti ara rẹ bá ti joro tán.
12 And say, “How have I hated instruction! And how hath my heart despised reproof!
Ìwọ yóò wí pé, “Mo ti kórìíra ẹ̀kọ́ tó! Ọkàn mi ṣe wá kórìíra ìbáwí!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to my instructors;
N kò gbọ́rọ̀ sí àwọn olùkọ́ mi lẹ́nu, tàbí kí n fetí sí àwọn tí ń kọ́ mi lẹ́kọ̀ọ́.
14 I have well-nigh fallen into utter misery; In the midst of the congregation and the assembly.”
Mo ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ ìparun pátápátá ní àárín gbogbo àwùjọ ènìyàn.”
15 Drink water out of thine own cistern. And running water out of thine own well:
Mu omi láti inú kànga tìrẹ, omi tí ń sàn láti inú kànga rẹ.
16 So shall thy fountains overflow in the streets, In the wide streets, as streams of water;
Ó ha yẹ kí omi ìsun rẹ kún àkúnya sí ojú ọ̀nà àti odò tí ń sàn lọ sí àárín ọjà?
17 They shall belong to thee alone, And not to strangers with thee;
Jẹ́ kí wọn jẹ́ tìrẹ nìkan, má ṣe ṣe àjọpín wọn pẹ̀lú àjèjì láéláé.
18 And thy fountain shall be blessed, Yea, thou shalt have joy in the wife of thy youth.
Jẹ́ kí orísun rẹ kí ó ní ìbùkún; kí ìwọ ó sì máa yọ nínú aya ìgbà èwe rẹ.
19 A lovely hind, a graceful doe, Her breasts shall satisfy thee at all times, And thou shalt be always ravished with her love.
Abo àgbọ̀nrín tó dára, ìgalà tí ó wu ni jọjọ, jẹ́ kí ọmú rẹ̀ kí ó máa fi ayọ̀ fún ọ nígbà gbogbo, kí o sì máa yọ̀ nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ nígbàkígbà.
20 Why, then, my son, wilt thou be ravished with a wanton, And embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Ọmọ mi, èéṣe tí ìwọ ó fi máa yọ̀ nínú ìfẹ́ obìnrin panṣágà, tí ìwọ ó sì fi dì mọ́ ìyàwó ẹlòmíràn?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, And he weigheth well all his paths.
Nítorí ọ̀nà ènìyàn kò fi ara sin rárá fún Olúwa Ó sì ń gbé gbogbo ọ̀nà rẹ̀ yẹ̀ wò.
22 His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked; Yea, he shall be held fast by the cords of his own sins.
Ìwà búburú ènìyàn búburú ni yóò mú kó bọ́ sínú okùn; okùn ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ara rẹ̀ yóò sì dìímú.
23 He shall die for want of instruction; Yea, through the greatness of his folly he shall stagger.
Yóò kú ní àìgba ẹ̀kọ́ ìwà òmùgọ̀ ara rẹ̀ yóò sì mú kí ó máa ṣìnà kiri.
