Philippians 3
1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord; to write the same things to you, to me is not burdensome, and for you it is safe.
Resta, irmãos meus, que vos regozijeis no Senhor. Não me é molesto escrever-vos as mesmas coisas, e é segurança para vós.
2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workmen, beware of the concision.
Guardae-vos dos cães, guardae-vos dos maus obreiros, guardae-vos da circumcisão;
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;
Porque a circumcisão somos nós, que servimos a Deus em espirito, e que nos gloriamos em Jesus Christo, e não confiamos na carne.
4 though I myself have reason for confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath reason for confidence in the flesh, I more;
Ainda que tambem tenho de que confiar na carne; se algum outro cuida que tem de que confiar na carne, ainda mais eu:
5 circumcised the eighth day, of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee;
Circumcidado ao oitavo dia, da linhagem de Israel, da tribu de Benjamin, hebreo de hebreos, segundo a lei, phariseo,
6 as to zeal, persecuting the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, blameless.
Segundo o zelo, perseguidor da egreja, segundo a justiça que ha na lei, irreprehensivel.
7 But whatever things were gain to me, those for the sake of Christ I have counted but loss.
Mas o que para mim era ganho tive-o por perda por amor de Christo.
8 Nay more, I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, that I may gain Christ,
E, na verdade, tenho tambem por perda todas as coisas, pela excellencia do conhecimento de Christo Jesus, meu Senhor, por amor do qual contei por perda todas estas coisas, e as considero como esterco, para que possa ganhar a Christo,
9 and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God upon faith;
E seja achado n'elle, não tendo a minha justiça que vem de lei, mas a que vem da fé em Christo, a saber, a justiça que vem de Deus pela fé;
10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, while becoming like him in his death,
Para conhecel-o, e á virtude da sua resurreição, e á communicação de suas afflicções, sendo feito conforme a sua morte;
11 if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Para ver se de alguma maneira posso chegar á resurreição dos mortos.
12 Not that I have already obtained, or have been already perfected; but I press on, if I may also lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ.
Não que já a tenha alcançado, ou que seja perfeito, mas prosigo para alcançar aquillo para o que fui tambem preso por Christo Jesus.
13 Brethren, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold of it; but one thing I do, forgetting the things that are behind, and stretching forth to the things that are before,
Irmãos, quanto a mim, não julgo que o haja alcançado;
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the heavenly calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Porém uma coisa faço, e é que, esquecendo-me das coisas que atraz ficam, e avançando para as que estão diante de mim, prosigo para o alvo, ao premio da soberana vocação de Deus em Christo Jesus.
15 Let us, therefore, as many as are perfect, be of this mind; and if ye have a different mind in anything, even this will God reveal to you.
Pelo que todos quantos já somos perfeitos, sintamos isto mesmo; e, se sentis alguma coisa d'outra maneira, tambem Deus vol-o revelará.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have reached, in that let us walk.
Porém, n'aquillo a que já chegámos, andemos segundo a mesma regra, e sintamos o mesmo.
17 Brethren, be ye followers together of me, and mark those who walk as ye have us for an example.
Sêde tambem meus imitadores, irmãos, e tende cuidado, segundo o exemplo que tendes em nós, pelos que assim andam.
18 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ;
Porque muitos andam, dos quaes muitas vezes vos disse, e agora tambem digo, chorando, que são inimigos da cruz de Christo.
19 whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, whose mind is on earthly things.
Cujo fim é a perdição; cujo Deus é o ventre; e cuja gloria é para confusão d'elles, que só pensam nas coisas terrenas.
20 For the country of which we are citizens is heaven, whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Mas a nossa cidade está nos céus, d'onde tambem esperamos o Salvador, o Senhor Jesus Christo.
21 who will transform the body of our humiliation so that it shall be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of the power with which he is able to subdue all things to himself.
O qual transformará o nosso corpo abatido, para ser conforme o seu corpo glorioso, segundo o seu efficaz poder de sujeitar tambem a si todas as coisas.
