Proverbs 15
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath; But harsh words stir up anger.
Eine linde Antwort stillt den Zorn; aber ein hartes Wort richtet Grimm an.
2 The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge pleasing; But the mouth of fools poureth forth folly.
Der Weisen Zunge macht die Lehre lieblich; der Narren Mund speit eitel Narrheit.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place; They behold the evil and the good.
Die Augen des HERRN schauen an allen Orten beide, die Bösen und die Frommen.
4 A mild tongue is a tree of life; But perverseness therein is a wound in the spirit.
Ein heilsame Zunge ist ein Baum des Lebens; aber eine lügenhafte macht Herzeleid.
5 The fool despiseth the correction of his father; But he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Der Narr lästert die Zucht seines Vaters; wer aber Strafe annimmt, der wird klug werden.
6 In the house of the righteous is much wealth; But in the revenues of the wicked there is trouble.
In des Gerechten Haus ist Guts genug; aber in dem Einkommen des Gottlosen ist Verderben.
7 The lips of the wise spread abroad knowledge; But the heart of the foolish is not sound.
Der Weisen Mund streut guten Rat; aber der Narren Herz ist nicht richtig.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; But the prayer of the righteous is his delight.
Der Gottlosen Opfer ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; aber das Gebet der Frommen ist ihm angenehm.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; But him who followeth after righteousness he loveth.
Der Gottlosen Weg ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; wer aber der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt, den liebt er.
10 Sore chastisement shall be to him that forsaketh the way; He that hateth reproof shall die.
Den Weg verlassen bringt böse Züchtigung, und wer Strafe haßt, der muß sterben.
11 The underworld, yea, the region of death, is before the LORD; How much more the hearts of the sons of men! (Sheol h7585)
Hölle und Abgrund ist vor dem HERRN; wie viel mehr der Menschen Herzen! (Sheol h7585)
12 The scoffer loveth not his reprover; He will not resort to the wise.
Der Spötter liebt den nicht, der ihn straft, und geht nicht zu den Weisen.
13 A joyous heart maketh a bright countenance; But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Ein fröhlich Herz macht ein fröhlich Angesicht; aber wenn das Herz bekümmert ist, so fällt auch der Mut.
14 The heart of the man of understanding seeketh knowledge; But the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
Ein kluges Herz handelt bedächtig; aber der Narren Mund geht mit Torheit um.
15 The days of the afflicted are all evil; But he that hath a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
Ein Betrübter hat nimmer einen guten Tag; aber ein guter Mut ist ein täglich Wohlleben.
16 Better is a little, with the fear of the LORD, Than much treasure, and trouble therewith.
Es ist besser ein wenig mit der Furcht des HERRN denn großer Schatz, darin Unruhe ist.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where there is love, Than a fatted ox, and hatred therewith.
Es ist besser ein Gericht Kraut mit Liebe, denn ein gemästeter Ochse mit Haß.
18 The passionate man stirreth up strife; But he who is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Ein zorniger Mann richtet Hader an; ein Geduldiger aber stillt den Zank.
19 The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns; But the way of the righteous is a highway.
Der Weg des Faulen ist dornig; aber der Weg des Frommen ist wohl gebahnt.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father; But a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Ein weiser Sohn erfreut den Vater, und ein törichter Mensch ist seiner Mutter Schande.
21 Folly is joy to him who lacketh wisdom; But the man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Dem Toren ist die Torheit eine Freude; aber ein verständiger Mann bleibt auf dem rechten Wege.
22 Without counsel, plans come to nought; But with a multitude of counsellors they are established.
Die Anschläge werden zunichte, wo nicht Rat ist; wo aber viel Ratgeber sind, bestehen sie.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good it is!
Es ist einem Manne eine Freude, wenn er richtig antwortet; und ein Wort zu seiner Zeit ist sehr lieblich.
24 The path of life is upward for the wise, So that he turneth away from the underworld beneath. (Sheol h7585)
Der Weg des Lebens geht überwärts für den Klugen, auf daß er meide die Hölle unterwärts. (Sheol h7585)
25 The LORD destroyeth the house of the proud; But he will establish the border of the widow.
Der HERR wird das Haus des Hoffärtigen zerbrechen und die Grenze der Witwe bestätigen.
26 Evil devices are an abomination to the LORD; But pleasant words are pure.
Die Anschläge des Argen sind dem HERRN ein Greuel; aber freundlich reden die Reinen.
27 He who is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; But he who hateth bribes shall live.
Der Geizige verstört sein eigen Haus; wer aber Geschenke haßt, der wird leben.
28 The heart of the righteous meditateth on his answer; But the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Das Herz des Gerechten ersinnt, was zu antworten ist; aber der Mund der Gottlosen schäumt Böses.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked: But he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Der HERR ist fern von den Gottlosen; aber der Gerechten Gebet erhört er.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, And good tidings make the bones fat.
Freundlicher Anblick erfreut das Herz; eine gute Botschaft labt das Gebein.
31 The ear that hearkeneth to the reproof of life Shall dwell among the wise.
Das Ohr, das da hört die Strafe des Lebens, wird unter den Weisen wohnen.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own life; But he that hearkeneth to rebuke getteth understanding.
Wer sich nicht ziehen läßt, der macht sich selbst zunichte; wer aber auf Strafe hört, der wird klug.
33 The fear of the LORD guideth to wisdom, And before honor is humility.
Die Furcht des HERRN ist Zucht und Weisheit; und ehe man zu Ehren kommt, muß man zuvor leiden.
