1 Woe to the city of blood! She is all full of deceit and robbery; She ceaseth not from plunder.
Zikusanze ggwe ekibuga eky’omusaayi! Kyonna ekijjudde eby’obulimba n’obunyazi, ekitaggwaamu banyagiddwa.
2 [[Hark!]] The noise of the whip! The noise of the rattling of the wheels, And of the prancing horses, And of the bounding chariots!
Muwulire okuvuga kw’embooko, n’okuvuuma kwa namuziga z’amagaali n’ebigere by’embalaasi nga bwe bivuga n’amagaali nga gakubaganira mu nguudo!
3 The horseman lifteth up the flame of the sword, And the lightning of the spear; There is a multitude of the slain; heaps of dead bodies; There is no end to the carcasses; they stumble over the carcasses.
Laba eggye ery’embalaasi erirumba, n’ebitala ebitemagana, n’amafumu agamyansa. Abatuukiddwako ebisago nga bayitirivu, ne ntuumu ennene ez’emirambo egitamanyiddwa muwendo; abantu bagirinnyirira.
4 It is because of the many whoredoms of the harlot, The graceful beauty, the mistress of enchantments, That sold nations by her whoredoms, And kingdoms by her enchantments.
Bino byonna biri bityo kubanga Nineeve yeeweerayo ddala okwetunda eri abalabe ba Katonda obutasalako, nga malaaya omukulu, kye kibuga ekikyaamu ekitali kyesigwa ekyawubisa ebirala, omukulu w’obufumu, ekyafuula amawanga abaddu baakyo olw’obwamalaaya bwakyo, n’olw’obulogo bwakyo.
5 Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of host, And I will lift up thy trail over thy face, And I will show the nations thy nakedness, And the kingdoms thy shame.
“Laba nkwolekedde,” bw’ayogera Mukama ow’Eggye, “era nditikka engoye zo ne zidda ku mutwe gwo. Ensi zonna ziriraba obwereere bwo n’obwakabaka bwonna bulabe ensonyi zo.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, And I will dishonor thee, and make thee a gazing-stock,
Ndikukanyugira kazambi, era ndikufuula ekyenyinyalwa ne nkufuula eky’okwelolera.
7 And all that see thee shall flee from thee, And shall say, “Nineveh is laid waste; Who will bemoan her? Whence shall I seek comforters for thee?”
Awo bonna abalikutunuulira balikwesamba ne bagamba nti, ‘Nineeve kifuuse matongo, ani anakikungubagira?’ Abalikikubagiza baliva wa?”
8 Art thou better than No-Ammon, That dwelt by the rivers, That had the waters round about her, Whose fortress was the sea, And whose wall was from the waters?
Ggwe Nineeve ggw’osinga Tebesi ekyali kizimbiddwa ku mugga Kiyira ng’amazzi gakyetoolodde okukikuuma ku njuyi zonna? Olukomera lwakyo gwali mugga era amazzi ge gaali bbugwe waakyo.
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, a countless multitude; Phut and Lybia were thy helpers!
Esiyopya ne Misiri ze zaakiwagiranga. Ate nga Abapuuti n’ab’omu Libiya nabo nga bakiyamba.
10 Yet was she carried away; she went into captivity; Her children were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets; For her honorable men they cast lots, And all her great men were bound in chains.
Kyawambibwa, ne kitwalibwa mu buwaŋŋanguse. Abaana bwakyo abawere babetentebwa mu ntandikwa ya buli luguudo. Abakungu baakyo baakubirwa obululu, n’abasajja be ab’amaanyi baasibibwa mu njegere.
11 Thou also shalt drink to the full; Thou, too, shalt be hidden; Thou shalt seek a refuge from the enemy!
Nineeve naawe olitamiira, olyekweka ng’onoonya obuddukiro owone omulabe wo.
12 All thy strong-holds shall be like fig-trees with the first ripe figs; If they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
Ebigo byo byonna biri ng’emitiini egiriko ebibala ebisooka okwengera; bwe ginyeenyezebwa ne bigwa mu kamwa k’oyo anaabirya.
13 Behold, thy people shall be women in the midst of thee; The gates of thy land shall be set wide open to thine enemies; The fire shall devour thy bars.
Laba abalwanyi bammwe balinafuwa ne batiitiira ng’abakazi. Enzigi z’ensi yo nzigule eri abalabe bo. Era omuliro gwokezza emikiikiro gyazo.
14 Draw thee water for the siege, Fortify thy strongholds. Go into the clay, and tread the mortar; Repair the brick-kiln!
Weenyweze bajja kukulumba! Weeterekere ku mazzi g’onoonywako. Nyweza ebisenge byo. Noonya ettaka olisambe oddaabirize ekisenge eky’amatoffaali.
15 Then shall the fire devour thee; The sword shall cut thee off, It shall devour thee like the locust; Though thou art increased like the locusts, Though thou art increased like the thick locusts.
Omuliro gulikulya, ekitala kirikuzikiriza. Wenna oliriibwa ng’enzige bwe zirya ebirime. Mweyongere obungi ng’enseenene, mwale ng’enzige.
16 Thy merchants have been more numerous than the stars of heaven; The locusts spread themselves and fly away.
Mwongedde ku bungi bwa basuubuzi bammwe okusinga emmunyeenye ez’oku ggulu. Naye ensi baligikaza okufaanana ng’enzige bwe zimalawo ensi ne ziryoka zibuuka.
17 Thy princes are like locusts, And thy captains like swarms of locusts, Which encamp in the hedges in the time of cold; But when the sun ariseth, they flee away, And the place is not known where they are.
Abakuumi bammwe bali ng’enzige, n’abakungu bammwe ng’ebibinja by’enzige ezibeera ku bisenge ku lunaku olw’obutiti. Enjuba bw’evaayo zibuuka ne ziraga etamanyiddwa.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria! Thy nobles take their rest, Thy people are scattered on the mountains, and none gathereth them.
Abasumba bo nga babongoota, ggwe kabaka wa Bwasuli, n’abakungu abeekitiibwa bagalamidde nga bawumuddeko. Abantu bo basaasaanira ku nsozi nga tewali n’omu abakuŋŋaanya.
19 Thy bruise is incurable; Thy wound is mortal. All that hear of thee shall clap their hands over thee; For upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
Tewali kisobola kuwonya kiwundu kyo ekinene bwe kityo. Bonna abawulira ebikuguddeko bakuba bukubi mu ngalo olw’okugwa kwo. Ani ataakosebwa olw’ettima lyo eringi? Kubanga muntu ki ataatuusibwako bukambwe bwo obwa buli kakedde?
