Proverbs 11
1 False scales are an abomination to the LORD; But a perfect weight is his delight.
Un balance falso es una abominación para Yahvé, pero las pesas precisas son su deleite.
2 When pride cometh, then cometh disgrace; But with the humble is wisdom.
Cuando llega el orgullo, llega la vergüenza, pero con la humildad viene la sabiduría.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them; But the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
La integridad de los rectos los guiará, pero la perversidad de los traidores los destruirá.
4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath; But righteousness delivereth from death.
Las riquezas no aprovechan en el día de la ira, pero la justicia libra de la muerte.
5 The righteousness of the good man maketh his way plain; But the wicked falleth through his wickedness.
La justicia del intachable dirigirá su camino, pero el impío caerá por su propia maldad.
6 The righteousness of the upright delivereth them; But transgressors are ensnared in their own mischief.
La justicia de los rectos los librará, pero los infieles quedarán atrapados por los malos deseos.
7 When the wicked man dieth, his hope cometh to an end; Yea, the expectation of the unjust cometh to an end.
Cuando un malvado muere, la esperanza perece, y la expectativa de poder se queda en nada.
8 The righteous man is delivered from trouble, And the wicked cometh into it in his stead.
El justo es liberado de la angustia, y el malvado ocupa su lugar.
9 By his mouth the vile man destroyeth his neighbor; But by the knowledge of the righteous are men delivered.
Con su boca el impío destruye a su prójimo, pero los justos serán liberados a través del conocimiento.
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth; And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Cuando le va bien al justo, la ciudad se alegra. Cuando los malvados perecen, hay gritos.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted; But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Por la bendición de los rectos, la ciudad es exaltada, pero es derribado por la boca de los malvados.
12 He who despiseth his neighbor is void of understanding; A man of discernment holdeth his peace.
El que desprecia a su prójimo está vacío de sabiduría, pero un hombre comprensivo mantiene su paz.
13 He who goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; But he who is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter.
El que trae chismes traiciona una confianza, pero el que tiene un espíritu de confianza es el que guarda un secreto.
14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in a multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Donde no hay una guía sabia, la nación cae, pero en la multitud de consejeros está la victoria.
15 He that is surety for another shall smart for it; But he that hateth suretyship is sure.
El que es garante de un extraño sufrirá por ello, pero el que rechaza las prendas de garantía está seguro.
16 A graceful woman obtaineth honor, Even as strong men obtain riches.
Una mujer con gracia obtiene honor, pero los hombres violentos obtienen riquezas.
17 He that doeth good to himself is a man of kindness; But he that tormenteth his own flesh is cruel.
El hombre misericordioso hace el bien a su propia alma, pero el que es cruel molesta a su propia carne.
18 The wicked toileth for deceitful wages; But he who soweth righteousness shall have a sure reward.
Los malvados ganan sueldos engañosos, pero el que siembra justicia cosecha una recompensa segura.
19 As righteousness tendeth to life, So he who pursueth evil pursueth it to his death.
El que es verdaderamente justo obtiene la vida. El que persigue el mal obtiene la muerte.
20 The perverse in heart are the abomination of the LORD; But the upright in their way are his delight.
Los perversos de corazón son una abominación para Yahvé, pero aquellos cuyos caminos son intachables son su deleite.
21 From generation to generation the wicked shall not go unpunished; But the posterity of the righteous shall be delivered.
Ciertamente, el hombre malo no quedará impune, pero la descendencia de los justos será liberada.
22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, So is a beautiful woman who is without discretion.
Como un anillo de oro en el hocico de un cerdo, es una hermosa mujer que carece de discreción.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good; But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
El deseo de los justos es sólo bueno. La expectativa de los malvados es la ira.
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; And there is that withholdeth more than is right, yet he cometh to want.
Hay uno que dispersa y aumenta aún más. Hay uno que retiene más de lo debido, pero gana la pobreza.
25 The bountiful man shall be enriched, And he that watereth shall himself be watered.
El alma liberal será engordada. El que riega será también regado.
26 Him that keepeth back corn the people curse; But blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
La gente maldice a quien retiene el grano, pero la bendición caerá sobre la cabeza de quien lo venda.
27 He, who earnestly seeketh good, seeketh favor; But he that seeketh mischief, it shall come upon him.
El que busca diligentemente el bien, busca el favor, pero el que busca el mal, éste vendrá a él.
28 He who trusteth in his riches shall fall; But the righteous shall flourish as a leaf.
El que confía en sus riquezas caerá, pero el justo florecerá como la hoja verde.
29 He that harasseth his household shall inherit wind; And the fool shall be the servant of the wise.
El que molesta a su propia casa heredará el viento. El necio servirá al sabio de corazón.
30 The fruit of a righteous man is a tree of life; And the wise man winneth souls.
El fruto del justo es un árbol de vida. El que es sabio gana almas.
31 Behold, the righteous man is requited on the earth; Much more the wicked man and the sinner!
He aquí que los justos serán recompensados en la tierra, ¡cuanto más el malvado y el pecador!
