Proverbs 31
1 The words given to King Lemuel; the prophecy which his mother taught him.
लमविएल बादशाह के पैग़ाम की बातें जो उसकी माँ ने उसको सिखाई:
2 What, O my son! and what, O son of my womb! Yea, what, O son of my vows! [[shall I say to thee?]]
ऐ मेरे बेटे, ऐ मेरे रिहम के बेटे, तुझे, जिसे मैंने नज़्रे माँग कर पाया क्या कहूँ?
3 Give not thy strength to women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings!
अपनी क़ुव्वत 'औरतों को न दे, और अपनी राहें बादशाहों को बिगाड़ने वालियों की तरफ़ न निकाल।
4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel! It is not for kings to drink wine, Nor for princes to desire strong drink;
बादशाहों को ऐ लमविएल, बादशाहों को मयख़्वारी ज़ेबा नहीं, और शराब की तलाश हाकिमों को शायान नहीं।
5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, And pervert the rights of any of the afflicted.
ऐसा न हो वह पीकर क़वानीन को भूल जाए, और किसी मज़लूम की हक़ तलफ़ी करें।
6 Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, And wine to him that hath a heavy heart;
शराब उसको पिलाओ जो मरने पर है, और मय उसको जो तल्ख़ जान है
7 Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more!
ताकि वह पिए और अपनी तंगदस्ती फ़रामोश करे, और अपनी तबाह हाली को फिर याद न करे
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb, In the cause of every orphan!
अपना मुँह गूँगे के लिए खोल उन सबकी वकालत को जो बेकस हैं।
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, And maintain the cause of the poor and needy!
अपना मुँह खोल, रास्ती से फ़ैसलाकर, और ग़रीबों और मुहताजों का इन्साफ़ कर।
10 Who can find a capable woman? Her worth is far above pearls.
नेकोकार बीवी किसको मिलती है? क्यूँकि उसकी क़द्र मरजान से भी बहुत ज़्यादा है।
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he is in no want of gain.
उसके शौहर के दिल को उस पर भरोसा है, और उसे मुनाफ़े' की कमी न होगी।
12 She doeth him good, and not evil, All the days of her life.
वह अपनी उम्र के तमाम दिनों में, उससे नेकी ही करेगी, बदी न करेगी।
13 She seeketh wool and flax, And worketh willingly with her hands.
वह ऊन और कतान ढूंडती है, और ख़ुशी के साथ अपने हाथों से काम करती है।
14 She is like the merchants' ships; She bringeth her food from afar.
वह सौदागरों के जहाज़ों की तरह है, वह अपनी ख़ुराक दूर से ले आती है।
15 She riseth while it is yet night, And giveth food to her family, And a task to her maidens.
वह रात ही को उठ बैठती है, और अपने घराने को खिलाती है, और अपनी लौंडियों को काम देती है।
16 She layeth a plan for a field, and buyeth it; With the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
वह किसी खेत की बारे में सोचती हैऔर उसे ख़रीद लेती है; और अपने हाथों के नफ़े' से ताकिस्तान लगाती है।
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.
वह मज़बूती से अपनी कमर बाँधती है, और अपने बाज़ुओं को मज़बूत करती है।
18 She perceiveth how pleasant is her gain, And her lamp is not extinguished in the night.
वह अपनी सौदागरी को सूदमंद पाती है। रात को उसका चिराग़ नहीं बुझता।
19 She putteth forth her hands to the distaff, And her hands take hold of the spindle.
वह तकले पर अपने हाथ चलाती है, और उसके हाथ अटेरन पकड़ते हैं।
20 She spreadeth out her hand to the poor, Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
वह ग़रीबों की तरफ़ अपना हाथ बढ़ाती है, हाँ, वह अपने हाथ मोहताजों की तरफ़ बढ़ाती है।
21 She hath no fear for her household on account of the snow, For all her household are clothed with crimson.
वह अपने घराने के लिए बर्फ़ से नहीं डरती, क्यूँकि उसके ख़ान्दान में हर एक सुर्ख पोश है।
22 She maketh for herself coverlets; Her clothing is of fine linen and purple.
वह अपने लिए निगारीन बाला पोश बनाती है; उसकी पोशाक महीन कतानी और अर्गवानी है।
23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sitteth with the elders of the land.
उसका शौहर फाटक में मशहूर है, जब वह मुल्क के बुज़ुगों के साथ बैठता है।
24 She maketh linen garments and selleth them, And delivereth girdles to the merchant.
वह महीन कतानी कपड़े बनाकर बेचती है; और पटके सौदागरों के हवाले करती है।
25 Strength and honor are her clothing; And she laugheth at the days to come.
'इज़्ज़त और हुर्मत उसकी पोशाक हैं, और वह आइंदा दिनों पर हँसती है।
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom, And kind instruction is upon her tongue.
उसके मुँह से हिकमत की बातें निकलती हैं, उसकी ज़बान पर शफ़क़त की ता'लीम है।
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness.
वह अपने घराने पर बख़ूबी निगाह रखती है, और काहिली की रोटी नहीं खाती।
28 Her children rise up, and extol her; Her husband, and praiseth her, [[saving, ]]
उसके बेटे उठते हैं और उसे मुबारक कहते हैं; उसका शौहर भी उसकी ता'रीफ़ करता है:
29 “Many daughters have done, virtuously, But thou excellest them all.”
“कि बहुतेरी बेटियों ने फ़ज़ीलत दिखाई है, लेकिन तू सब से आगे बढ़ गई।”
30 Grace is deceitful, and beauty vain; But the woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
हुस्न, धोका और जमाल बेसबात है, लेकिन वह 'औरत जो ख़ुदावन्द से डरती है, सतुदा होगी।
31 Give ye her of the fruit of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.
उसकी मेहनत का बदला उसे दो, और उसके कामों से मजलिस में उसकी ता'रीफ़ हो।
