Proverbs 27
1 Boast not thyself of to-morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth!
౧రేపటి రోజును గూర్చి డంబాలు పలక వద్దు. ఏ రోజున ఏమి జరుగుతుందో ఎవరికి తెలుసు?
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.
౨నీ నోరు కాదు, వేరొకరు ఎవరన్నా, నీ స్వంత పెదవులు కాదు ఇతరులే నిన్ను పొగడాలి.
3 A stone is heavy and sand is weighty; But a fool's wrath is heavier than both.
౩రాయి బరువు ఇసక భారం గదా. మూర్ఖుడి కోపం ఆ రెంటికంటే బరువు.
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger overwhelming; But who is able to stand before jealousy?
౪క్రోధం క్రూరమైనది. కోపం వరదలాగా ముంచెత్తుతుంది. రోషం ఎదుట నిలవ గలిగేది ఎవరు?
5 Better is open rebuke Than love kept concealed.
౫లోలోపల ప్రేమించడం కంటే బహిరంగంగా గద్దించడం మేలు.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
౬స్నేహితుడు మేలు కోరి గాయాలు చేస్తాడు. శత్రువు లెక్క లేనన్ని ముద్దులు పెడతాడు.
7 He who is fed to the full loatheth the honeycomb; But to the hungry any bitter thing is sweet.
౭కడుపు నిండిన వాడు తేనెపట్టునైనా సరే కాళ్ళతో తొక్కేస్తాడు. ఆకలి వేసిన వాడికి చేదు పదార్థమైనా తియ్యగా ఉంటుంది.
8 As a bird that wandereth from its nest, So is a man who wandereth from his place.
౮తన సొంత ఇల్లు విడిచిపెట్టి తిరిగేవాడు గూడు విడిచి తిరిగే పక్షితో సమానం.
9 Oil and perfume gladden the heart; Sweet also is one's friend by hearty counsel.
౯పరిమళం, సుగంధం హృదయాన్ని సంతోషపెడుతుంది. అలాగే మిత్రుడి హృదయంలో నుండి వచ్చే మధుర వాక్కులు హృదయాన్ని సంతోషపెడతాయి.
10 Thine own friend and thy father's friend forsake not; And go not into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity. Better is a neighbor that is near, than a brother far off.
౧౦నీ స్నేహితుడినైనా నీ తండ్రి స్నేహితుడినైనా విడిచి పెట్టవద్దు. నీ ఆపద దినాన నీ అన్నదమ్ముల ఇళ్ళకు వెళ్లకు. దూరంగా ఉన్న సోదరుడి కంటే దగ్గరున్న పొరుగువాడే మంచిది.
11 Be wise, my son, and make my heart glad, That I may give an answer to him that reproacheth me.
౧౧కుమారా, జ్ఞానం సంపాదించి నా హృదయాన్ని సంతోషపెట్టు. అప్పుడు నన్ను నిందించే వారితో నేను ధైర్యంగా మాటలాడతాను.
12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; The simple pass on, and are punished.
౧౨బుద్ధిమంతుడు అపాయం రావడం చూసి దాక్కుంటాడు. జ్ఞానం లేనివారు నిర్లక్ష్యంగా ఆపదలో పడతారు.
13 Take his garment who is surety for another; Yea, take a pledge of him who is bound for a stranger.
౧౩ఎదుటి మనిషి విషయంలో హామీ ఉండే వాడి నుంచి అతని వస్త్రం తీసుకో. ఇతరుల కోసం పూచీ తీసుకున్న వాడిచేత వాడి వస్తువులు తాకట్టు పెట్టించు.
14 He who blesseth his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early for it, It shall be accounted to him as a curse.
౧౪పొద్దున్నే లేచి పెద్ద గొంతుకతో తన స్నేహితుణ్ణి దీవించే వాడి దీవెన అతని పాలిట శాపమే.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day And a quarrelsome wife are alike.
౧౫ముసురు పట్టిన రోజున ఏక ధారగా కురుస్తూ ఉండే నీళ్లు, గయ్యాళి ఇల్లాలు ఒకటే.
16 He who restraineth her restraineth the wind; And his right hand layeth hold of oil.
౧౬ఆమెను ఆపాలని ప్రయత్నించేవాడు గాలిని ఆపాలని ప్రయత్నించే వాడితో సమానం. తన కుడిచేతిలో నూనె పట్టుకోవాలని ప్రయత్నించడంతో సమానం.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; So one man sharpeneth the face of another.
౧౭ఇనుము చేత ఇనుము పదును అవుతుంది. అలాగే ఒక మనిషి తన సాటి మనిషికి పదును పెడతాడు.
18 He that watcheth the fig-tree shall eat its fruit; So he that is careful for his master shall come to honor.
౧౮అంజూరు చెట్టు పెంచేవాడు దాని పండ్లు తింటాడు. తన యజమానిని గౌరవించే వాడు ఘనత పొందుతాడు.
19 As in water face answereth to face, So doth the heart of man to man.
౧౯నీటిలో ముఖానికి ముఖం కనబడినట్టు ఒకడి మనస్సుకు మరొకడి మనస్సు కనబడుతుంది.
౨౦పాతాళానికి, అగాధానికి తృప్తి ఉండదు. అలానే మనిషి కోరికలకు ఎప్పటికీ తృప్తి ఉండదు. (Sheol h7585)
21 The refining-pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; So let a man be to the mouth that giveth him praise.
౨౧మూసతో వెండిని కొలిమితో బంగారాన్ని తాను పొందిన కీర్తితో మనిషిని పరీక్షించి చూడ వచ్చు.
22 Though thou shouldst beat a fool in a mortar, Among bruised wheat, with a pestle, Yet will not his folly depart from him.
౨౨మూర్ఖుడిని గోదుమలలోబాటు రోకలితో దంచినా వాడి మూఢత వాణ్ణి వదలిపోదు.
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, And look well to thy herds!
౨౩నీ పశువుల స్థితి జాగ్రత్తగా తెలిసుకో. నీ మందల మీద మనస్సు ఉంచు.
24 For riches last not for ever; Not even a crown endureth from generation to generation.
౨౪డబ్బు శాశ్వతం కాదు. కిరీటం తరతరాలు ఉంటుందా?
25 The hay disappeareth, and the tender grass showeth itself, And the herbage of the mountains is gathered in.
౨౫ఎండిన గడ్డి వామి వేస్తారు. పచ్చిక ఇక కనిపించడం లేదు. మొలకలు వస్తున్నాయి. ఆలమందల కోసం కొండగడ్డి కోసుకొస్తున్నారు.
26 The lambs are thy clothing, And the goats the price of thy field.
౨౬నీకు వెచ్చటి బట్టల కోసం గొర్రెపిల్లలున్నాయి. ఒక చేను కొనడానికి మేకలు సరిపోతాయి.
27 There is goat's milk enough for thy food, For the food of thy household, And for the sustenance of thy maidens.
౨౭నీ ఆహారానికి, నీ కుటుంబం తినే ఆహారానికి, నీ దాసదాసీల పోషణకు మేకపాలు ఉంటాయి.
