Proverbs 10
1 The Proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
Salomos Ordsprog. Viis Søn glæder sin Fader, taabelig Søn er sin Moders Sorg.
2 Treasures of wickedness do not profit; But righteousness delivereth from death.
Gudløsheds Skatte gavner intet, men Retfærd redder fra Død.
3 The LORD will not suffer the righteous to famish; But he disappointeth the craving of the wicked.
HERREN lader ej en retfærdig sulte, men gudløses Attraa støder han fra sig.
4 He that worketh with a slack hand becometh poor; But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Doven Haand skaber Fattigdom, flittiges Haand gør rig.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; But he that sleepeth in harvest is a son causing shame.
En klog Søn samler om Somren, en daarlig sover om Høsten.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just; But the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
Velsignelse er for retfærdiges Hoved, paa Uret gemmer gudløses Mund.
7 The memory of the righteous man shall be blessed; But the name of the wicked shall rot.
Den retfærdiges Minde velsignes, gudløses Navn smuldrer hen.
8 He who is wise in heart receiveth precepts; But the foolish talker falleth headlong.
Den vise tager mod Paabud, den brovtende Daare styrtes.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh securely; But he that perverteth his ways shall be punished.
Hvo lydefrit vandrer, vandrer trygt; men hvo der gaar Krogveje, ham gaar det ilde.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; And a foolish talker falleth headlong.
Blinker man med Øjet, volder man ondt, den brovtende Daare styrtes.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; But the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
Den retfærdiges Mund er en Livsens Kilde, paa Uret gemmer gudløses Mund.
12 Hatred stirreth up strife; But love covereth all offences.
Had vækker Splid, Kærlighed skjuler alle Synder.
13 Upon the lips of a man of understanding wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him that lacketh understanding.
Paa den kloges Læber finder man Visdom, Stok er til Ryg paa Mand uden Vid.
14 Wise men treasure up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is destruction close at hand.
De vise gemmer den indsigt, de har, Daarens Mund er truende Vaade.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city; The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
Den riges Gods er hans faste Stad, Armod de ringes Vaade.
16 The earnings of the righteous minister to life; The revenues of the wicked, to sin.
Den retfærdiges Vinding tjener til Liv, den gudløses Indtægt til Synd.
17 He that keepeth instruction is in the path of life; But he that refuseth reproof goeth astray.
At vogte paa Tugt er Vej til Livet, vild farer den, som viser Revselse fra sig.
18 He that hideth hatred hath lying lips; And he that uttereth slander is a fool.
Retfærdige Læber tier om Had, en Taabe er den, der udspreder Rygter.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not offence; But he who restraineth his lips is wise.
Ved megen Tale undgaas ej Brøde, klog er den, der vogter sin Mund.
20 The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver; The understanding of the wicked is of little worth.
Den retfærdiges Tunge er udsøgt Sølv, gudløses Hjerte er intet værd.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many; But fools die through want of wisdom.
Den retfærdiges Læber nærer mange, Daarerne dør af Mangel paa Vid.
22 It is the blessing of the LORD that maketh rich, And he addeth no sorrow with it.
HERRENS Velsignelse, den gør rig, Slid og Slæb lægger intet til.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief; But a man of understanding hath wisdom.
For Taaben er Skændselsgerning en Leg, Visdom er Leg for Mand med Indsigt.
24 The fear of the wicked shall come upon him; But the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Hvad en gudløs frygter, kommer over hans Hoved, hvad retfærdige ønsker, bliver dem givet.
25 When the whirlwind passeth by, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
Naar Storm farer frem, er den gudløse borte, den retfærdige staar paa evig Grund.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to them that send him.
Som Eddike for Tænder og Røg for Øjne saa er den lade for dem, der sender ham.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth life; But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
HERRENS Frygt lægger Dage til, gudløses Aar kortes af.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: But the expectation of the wicked shall come to nothing.
Retfærdige har Glæde i Vente, gudløses Haab vil briste.
29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold for the upright, But destruction for those who do iniquity.
For lydefri Vandel er HERREN et Værn, men en Rædsel for Udaadsmænd.
30 The righteous shall never be moved; But the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Den retfærdige rokkes aldrig, ikke skal gudløse bo i Landet.
31 The mouth of the righteous man yieldeth wisdom; But the perverse tongue shall be cut off.
Den retfærdiges Mund bærer Visdoms Frugt, den falske Tunge udryddes.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.
Den retfærdiges Læber søger Yndest, gudløses Mund bærer Falskheds Frugt.
