Proverbs 16
1 To man belongeth the preparation of the heart; But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
౧మనుషుల హృదయాల్లోని ఆలోచనలు వాళ్ళ ఆధీనంలోనే ఉంటాయి. యెహోవా మాత్రమే శాంతి సమాధానాలు అనుగ్రహిస్తాడు.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes; But the LORD weigheth the spirit.
౨ఒక వ్యక్తి ప్రవర్తన అతని దృష్టిలో సవ్యంగానే ఉంటుంది. యెహోవా ఆత్మలను పరిశోధిస్తాడు.
3 Commit thy doings to the LORD, And thy purposes shall be established.
౩నీ పనుల భారమంతా యెహోవా మీద ఉంచు. అప్పుడు నీ ఆలోచనలు సఫలం అవుతాయి.
4 The LORD hath ordained every thing for its end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
౪యెహోవా ప్రతి దానినీ దాని దాని పనుల కోసం నియమించాడు. మూర్ఖులు నాశనమయ్యే రోజు కోసం సృష్టింపబడ్డారు.
5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; From generation to generation he shall not be unpunished.
౫హృదయంలో గర్వం ఉన్నవాళ్ళు యెహోవాకు అసహ్యం. తప్పనిసరిగా వాళ్లు శిక్ష పొందుతారు.
6 Through kindness and truth, iniquity is expiated; And, through the fear of the LORD, men depart from evil.
౬నిబంధన విశ్వసనీయత, నమ్మకత్వం దోషానికి తగిన పరిహారం కలిగిస్తాయి. యెహోవా పట్ల భయభక్తులు కలిగి ఉన్నవాడు దుష్టత్వం నుండి దూరంగా తొలగిపోతాడు.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
౭ఒకడి ప్రవర్తన యెహోవాకు ఇష్టమైతే ఆయన అతని శత్రువులను కూడా మిత్రులుగా చేస్తాడు.
8 Better is a little with righteousness, Than great revenues without right.
౮అన్యాయంగా సంపాదించే అధికమైన సంపద కంటే నీతిగా వచ్చే కొంచెమైనా ఉత్తమం.
9 The heart of man deviseth his way, But the LORD establisheth his steps.
౯ఒకడు తాను చేయాలనుకున్నదంతా హృదయంలో ఆలోచించుకుంటాడు. అతని మార్గాన్ని యెహోవా స్థిరపరుస్తాడు.
10 A divine sentence is upon the lips of a king; His mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
౧౦రాజు నోటి నుండి దైవిక తీర్మానం వెలువడుతుంది. తీర్పు తీర్చునప్పుడు అతని మాట న్యాయం తప్పిపోదు.
11 A just balance and scales are the appointment of the LORD; All the weights of the bag are his work.
౧౧న్యాయమైన త్రాసు, తూకం రాళ్లు యెహోవా నియమించాడు. సంచిలో ఉండే తూనిక గుళ్ళు ఆయన ఏర్పాటు.
12 The doing of wickedness is an abomination to kings; For by righteousness is the throne established.
౧౨రాజులు చెడ్డ పనులు జరిగించడం హేయమైన చర్య. సింహాసనం నిలిచేది న్యాయం మూలానే.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings, And they love him who speaketh right things.
౧౩సరైన సంగతి సూటిగా మాట్లాడేవారు రాజులకు సంతోషం కలిగిస్తారు. నిజాయితీపరులు వారికి ఇష్టమైనవారు.
14 The wrath of a king is messengers of death; But a wise man will pacify it.
౧౪రాజుకు కోపం వస్తే మరణం దాపురిస్తుంది. జ్ఞానం ఉన్నవాడు ఆ కోపం చల్లారేలా చేస్తాడు.
15 In the light of the king's countenance is life, And his favor is a like a cloud bringing the latter rain.
౧౫రాజుల ముఖకాంతి వలన జీవం కలుగుతుంది. అతని అనుగ్రహం వసంతకాలంలో వాన కురిసే మేఘం లాంటిది.
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
౧౬విలువైన బంగారం సంపాదించడం కంటే జ్ఞానం సంపాదించడం ఎంతో శ్రేష్ఠం. వెండి సంపాదించడం కంటే తెలివితేటలు కోరుకోవడం ఉపయోగకరం.
17 It is the highway of the upright to depart from evil; He that taketh heed to his way preserveth his life.
౧౭నిజాయితీపరులకు దుష్ట ప్రవర్తన విడిచి నడుచుకోవడమే రాజమార్గం వంటిది. తన ప్రవర్తన కనిపెట్టుకుని ఉండేవాడు తన ప్రాణం కాపాడుకుంటాడు.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
౧౮ఒకడి గర్వం వాడి పతనానికి దారి చూపుతుంది. అహంకారమైన మనస్సు నాశనానికి నడుపుతుంది.
19 Better is it to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to share the spoil with the proud.
౧౯దుర్మార్గులతో కలసి దోచుకున్న సొమ్ము పంచుకోవడం కంటే, వినయంతో దీన మనస్కులతో ఉండడం మంచిది.
20 He who giveth heed to the word shall find good; And he who trusteth in the LORD, happy is he!
౨౦ఉపదేశం శ్రద్ధగా ఆలకించే వారికి మేలు కలుగుతుంది. యెహోవాను ఆశ్రయం కోరేవాడు ధన్యుడు.
21 The wise in heart shall be called intelligent, And sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
౨౧హృదయంలో జ్ఞానం నిండి ఉన్నవాడు వివేకవంతుడు. మధురమైన మాటలు విద్యాభివృద్ది కలిగిస్తాయి.
22 Understanding is a wellspring of life to him that hath it. And the chastisement of fools is their folly.
౨౨తెలివిగల వారికి వారి జ్ఞానం జీవం కలిగించే ఊట వంటిది. మూఢులకు వారి మూర్ఖత్వమే శిక్షగా మారుతుంది.
23 The heart of the wise man instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips.
౨౩జ్ఞాని హృదయం వాడికి తెలివి బోధిస్తుంది. వాడి పెదాలకు నమ్రత జోడిస్తుంది.
24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweet to the taste, and health to the bones.
౨౪మధురమైన మాటలు కమ్మని తేనె వంటివి. అవి ప్రాణానికి మాధుర్యం, ఎముకలకు ఆరోగ్యం.
25 There is a way that seemeth right to a man, But the end thereof is the way to death.
౨౫ఒకడు నడిచే బాట వాడి దృష్టికి యథార్థం అనిపిస్తుంది. చివరకూ అది మరణానికి నడిపిస్తుంది.
26 The hunger of the laborer laboreth for him; For his mouth urgeth him on.
౨౬కూలివాడి ఆకలే వాడి చేత అని చేయిస్తుంది. వాడి క్షుద్బాధ వాడు పనిచేసేలా తొందరపెడుతుంది.
27 A worthless man diggeth mischief, And on his lips there is, as it were, a burning fire.
౨౭దుష్టులు కీడు కలిగించడం కోసం కారణాలు వెతుకుతారు. వారి పెదాల మీద కోపాగ్ని రగులుతూ ఉంటుంది.
28 A deceitful man stirreth up strife, And a whisperer separateth friends.
౨౮మూర్ఖుడు కలహాలు కల్పిస్తాడు. చాడీలు చెప్పేవాడు మిత్రులను విడదీస్తాడు.
29 A man of violence enticeth his neighbor, And leadeth him into a way which is not good.
౨౯దౌర్జన్యం చేసేవాడు తన పొరుగువాణ్ణి మచ్చిక చేసుకుంటాడు. చెడు మార్గంలో అతణ్ణి నడిపిస్తాడు.
30 He who shutteth his eyes to devise fraud, He who compresseth his lips, hath accomplished mischief!
౩౦కళ్ళు మూస్తూ పెదవులు బిగబట్టేవారు, కుయుక్తులు పన్నేవారు కీడు కలిగించే వారు.
31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, If it be found in the way of righteousness.
౩౧నెరసిన వెంట్రుకలు సొగసైన కిరీటం వంటివి. అవి న్యాయమార్గంలో నడుచుకునే వారికి దక్కుతాయి.
32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he who ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.
౩౨పరాక్రమం గల యుద్ధవీరుని కంటే దీర్ఘశాంతం గలవాడు శ్రేష్ఠుడు. పట్టణాలను స్వాధీనం చేసుకునేవాడి కంటే తన మనస్సును అదుపులో ఉంచుకునేవాడు శ్రేష్ఠుడు.
33 The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole decision thereof is from the LORD.
౩౩చీట్లు ఒడిలో వేస్తారు. నిర్ణయం యెహోవాదే.
