Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend to my wisdom. And bow thine ear to my understanding;
੧ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਲਾ,
2 That thou mayest keep discretion, And that thy lips may preserve knowledge!
੨ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੱਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹੀ ਰੱਖਣ,
3 Truly, the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil;
੩ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਾਈ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਟਪਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੇਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਚਿਕਨੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword.
੪ਪਰ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨਾਗਦੌਣੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਕੌੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਧਾਰੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਜਿਹੀ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ!
੫ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਲਹਿ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕਦਮ ਪਤਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (Sheol h7585)
6 That she may not ponder the way of life, Her paths waver when she heedeth it not.
੬ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ, ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਭਟਕਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ।
7 Hear me now, therefore, O children! And turn not away from the words of my mouth!
੭ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਮੁੜ।
8 Remove thy way far from her. And come not nigh the door of her house:
੮ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੀ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਜਾ,
9 Lest thou give thy bloom to others, And thy years to a cruel one;
੯ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਦਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮਰ ਨਿਰਦਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਂ,
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, And thine earnings be in the house of an alien;
੧੦ਕਿਤੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਓਪਰੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾਵੇ
11 And lest thou mourn in thy latter end. When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਰੋਵੇਂ
12 And say, “How have I hated instruction! And how hath my heart despised reproof!
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਆਖੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੇ ਤਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਿਆ!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to my instructors;
੧੩ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਮੰਨੀ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸਤਾਦਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਇਆ!
14 I have well-nigh fallen into utter misery; In the midst of the congregation and the assembly.”
੧੪ਮੰਡਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ-ਤੇੜੇ ਸੀ।
15 Drink water out of thine own cistern. And running water out of thine own well:
੧੫ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਕੁੰਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਖੂਹ ਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਦਾ ਜਲ ਪੀਆ ਕਰ।
16 So shall thy fountains overflow in the streets, In the wide streets, as streams of water;
੧੬ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਂ ਚੌਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ?
17 They shall belong to thee alone, And not to strangers with thee;
੧੭ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਹੋਣ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵੀ।
18 And thy fountain shall be blessed, Yea, thou shalt have joy in the wife of thy youth.
੧੮ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਤਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਹਿ।
19 A lovely hind, a graceful doe, Her breasts shall satisfy thee at all times, And thou shalt be always ravished with her love.
੧੯ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹਰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਹਰਨੋਟੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਛਾਤੀਆਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਿੱਤ ਓਸੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਰਹਿ।
20 Why, then, my son, wilt thou be ravished with a wanton, And embrace the bosom of a stranger?
੨੦ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਰਾਈ ਔਰਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਓਪਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਸੀਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਵੇਂ?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, And he weigheth well all his paths.
੨੧ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
22 His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked; Yea, he shall be held fast by the cords of his own sins.
੨੨ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਜਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਾ ਲੈਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
23 He shall die for want of instruction; Yea, through the greatness of his folly he shall stagger.
੨੩ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਡਾਢੀ ਮੂਰਖਤਾਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰੇਗਾ।
